80’s Pop singer Sinitta has hinted that Mariah Carey may be up for the role of a judge on the US version of ‘The X-Factor’. The artist stated that media mogul Simon Cowell is currently trying to fill the judging panel with major celebrities and that his close friend Carey is considering the post. Nothing has been finalised yet but Cowell is reportedly determined to make sure that the show is a definite success. {Source}
Judging on this show could be both a good and bad situation for Carey. While it will give her the opportunity to continue to work on her new album and possibly get some inspiration from the experience (as well as a very large cheque), some may consider this move to be an indication that her star power is fading. Either way, this may very well be a great opportunity for Carey to further build her brand and share her wealth of musical knowledge with a new generation of singers.

sounds great to me , i love mariah, always have and always will. she seems to be getting better with time., and shes one of our best of all times she has knocked, kicked and did away with walls in the industry to help pave the way for many, many artist, and shes still got it .!!!!!!!
its great that the new artist who has come into the industry since mariah and others , the new artist have got greats like mariah and others to look up to. that is how the life experiences go , you look to family, friends and others who have made it ,,, and from them you pave away for yourself.
you are a big person when you hear others say that i looked to mariah as i was growing up. i song mariahs song that is a honor and legends like mariah loves that . she do not see that as trying to infringe on her in no way style are form. because she knows what shes all about and shes not jealous and hateful if some one looks up to her . and that is what makes her the legend that she is .!!!!!!!!!

I’m not a fan of a lot of her newer music but I still love her as an uber talented pop legend. To see her mentoring up and coming artists is really what she needs to be doing with her life now, in my humble opinion, instead of putting out the lackluster song material and vocals she’s doing now.
I hope this is true! It could do for her what X-Factor did for Cheryl in the UK!

Sinitta is just trying to keep her name in the media. Who made her Simon Cowell’s spokes person? I would be surprised if any of this is true, Sinitta was saying that it was Cheryl Cole a few weeks ago. I think that they should have Jamelia…. or Brandy…. just someone black as they seems to have forgotten them on the U.K version.
This might actually get me to watch x factor. I love 1990-1997 and 2005 Mariah. Maybe this could help her get it back together. She did a great job guest judging the idols two years ago.

This would be a good look for Ms Carey, she is a living legend that had been in the music game for awhile and sold hundreds of millions of records. I would watch.
As for the people calling her a flop, no one can stay on top forever. Plus, even if Mariah never sold a record after today, she would still be one of the highest selling solo artists of all time. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, Mariah Carey has nothing to prove.
I think this is a good/bad idea… I think the feeling is mutual lol. I would love this if this were say Mariah 10yrs ago, who then seemed to have some sense of reality when it came to music. I think Mariah, who I reguarded (past tense) as an indirect musical educator, due to her range, skill, lyrical ability, and passion for the music. However I dont want her making some poor talented girl insecure because her dress aint short enough. However that same ‘bubble head’ image I have of her now, and the fact we all know she likes to get tipsy, might make her the XFACTOR ‘Paula Abdul’ lls. So who knows I hope it all works out… where do I audition

Mariah is among the greatest singers of all time and a true Legend. I would love to be able to watch her on a weekly basis on this show however I think she is much too big a Legend to be doing a tv show like this.
