Though many-a-performer blazed the stage last night at the 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards, the most talked about moment certainly came as budding pop icon Beyonce confirmed (in her own special way) her pregnancy.  Also in attendance was former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, who like many other celebrities in attendance, shared her thoughts on the announcement.

Beyonce‘s not the only R&B diva glowing.  Looks as though  ‘Free Yourself’ singer Fantasia found time to visit the beauty salon in a pic making its Twitter rounds over the weekend.  Though ordered to bed-rest and forced to cancel shows due to her pregnancy, the ‘When I See U’ songstress seemed to be wearing it well.

Although there were many buzzworthy moments from last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, one of the highlights was undoubtedly comeback kid’s Chris Brown‘s stage-blazing performance.  Though cheered on by celebrities and fans alike, one person didn’t look too entertained – rap mogul Jay-Z.

While the rap royal’s noted relationship with pop singer Rihanna has led many to believe he is not exactly atop Brown’s fanclub mailing list, he took that rumor to new heights with a Tweet from earlier today and his appearance during the ‘She Ain’t You’ singer’s live showing:

‘Blowing Money Fast (B.M.F.)’ rapper Rick Ross was caught on camera blowing off steam backstage with recent nemesis/glam rap starlet Kreayshawn.  The freestyle failure, who was nominated for the show’s ‘Best New Artist’ moonman, was being interviewed when the rap titan’s camp interrupted.  Needless to say, sparks flew.

Fans have not heard or seen much of Mario after his last album D.N.A. failed to make much of a dent on the charts.  However, with a new single and album in the works, that could be set to change.  Though originally said to feature mainly club bangers and Euro-pop numbers, the ‘Let Me Love You’ singer has let fans in on news that his yet-to-be-titled new album will now feature ‘classic R&B’ records.  Said to be hitting stores in late 2011 or early 2012, Barrett boasts the album will include features and production from Fabolous, The Underdogs, and more.

With his new Rico Love produced single ‘The Walls’ gearing up for radio release in less than a few weeks, Mario took to our friends at RapUp to share details:

Although pop princess Britney Spears recent Femme Fatale Tour stage showings would make The Tinman and department store mannequins proud, some spectators have not been so easily pleased.  While the ‘Gimme More’ singer has found herself more and more under fire for her stage mobility (or lack thereof), there’s one person who feels the criticism is undue – choreographer Brian Friedman.

Friedman, who lists Spears most recent hits ‘Hold It Against Me’ and ‘Til the World Ends’ to his choreography credits, has come for critics who are displeased with Brit’s dancing.

Looks like ‘A.M. To P.M.’ singer Christina Milian might be pulling double duty on ABC soon.  Aside from reportedly being in negotiations to ‘Dip It Low’ on Dancing With the Stars next season, Milian also has her sights on the small screen.

Essence reports:

“The mutli-talented singer and actress is said to be in negotiations to star in ABC Family’s newest show ‘Maid in Miami’. Milian would play a maid who also happens to be an aspiring singer.”

Things may be looking up for the former Mrs. Nash as the aforementioned ventures are said to be two of many Christina has been cooking up.  This, of course, would also include her ever-delayed album ‘Elope’.

Despite an early leak, industry forecasters are reporting that hip hop heavyweight Lil’ Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’ is still set to have an impressive debut on next week’s Billboard 200 -boasting sales of 700-850k.  If such is the case, the numbers would easily give him the highest tally of any solo male artist this year, and second overall (under Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’).

The forecasted numbers best that of fellow hip-hop heavyweights Jay-Z & Kanye West (who interestingly managed to release their album unleaked).  Regardless, ‘IV’ will mark Wayne’s 3rd no. 1 album and second highest first week sales behind ‘Tha Carter III’ (which sold a whopping 1 million its first week in 2008).
