Jordin Sparks has a hit on her hands!

That’s right, after taking some time to find her feet as an artist, the Urban Pop Princess has unleashed a sun kissed new jam named ‘Skipping a Beat’.

We kid you not when we say it’s already our favourite song to drop this summer, built for Top 40 Radio but laced with a generous amount of Urban seasoning…giving everyone here at TGJ no choice but to pop a little shoulder bounce.

Basically…..we’re in love with it.

Say what you will about Rihanna, but little can be done to downplay her leading role in the play that is Pop music.

By no means a remarkable vocalist, the star has-in recent years- morphed herself into an albums seller, watching each and every LP she’s released since 2010 sell no less than 3 million units worldwide….impressive, by anyone’s standards.

Only right then, that she assesses her worth as an act today and secures a brand new recording contract- complete with new terms and conditions set to catapult her even further to Pop supremacy.

Good news below…

Now watch the ‘Party in the USA’ writer tease her brand new single ‘It’s My Party’ via a Google+ Hangout session.

With Lady GaGa and Katy Perry eyeing major numbers with their respective albums, they’ll no doubt be aware of Drake…the mega seller with a habit of outperforming many a Pop rival first week.

Today, in ensuring he does just that with his new album ‘Nothing Was The Same‘, the Hip Hop hero sends a brand new single the world’s way, featuring 2 Chainz and Big Sean.

It’s shaping up to be a good week for Grammy winning singer/songwriter Robin Thicke.

With the weeks past affording him his first #1 single on Billboard Hot 100 ‘Blurred Lines’, news has now surfaced that the top-selling, Pharrell/T.I.-assisted number is assisting Thicke to his first ever Billboard 200 reign (to be reflected upon the chart’s refreshing next week).

The ‘Sex Therapy’ performer, who has been on a weeklong promo of the new critically acclaimed album, made his most recent stop aboard tonight’s episode of ‘America’s Got Talent’.  Rejoining former ‘Real Husbands of Hollywood’ co-star Nick Cannon, see Thicke show ’em how it’s done with his show-stopping performance below:

As super-producers go, they don’t come more successful than Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins.

The hitmaker embodies the word in the most literal sense, having cooked up chart smashes for the likes of Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Lady GaGa, and Whitney Houston.

Now, the Grammy winner is venturing into reality TV with his singer wife Joy Enriquez. Christened ‘House Of Joy’, the show (which airs on Jennifer Lopez‘s new Spanglish channel, NUVOtv) chronicles the couple’s day-to-day life, as well as Enririque’s musical ambition.

Of course, in the spirit of asking the questions you want us to, we quizzed Jerkins on the latest projects he’s working on – which he revealed to be Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Justin Bieber, and more.

Oh no.

As supporters of 2013’s brightest star Ariana Grande, we eagerly anticipate the release of her debut album ‘Yours Truly’ on September 3rd.

With this in mind, try your best to imagine our horror upon laying eyes on its recently released cover art, bland and disturbing…all at the same time.

Lacking the personality that draws so many to her music, but too ‘Lolita-esque’ to look at without playing re-runs of ‘To Catch A Predator’ in one’s mind, the cover is-rather unfortunately- all shades of off putting.

Here’s hoping the response it will no doubt garner encourages Camp Grande to change it in time for release, baring her young audience- and the mothers they’ll pester to pick up the album for them, in mind.

Your thoughts?

Competition this way comes.

As the Monsters prepare to get its hands on Lady GaGa‘s brand new single ‘Applause’, today saw the song find fresh competition in Katy Perry, and the first single to be pulled from her new album ‘Prism’.

Why, you ask?
