That Grape Juice To Interview Ciara

That Grape Juice are pleased to confirm that we will be interviewing R&B star Ciara this Thursday! The 23 year old singer released her highly anticipated 3rd studio album ‘Fantasy Ride’ today and is currently on a promotional blitz in support of the record.

This particular interview has been in the workings for several months now, so I’m real glad a confirmed date has been set!

Anyway, do you have any questions for Ciara? As ever, please feel free to drop them in the comments section below. You all know the drill by now, only legitimate questions will be considered! Thanks 🙂

That Grape Juice Update

I’ve been itching to update you guys on a number of things for a while now, but have been procrastinating. So without further ado LOL…

* Keri Hilson Interview: Keri’s UK promo time was cut in half during her stay a few weeks back. Consequently, our time with her has been rescheduled to next month, when she hits the UK for on tour with Ne-Yo. Universal Music (UK) have assured that this will be going ahead. So please rest assured that we will be catching up with Keri in the weeks ahead.

* LeToya Interview: Still waiting on the status of the project as well as our re-scheduled slot.

* General Interview Tidbit: It can be (and is) very frustrating when these interviews get re-scheduled. However, anyone who knows the industry, knows that television and radio promotion are the label’s top priority – hence the regular rescheduling of internews. So, though reputable internet sites such as That Grape Juice are increasingly being viewed as great sources of promotion, it’ll be a while yet before the net, as a platform, is looked at in the same guise as TV and radio. The labels are listening though, which is a good thing.

I was considering scaling back / scrapping the ‘submit a question’ thing as it’s oh-so-annoying when interviews get re-scheduled or worse cancelled. However, I told myself to fall back LOL. I always say; I only want to do the sort of interview I’d want to read myself and not the same re-hashed interview an artist has given to the 10 publications before me and the 10 after. By allowing you, the That Grape Juice faithful, as well as artist’s fans, to submit questions, I feel, ultimately betters interview questions. So re-scheduling or not, I’mma keep throwing it back to you guys!

* Slow-Go: There is a lot legitimately going on behind the scenes, hence the slow-posting over the last few days. I ASSURE you, keep it locked on That Grape Juice over the coming days, weeks and months. A lot of exciting ish on the horizon…

Beyonce Performs ‘Crazy In Love’ In Prague (Professional Video Quality)

Beyonce’s ‘I Am…’ tour is steam-rolling itself through Europe, last night stopping in Prague. Peep Ms. Knowles-Carter tearing down the house with trademark hit ‘Crazy In Love’ in the video above, which was shot professionally and aired on Czech Republic television.

Though I’m sure it’s hard for the naysayers to swallow, but, say what you want, Bey really is the hottest chick in the game. No one, of this modern era, comes close when it comes to putting on a great performance.

Kelis Files For Divorce From Nas

Heavily pregnant R&B star Kelis, today, filed for divorce from husband of 4 years, rapper Nas. Peep the report below:

Kelis isn’t whipping up anymore milkshakes for Nas.
The pregnant R&B songstress is looking to divorce her hip-hop star hubby of more than four years, E! News confirmed Thursday.
“I can confirm that she has filed for divorce,” said a rep for Kelis, whose full name is Kelis Rogers-Jones. “We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time.”
She and Nas (full name Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones) tied the knot Jan. 8, 2005, in Atlanta after a two-year engagement. The pair are expecting their first child together—a son—this summer. Nas has a teenage daughter from a previous relationship. {Source}

WOW! I can’t say I saw this one coming. After being together for so long (in Hollywood years, of course), I really saw these two as the standard-bearers of how industry relationships can stand the test of time. I’m definitely anticipating the reasons for the divorce; I can only imagine it’ll be some drama…

Beenie Man Trashes Chris Brown – With Rihanna On Stage

During Rihanna’s most recent return to Barbados this past weekend, the 21 year old joined Beenie Man onstage at the ‘Reggae On The Hill’ music festival.

While giving a rendition of Ms. Fenty’s ‘Umbrella’, the dancehall legend switched up the lyrics, and took aim at Chris Brown, singing:

“Me no have no fancy car, but me nah give you no scar”

Is it wrong to find this just a tad funny?! LOL. That said, it must not have been that comfortable of a situation for Rihanna who, after waving to the crowd for a bit, walked off the stage – seemingly ignoring Beenie Man’s requests to come back on. Ouch…

There really seems to be no holding back Lil’ Kim on Dancing With The Stars! After a not-so-impressive showing on last week’s show, Kim bounced back this week achieving the top score of the night for her and dance partner Derek Hough’s performance of the Paso Doble. More power to her.
