The ‘Godfather of Soul’s memory lives on in ‘Get On Up’ – the forthcoming Universal Pictures biopic underway in his memory.

Based on the life and times of the Grammy winning legend James Brown, the film – due in theaters October 17th, 2014 – is set to be directed by Tate Taylor (“The Help”) and will see2′ star Chadwick Bosemen portray the fiery music icon.

Before his death in 2006, Brown himself was integral in the early stages of the film’s development.  Now, music fans await to see what the finished product.  But, if the team chosen is any indication, the biopic is already well on its way to being a winner.

Due to hit stands on September 17th, the youngest of the Braxton clan brings her young one Logan V. Herbert aboard for a mother-son photo shoot for the mag’s ‘Black Family’ issue to accompany the tell-all feature story detailing another of Tamar’s battle – with infertility.

The cover hits the net just hours before the songstress is set to show off her singing chops on tonight’s episode of NBC’s ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ (12:35AM ET).

Kanye West‘s ‘Yeezus’ may not have lived up to commercial expectations upon release this June, yet that hasn’t stopped the Hip-Hop titan from setting sail on a supporting tour.

The rapper has teamed up with burgeoning chart force Kendrick Lamar for the US leg of the trek, which kicks off next month.

We’re not sure what the tea is with Yeezy these days, but one thing is certain – he’s about to make major bank with this tour. As any Hip-Hop enthusiast will attest, Kanye’s shows are quite the spectacle and with Kendrick in the mix, this is quite literally a dream ticket.

With new single ‘Roar’ doing just that on charts the world over, Katy Perry builds on her buzz by revealing the artwork for its parent album – ‘Prism’.

The colorful cover was unveiled moments ago on Good Morning America and – like Perry – is sure to set tongues wagging. It’s not rocking our world (and neither did ‘Roar’), yet given the wealth of momentum the project has already, we doubt it’ll stop the LP from blazing the Billboard charts when it arrives on October 22nd.
