The video for Bow Wow’s latest single ‘You Can Get It All (ft. Johnta Austin)’ premiered today. Directed by Hype Williams, the clip – which was shot on Malibu Beach, is pretty much ‘standard’. The song, too, which features on Bow Wow’s forthcoming ‘New Jack City II’ LP (due March 31st) doesn’t show anything in the way of artist growth on Bow Wow’s part; not even the TLC ‘Baby Baby Baby’ sample could save this one on the production tip either. Sub-par.

After a lengthy hiatus from the music scene following the abysmal performance of her last LP ‘Brave’ and the birth of her twins, Jennifer Lopez is prepping a return to the limelight. Word has it the singer/actress is readying a greatest hits set, which will also feature new material – ‘Hooked On You’, reportedly, being one of them. Produced by Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins Chris & Teeb, the song unsurprisingly bares striking similarity to Janet Jackson’s ‘Feedback’, also a Jerkins produced cut, with its aggressive, thumping, club-ready beat underpinned by Lopez’s ‘soft’ vocals.
Though this isn’t a ‘Feedback’ (Janet hit a homerun with that…she needs another ‘FB’ IMO), this one sounds like a winner. Jenny’s lacking/annoying vocals (at times) aside, the production on this is *hot hot hot*, while the bridge and “My neck and my back” nod spelt *S-W-A-G-G-A*

Superstar Beyonce took to the stage at last night’s 81st Annual Academy Awards to perform a rousing medley called ‘Musicals Are Back’ alongside Hugh Jackman, Dominic Cooper, Amanda Seyfried, and High School Music stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.
The Baz Lurhmann produced performance was awesome (even though mimed – it’s understandable)! Beyonce really shone and it was great seeing her give renditions of songs we’ve yet to hear her put a spin on such as ‘Lady Mamalade’.

As the release of The-Dream’s sophomore album ‘Love Vs Money’ draws nearer (March 10th), a new song from the LP has surfaced called ‘Walking On The Moon’. Put simply, the Electro-Funk cut is sheer brilliance! Everything from Dream’s flow, to Kanye rapping as himself again (sans autotune LOL) to the subliminal, yet spot-on nod to the Michael Jackson ‘Off The Wall’ sound, this is one is definitely a winner. Word has it, Dream’s label head, Def Jam honcho LA Reid, is particularly big on this track, envisioning ‘Umbrella’- esq success for the track. I guess time will tell, but a great, great nonetheless. {Thanks Jay!}

Rihanna Finally Breaks Silence
After nearly two weeks of silence following her assault at the hands of Chris Brown, Rihanna has finally broken her silence – albeit via her publicist:

“At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown. She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.”

We posted the clip of R&B star Brandy performing at the Pistons v Grizzlies NBA game earlier this week. Since then, the videos of the 30 year old’s performance of ‘Right Here’ and ‘Long Distance’ have surfaced. You can check them out below:

Right Here (Departed)

Long Distance

Great performances! I’m really loving how she switches the song(s) up ever-so subtlety each to she performs.
‘Human’ is out now!

Kelly Rowland To Host 'Project Runway' Replacement
As Kelly Rowland continues to ready her third solo album for release later this year, the ‘Like This’ singer has been announced as the host of Bravo’s new fashion show – which is to replace ‘Project Runway’:
Former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland, designer Isaac Mizrahi and Senior Vice President of IMG Fashion Fern Mallis will serve as host and a judge respectively on Bravo’s upcoming design show, The Fashion Show.
The Project Runway-replacement follows professional designers as they compete for a chance to have their designs sold by a major retail outlet. The designers will face off in challenges and have their fate determined not only by the judges, but also by a studio audience.
It was announced last year that Project Runway would be moving to Lifetime. {Source}

This certainly sounds like it’ll be a good look for Ms. Kelly. More power to her…

New Song: Ciara - 'Love, Sex & Magic (ft. Justin Timberlake)'
Though the release date of Ciara’s ‘Fantasy Ride’ LP is a still a few months away (April 7th), more new material from the set continues to surface – this time, a collaboration with label-mate Justin Timberlake called ‘Love, Sex & Magic’. The funk-inspired cut, which was also produced by Timberlake, may sound familiar, as his demo version of the track was making the rounds on the ‘net a late last year. Put simply, about the song, I’m liking this one – although it does feel like something, which I can’t put my finger on is missing.
Interestingly, this is set to be the next single from ‘Fantasy Ride’, with CiCi and Justin filming the video today(!) in New York with Diane Martel who was at the directorial helm of ‘Promise’ and ‘Like A Boy.’
As CiCi’s current single  ‘Never Ever’ continues to struggle on the charts, we want to know…
Do you think ‘Love, Sex & Magic’ will save ‘Fantasy Ride’?

Police Pic: Rihanna After Chris Brown 'Assault'
TMZ have obtained a police pic taken of Rihanna following her ‘assault’ by boyfriend Chris Brown. And yes, it really is Rihanna (peep the shoulder tattoo on the right).
WOW! Shocking stuff, no doubt. No matter what spin is put on this, I really do see this being curtains for Chris Brown’s career – whatever his reasoning. By the time this pic makes the rounds (which I know it is as I type), there will be little question as to the severity of the ‘attack’.

Rihanna's Record Sales Rocket Following 'Assault'As many a media outlet continue to pimp the Chris Brown and Rihanna drama, the age old adage of ‘any publicity is good publicity’ is showing itself to be true, as Rihanna’s record sales have soared following the incident:
Rihanna has seen an increase in US sales of her Good Girl Gone Bad album following the recent press coverage of her alleged altercation with Chris Brown.
Sales of the 20-year-old star’s third LP have surged by 31% amid allegations that she was attacked by Brown.
The record has risen to 31 in the US Billboard Album chart, while Chris Brown’s 2007 album Exclusive failed to register in the Top 200.
Meanwhile, the singer’s collaboration with T.I. ‘Live Your Life’ is at number 16 in the Billboard Hot 100, with solo single ‘Disturbia’ at 33. {Source}
Though some of you disagreed with me, I repeat that I feel Ms. Fenty will be the real winner in all of this. Disclaimer (LOL): By no means did she deserve what went down and we don’t condone violence, but IMO her career will ultimately benefit from this all.

R&B star Brandy performed the US national anthem – The Star Spangled Banner – at the Pistons v Grizzlies NBA game on Marin Luther King day recently.
Though not the best rendition of the song I’ve heard, still a great effort on Ms. Norwood’s part. Good stuff.
