Disney’s ‘Mufasa: the Lion King’ may have roared to the top spot of global movie box offices not long after its December 20 release, but now it looks to be chasing similar success on music charts thanks to the rocking tunes that line its official soundtrack.

A standout from the set is undoubtedly ‘I Always Wanted a Brother’ – penned by EMMY, GRAMMY, and TONY Award-winning singer-songwriter-filmmaker Lin-Manuel Miranda.

I always wanted a brother / I always wanted a brother / I always wanted a brother / Just like you,” sings performers Braelyn Rankins and Theo Somolu as ‘Mufasa’ and ‘Taka’ (aka ‘Scar’).

With vocal contributions from the film’s leading stars Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison, Jr., ‘Brother’ is seeing its profile amplified thanks to a growing trend on Tik Tok and now an official music video dropped to Disney’s YouTube handle to capitalize on said momentum.

“Y’all boys lame s–t killing me/ Need to be reintroduced to humility/ I ain’t lookin for no hip-hop credibility/ Give a f–k who feelin me, I’m feelin me/ I’m really him, I’m really that remedy/ Himothée Chalamet, pretty girls salivate/ On the low, off the grid, in the cut, out the way/ My prime’s in full swing like a Callaway,” he raps.

Undoubtedly exciting viewers for what the Kentucky native will be serving up in 2025, look inside to see the action of ‘Tranquility.’
