Despite an early leak, industry forecasters are reporting that hip hop heavyweight Lil’ Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’ is still set to have an impressive debut on next week’s Billboard 200 -boasting sales of 700-850k. If such is the case, the numbers would easily give him the highest tally of any solo male artist this year, and second overall (under Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’).
The forecasted numbers best that of fellow hip-hop heavyweights Jay-Z & Kanye West (who interestingly managed to release their album unleaked). Regardless, ‘IV’ will mark Wayne’s 3rd no. 1 album and second highest first week sales behind ‘Tha Carter III’ (which sold a whopping 1 million its first week in 2008).

how can they forecast that stuff when retailers haven’t even start selling that yet. Probably some rumor Cash Money started to take focus off people saying the album is wack on twitter.
It’s not like the album has sold that much on preorders to actually track that.
Jay-z and Kanye’s album was a digital first week release with no leaks so of course they’re not gonna sell as much due to only being available through Itunes.
lil wayne will sell more than that.
