Remy Ma & Papoose To Marry Today According to The NY Daily News, Remy Ma will marry fellow rapper Papoose today – in jail:

Wedding bells will ring Monday for jailed hip-hop star Remy Ma, who plans to marry her boyfriend, rapper Papoose, on Rikers Island, a source cloPapoosese to the rapper said.

The jailhouse ceremony will take place just a day before Ma is sentenced for shooting an ex-pal during a squabble over money in the Meatpacking District last year.

Ma, 26, whose real name is Remy Smith, and the Brooklyn-born Papoose, nee Shamele Mackie, will each be allowed two guests for the wedding.

Just 24 hours later, Grammy-nominated rapper Ma will face up to 25 years in prison for shooting Makeda Barnes-Joseph in the stomach last July.

A mess.

Janet Jackson - 'Can't Be Good' (Red Rat Remix) It would appear Janet Jackson’s stalled ‘Discipline’ project is set to be given a renewed lease of life. There are murmurings that this remix of album cut (and supposed new single) ‘Can’t Be Good’, courtesy of Jamaican star Red Rat, will feature on a re-packaged version of the LP.
About the track…hmm…it’s ok, I guess. Considering I’m not at all a big fan of the original, it’s hardly surprising that this doesn’t really move me. If there is truth to the talk of re-release, I say drop a completely new/unheard cut, followed by what the masses seem to be liking most – ‘LUV’ and/or ‘2Nite’. Though, by no means a masterpiece, ‘Discipline’ does have a lot of ‘hit single’ potential; potential that if wasted would be real unfortunate.

It’s great to see the same Will Smith that we all know and love from ‘The Fresh Prince’ doing big things in Hollywood these days. Judging by this trailer, the 39 year old actor’s latest effort, superhero flick ‘Hancock’, looks to be winner. The action-packed movie is set to hit theatres on July 1st.

Will you be going to see ‘Hancock’?

Chris Brown - 'Superhuman' (ft. Keri Hilson) Teen R&B star has joined forces with Keri Hilson for this brand new cut titled ‘Superhuman’. Set to feature on the re-release of Chris’ sophomore effort ‘Exclusive’, the track is much better than I had anticipated. The oddly matched pair trade verses over the R&B/Pop inspired mid-tempo production, meshing surprisingly well. Perhaps the re-release will be worth it after all. ‘Exclusive: the Forever Edition’ hits stores June 3rd.

Bad Boy’s Cassie is currently readying her still-untitled sophomore LP for a September release. In the meanwhile, another cut from the set has surfaced – the Bryan Michael Cox produced ‘2 The Morning’. I’ll be honest in saying that I greet much of Cassie’s material with a lot of scepticism (for obvious reasons), however I’m really feeling this. B. Cox switched it up from his trademark ‘crunk ballad’, delivering a sure-fire club banger in the process; and, let’s face it, a Cassie track is only as good as its beat.

Rapper Nelly co-headlined the 2nd day of the BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend. During his set he was joined by Kelly Rowland to perform their smash ‘Dilemma’. Check out their performance below:

Granted Nelly forgot some of the words (which they convincingly played down), I liked the performance – the crowd seemed to as well.

What do you think of the performance?

Cherish - 'I Ain't Trippin'‘I Ain’t Trippin’ is a cut from Cherish’s solid sophomore ‘The Truth’, due this coming Tuesday (May 13th). Produced by Tricky Stewart, the song, with it’s club-driven beat and the girls’ tightflow, is defnitely a winner IMO.

Michelle Williams - 'We Break The Dawn' (Remix) (ft. Flo-Rida) Check out this new remix of Michelle Williams’ single ‘We Break The Dawn’, featuring rapper Flo-Rida. I’m really liking this; the more Urban-inspired beat knocks, while still complimenting the song’s overall flow.
In other Michelle news, starting tomorrow you can log on to Music.AOL.Com and go to the sections marked the Boom Box & Popeater to see exclusive making the video footage from Michelle’s shoot all leading up to the AOL May 15th premiere of the ‘We Break the Dawn’ video

Usher Performs At BBC Radio 1's 'Big Weekend' R&B star Usher performed here in the UK at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend festival yesterday. Co-headlining with Madonna, the Grammy award winning singer delivered a set filled with a mixture of past hits and material from his forthcoming album ‘Here I Stand’ (due May 27th). Check out the set list as well as the full show below {Thanks Zach}:

Set List

This Ain’t Sex
You Make Me Wanna
You Remind Me
You Don’t Have To Call
Mountains
Confessions parts I & II
You Got It Bad
Burn
Here I Stand
What’s Ya Name?
Yeah
Love In This Club

Perhaps because he’s been away for so long, but despite putting on an entertaining set, I was left a little underwhelmed by Usher’s showing last night. To be honest, I didn’t really see much artistic/performing progression since the last time he was out. Saying that, many a artist wish to have even half of his performing capabilities.

Our good friend B. Scott recently caught up with R&B singer Teairra Marí. The 20 year old former protegee of Jay-Z discussed her severing ties with Def Jam/ Roc-A-Fella, Rihanna and, of course, her Interscope debut. Check it out:

Great interview. I’m personally rooting for Teairra because, IMO, she definitely was the more talented out of her and Rihanna. Here’s hoping labels and the industry at large start pumping funds and huge marketing campaigns into the genuinely talented as opposed to those who ‘learn on the job’. SMH…
