80’s Pop singer Sinitta has hinted that Mariah Carey may be up for the role of a judge on the US version of ‘The X-Factor’. The artist stated that media mogul Simon Cowell is currently trying to fill the judging panel with major celebrities and that his close friend Carey is considering the post. Nothing has been finalised yet but Cowell is reportedly determined to make sure that the show is a definite success. {Source}

Judging on this show could be both a good and bad situation for Carey. While it will give her the opportunity to continue to work on her new album and possibly get some inspiration from the experience (as well as a very large cheque), some may consider this move to be an indication that her star power is fading. Either way, this may very well be a great opportunity for Carey to further build her brand and share her wealth of musical knowledge with a new generation of singers.

Christina Aguilera and fellow vocal powerhouse Leona Lewis will be touring the US this summer. Tickets will be available for the 20-city show via Live Nation from May 19th. Furthermore, Aguilera’s camp has thrown in something extra for her fans who purchase tickets for the tour before June 4: they will receive a download code for a digital copy her ‘Bionic’ album on June 7. In what has to be one of the most random musical pairing in some time, Katy Perry has teamed up with Snoop Dogg for new single ‘California Gurls’. Produced by hitmaker Dr Luke, the song works surprisingly well – rolling into one simplistically stellar production (which gives a nod to early Madonna), an infectious sing-along-song chorus, and a killer verse from Snoop. Undoubtedly, a summer smash.
