Alesha Dixon‘s latest round of promotional performances are no doubt seeing her fight not only for the success of her new single ‘Radio’, but also her record deal.

For, despite major Radio 1 backing, a US shot video, and her highly publicised role on Strictly Come Dancing, ‘Radio’ sits at an abysmal #101 on iTunes following its release this week. This on the heels of the chart disappointment that was ‘Drummer Boy’ – which too had many a high profile performance, as well as radio support and a pricey video, only to peak at #15 on the Official UK Singles Chart.

Needless to say, its hardly a successful start for her second studio LP ‘The Entertainer’, which hits stores tomorrow. With labels ever-ready to drop acts if projects don’t bring back adequate returns, it’s not looking good for Ms. Dixon…at all.

In any case, peep her latest performance of the song on Daybreak earlier this week.

Having recently scored a double Platinum hit with ‘Just A Dream’, many were surprised to see Nelly‘s latest LP ‘5.0’ under-perform on the Billboard 200 this week.

None more so than the Grammy winning rapper himself; who just moments ago took to Twitter to vent his frustrations at his label  Universal Motown – following the album’s #10 charting and 63,000 first week sales.

R&B singer Christina Milian enjoyed Thanksgiving this year with daughter Violet at the ‘Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! There’s a Party in My City!’ show.

Held at Los Angeles’ famed Nokia Theatre, the kids event was also attended by Kelis and her son Knight.

Randomness: Any one notice how we only see Christina out with the baby, and never The Dream. Just thinking out aloud…

This week’s That Grape Juice Cover Star is Kawana Monroe. The US native turns in a rousing rendition of Monica’s R&B hit ‘Love All Over Me’.

Check it out below:

Though lacking the horse-power of Monica’s original (a testament to Ms. Arnold’s vocal dexterity), Kawana certainly held her own. In adding her own adlibs and isms, Ms. Monroe garnished her version with an authenticity and personal stamp often lacking in song covers. Great performance.

The full version of Lil Kim’s ‘Black Friday’ has finally surfaced. The song, which features the Queen Bee slamming both Nicki Minaj and Drake, debuted today on Hot 97. Give it a listen below:

If Lil Kim didn’t have enough reason to dislike Nicki Minaj before then she certainly does now. In the December issue of Rolling Stone magazine Minaj has proclaimed the official “new Queen of Hip-Hop”. Read the article below:

I personally disagree with the statement as it is far too soon to bestow such a title on Minaj who only recently released her debut album. If anyone deserves that accolade then it is Missy Elliott because she has sold more records and had more hits than any other female MC. Still, this is just a matter of opinion.
