‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody,’ the lead single from Whitney Houston‘s 1987 eponymous sophomore album, not only hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 at the height of its popularity (becoming her fourth in what would go on to be a record-setting string of 7 consecutive chart-toppers) but it would eventually nab 7x Platinum status at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The measure denotes sales equivalence of 7 million in the United States.

In fact, the latter organization has it listed as her second highest-certified hit in the country to date following the gargantuan ‘I Will Always Love You.’

A staple at weddings as well as TV and movie soundtracks over the last 3 decades, the enduring legacy of the Narada Michael Walden-produced smash got yet another nod thanks to Billboard’s recently published list of the “500 Best Pop Songs.”

Brandy is set to bring festive cheer to screens in the ‘Best. Christmas. Ever.’

The multihyphenate star leads the Netflix film in the role of Jackie.

Each holiday season, she sends out a festive newsletter (filled with boasts) that makes her old college friend  feel… less than merry.

A twist of fate sees Charlotte, her husband, and their family on Jackie’s and her husband Valentino’s snowy doorstep just days before Christmas.

Keen to prove that her friend’s life isn’t as “perfect” as presented, Charlotte almost ruins Christmas for everyone – forcing both families to team up to restore the holiday spirit.

B-Rocka stars in the Mary Lambert-directed flick alongside Heather Graham, Jason Biggs, and Matt Cedeño.

As reported, the film is being supported by Brandy’s new holiday album, ‘Christmas With Brandy’ (due November 10).

Ahead of the movie’s November 16 release on the streamer, check out the freshly unwrapped first-look trailer:

Just a month after watching his Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado reunion single, ‘Keep Going Up,’ become his first Hot 100-charting single in over a decade, Timbaland is looking to reach even higher Hot 100 heights with its follow-up: ‘My Way.’

Delivered his own imprint, Mosley Music Group, and Def Jam Recordings on Friday (October 20), the bass-buoyed bop – assisted by newcomer Anna Margo – is reminiscent of the producer extraordinaire’s late 90’s and early 2000’s hits (namely those with R&B princess Aaliyah).

“So tell me ’bout your big plan / You wanna see if I’m anything new / What makes you think I want somethin’ from you? / Try not to blink when I walk in the room,” she croons on the song’s pre-chorus.

The street-inspired wardrobe rocked by the rising California-based songstress in the tune’s accompanying music video also drew mixed comparisons to the late ‘Are You That Somebody?’ singer.

Look inside to see why.

“Freedom” takes on many forms for P!nk these days.

Beyond feeling like she’s broken free from the criticism of ageist detractors who place limits on what a Pop diva over 40 can look, sound, and perform like, the GRAMMY winner has also loosened the grip of a troubled past that nearly saw her never touch the heights of Billboard charts (or ceilings with her high-flying performances).
