‘Givin’ all the dedication that I got / Cos I’m proud to say that I’m a Rita Bot’.
By all accounts, Rita Ora stands as one of Pop’s friendlier contributors, celebrated by many for her work as an ambassador of her homeland Kosovo and an endearing nature that saw her win over many a fan during her time on ‘X Factor UK‘s ninth season.
Now, in thanking her for the material so many are slowly but surely learning to love, one member of fan base – ‘The Ritabots‘ has penned a heartfelt song for the performer, named….’The Ritabot Song‘.
Written and recorded by YouTuber ‘Nicola Dean’, the number was brought to life this week when the die hard fan filmed herself performing it and uploaded it to the video sharing platform.
While some of the lyrics are difficult to ascertain, the sentiment is all too clear.
‘I’ll cut your arm off, and slap you with your own hand’.
The above, being one of the lines spewed by Rapper Cassidy to his new found nemesis Meek Mill in the soon to be controversial ‘Catch a Body‘- the diss tracked penned by the former to the latter and his mentor, Rick Ross.
In response to Mill‘s ‘Kendrick You Next‘ which saw him both mock and slam the ‘Hotel’ hit maker, the diss track sees Cass do the unthinkable and hint at Meek’s alleged involvement in the murder of his close friend Lil Snupe.
The Pop force tosses her name (and wig) into the chart melee that is the fourth quarter. Details surrounding her upcoming eighth album are being guarded with much ferocity, however the singer herself shared a snap of herself hard at work on the set of its lead single…‘Work Bitch’.
Taking to Twitter, her team she wrote:
Hot day on set… 😉 A little dirty, little flirty, danced my ASS off. Stoked for tomorrow!
We’d be lying if we said we weren’t a touch excited about the shot above, as well as the song’s title.
However, for us to really “turn up”, we to need Ms. Spears to show and prove (again). For, we’ve been hoodwinked one time too many times with promises of dancing one’s ass off, only to see body doubles and blank stares.
Still, we’re still eager to see how this plays out. With a title as grabbing ‘Work Bitch’, Britney (quite literally) has no choice but to do just that!
Today’s From The Vault pick comes courtesy of Usher and his breakthrough hit single, ‘You Make Me Wanna’.
The launching release from his sophomore effort, 1997’s ‘My Way’, ‘Make’ stands as the first of many touchdowns scored by the dynamic duo of Ush’ and the great Jermaine Dupri.
Released right at the tail end of the New Jack Swing craze, it became a template for what R&B would go on to sound like in the late 90’s.
Shooting straight to the #2 spot of the Hot 100, the sizzling track was only held back from the pole position by Elton John monumental ‘Candle In The Wind’ – which charted at #1 for 14 weeks. Elsewhere, it was a Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B #1 and also reached the top of the UK Singles Chart tally, it peaked at #6 in both Canada and Australia.
The music video, directed by Bille Woodruff, is a colorful affair mixing solo shots with elaborate dance moves including a chair routine. It was also quite the event because in similar fashion to Michael Jackson’s ‘Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough’ and Destiny’s Child’s ‘Lose My Breath’ several years later, it featured multiple Usher-clones engaging in synchronized choreography. A 90’s classic.

With Usher’s last album ‘Looking 4 Myself’ not exactly setting the charts alight and R&B seemingly on the up, it will be rather interesting to see which path the entertainer will embark on next go round. Are we in for a dance-athon in the vein of his latest hits ‘DJ Got Us Falling In Love’, ‘Scream’ and ‘OMG’? Will the talented triple-threat take us back to the pure R&B sound of ‘My Way’ and ‘8701’? Is Usher about to unleash something totally different upon us? We sure can’t wait to get the answers to our questions.
What is certain is that the ‘Yeah!’ singer stands as one of the (if not the) most talented male entertainers of the last few generations; an act who always gives it a 100% and truly lives up to his stage-blazer status — hence why we’ll forever be rooting for him.
They may be based in the East Coast, but New York Fashion Week saw Rihanna & Ciara spend the bulk of the last week out West- as seen in the snaps above and below.
Arriving at the Prabal Gurung show sans her ‘Honest‘ boyfriend Future, Ciara turned heads after learning of the continued success of her latest LP, which now edges closer to sales of half a million units worldwide after birthing US Top 40 hit ‘Body Party’, which peaked at #22.
More pics of she and fellow hit maker Rihanna below!
Beyonce’s Super Bowl extravangza this year was always going to be the hardest of shows to top; and though we’re not sure anyone on today’s charts could, Bruno Mars has officially been confirmed as the artist tasked with the job.
Celine Dion‘s promo train reached ‘Jimmy Kimmel‘s stop two nights ago, taking to the Doug DeLuca produced show to perform her new single ‘Loved Me Back to Life‘.
During her time on the hit show, the ‘Tell Him‘ icon weighed in on how she feels her Vegas residency saw her perceived by the media, an ‘interesting’ run in with Prince, who she says refused to sign an autograph for her kids when he stopped by to see the show.
Many try, but very few R&B acts succeed in bridging the soul that keeps their fans enthralled with the ‘radio readiness’ they need to keep the casual consumer interested.
One of these acts to get it right all the time? None other than John Legend, the musical craftsman who released his latest piece of work ‘Love in the Future‘ to the world last week.
So, as to push the album to a world still very much in love with his authentic brand, he took to ‘Good Morning America’ to perform his new single ‘All of Me’!
That’s right guys, September 11th marks the arrival of X Factor USA‘s third season, packing more vocal driven fun than ever before.
One reason it’s ratings are set to rise this season? Kelly Rowland…the R&B veteran enlisted to select and subsequently a new batch of Pop hopefuls to glory with each passing week.
How she’s preparing for the task?
Well, the answer to that question lies in an interview given to the show recently, which sees the star speak openly on what fans can expect from both she and her fellow judges this time around!
The Caribbean gems that are Rihanna and Nicki Minaj struck a pose for fans yesterday, bumping each other the Alexander Wang Fashion Week after party in NYC!
Photographed hours after Rihanna continued to tease fans with a new release named ‘She’, the pair took to Minaj’s personal Instagram account to share the snap, now available to peep below!
During her time in the UK last week, Lady GaGa caught up with BBC Breakfast for an interview scheduled to push her brand new single ‘Applause’.
However, as is often the case when it comes to the peace purveyor, her fans got far more than they bargained for when the interview saw her speak frankly on her recent hip injury- revealing that she genuinely believed she’d never be able to perform again.
Honest, to say the least, the interview also saw her share her views on her relationship with fame and how she feels the lines between the ‘artist’ and the ‘celebrity’ have been blurred in recent years.
The latest season of The X Factor UK continued in fine form tonight. Unsurprisingly, with this being the audition phase, the talented and talent-challenged came out in equal measure for a crack at progressing to the next stage. Judging the hopefuls are new additions Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh, and returning panelist Sharon Osbourne.
{An international phenomenon, local versions show now air in the US, Italy, France and beyond. The brain-child of Simon Cowell, the show is responsible for birthing the careers of Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Cher Lloyd and JLS.}.
Now on a two-night-a-week airing format (Saturday – Audition Room / Sunday – Arena Audition For Those Who Go Through), the best and worst of this week’s hopefuls (audition room) await below. Be sure to check back tonight for the second (arena) auditions of those who got through!
