Michelle Williams On The Set Of 'We Break The Dawn' Video

Destiny’s Child star Michelle Williams shot the video for her new single ‘We Break The Dawn’ this past Wednesday. Wow, she really is keeping within this ‘Unexpected’ theme; I really didn’t anticipate Michelle channeling her inner-diva as much as the pics convey. She looks stunning. Be on the lookout for the video’s premiere in the weeks ahead.

The winners of CW’s ‘Pussycat Dolls Presents: Girlicious’ were revealed yesterday; Nicole, Natalie, Chrystina and Tiffany are the ladies who made the final cut. During the show, the video for the group’s debut single ‘Like Me premiered alongside the clip for their buzz single ‘Stupid Sh*t’. Check out both vids below:

Like Me

Wow. For a new group they are pretty good, real polished. Though the song is hardly groundbreaking, it’s processed, ‘fast-food’ music at its best. The striking similarities between Girlicious and the Pussycat Dolls can be attributed to the fact they were both founded/managed by Robin Antin – the brainchild behind PCD’s success. IMO these girls possess more potential for the simple fact that a) there isn’t 10+ of them whose names are a mystery and b) *all* of the members actually sing. With Danity Kane running things at the moment, Pussycat Dolls due out very soon and now Girlicious, the girl-group scene is heating up this year. Check out the girls ‘Stupid Sh*t’ video..which is well…as the title suggests (LOL) below:

Jennifer Lopez To Star In Reality Show According to reports, Jennifer Lopez is set to produce and star in her own reality show for TLC networks:

The new show, which is currently in production, will follow the actress, singer and producer as she mothers her two newborn babies, Max and Emme, and manages other aspects of her career, including launching a new fragrance. Lopez said regarding the project: “I’m thrilled to be part of the TLC family. I’m looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together.” {Source}

I guess when all else fails, reality TV is the way to go. In all fairness to Jennifer, this may actually give her a platform to try and salvage what’s left of her music career.

Will you be checking for J. Lo’s reality show?

UK singing sensation Leona Lewis performed her chart-topping single ‘Bleeding Love’ on American Idol last night. Check out the performance below:

She nailed it! With the undeniably huge audience that American Idol commands, this was, perhaps, Leona’s biggest showing in the US to date, so it was great to see her do us proud. After this, it wouldn’t surprise me if the song ascends to the top of the Hot 100 again. Great performance.

Random: UK’ers, Leona’s doing it BIG right now, does anyone remember Leon Jackson LMAO?!

It appears the release of R. Kelly’s forthcoming album ’12 Play: 4th Quarter’ may be sooner than we think; the video for the LP’s first single ‘Hairbraider’ premiered yesterday. For his sake, this had better be a buzz single of sorts, as it’s not cutting it as a lead single at all. With Kelly’s last few releases, it’s been the great singles that have compensated for, otherwise, lackluster records IMO; so, dropping this kinda has me wondering about what the album will be serving up.

Carey's 'E=MC²' Soars Straight To #1 Mariah Carey and Island Def Jam will have much for celebration this week; the diva’s latest LP ‘E=MC²’ landed atop of the Billboard 200 chart after selling a whopping 463,000 copies in the US in its first week. The figures are a career best for Carey, whose previous highest debut was 2005’s ‘Mimi’ which also bowed at #1 selling 404,000 units in its premiere week.
Carey now stands beside Janet Jackson and Madonna as having the second most #1 albums among female artists (6 a piece). With 8 #1 albums to her name, Barbara Streisand remains in the lead. {Source}
Congratulations to Mimi. Yes random, but I’m gonna need Ms. Jackson to get her stuff together and make this ‘Discipline’ project work. Mariah and Madonna are showing that age isn’t a factor, it’s the machine you have behind you. Hopefully Janet/her people get things moving – and fast.

Usher - 'Love In The Club' (Part II) (ft. Beyonce & Lil' Wayne)Fresh off the chart-topping success of Usher’s ‘Love In The Club’, ‘Part II’ has surfaced featuring Beyonce and Lil’ Wayne. New vocals, new production, new everything. I’m actually feeling this a lot more than the original. Awesome.

R&B star Mario continues to shine on Dancing With The Stars. Check out his performance of the Rumba with partner Karina on this week’s show:

SMH at Len Goodman calling them ‘the Strumpet and the Giggalo’. In any case, it’s good to see Mario doing his thing.

The video for Alicia Keys’ new single ‘Teenage Love Affair’ made its debut today. Inspired by Spike Lee’s movie ‘School Daze’, the video serves as one of Alicia’s best clips to date. The engaging concept captured the essence of the song’s lyrical content fantastically. Seeing the stunningly beautiful Alicia get her little choreography on, a rarity, was also nice touch. Great song, even better video.

Swizz Beats & Mashonda SplitAccording to AllHipHop.com, super producer Swizz Beats and wife of four years R&B singer Mashonda are to divorce. The news comes just a year after the couple welcomed their first child Kassem Jr. Check out the report:

A representative for Swizz Beatz didn’t specify the reason for the separation, but stated the split was “on amicable terms.”

“Their union was one shared in love and deep admiration for one another. For the last seven months, the two have been working on establishing a formidable friendship, being great parents to their son, and remaining great supporters of each other’s careers,” a representative told AllHipHop.com. “The couple has asked that their privacy be respected at this time.”

Despite a looming divorce, the pair will move forward with their entrepreneurial and musical efforts.

Swizz is presently working on a follow-up album to his 2007 sophomore CD, One Man Band Man.

Mashonda is expected to launch an upscale swimwear line, a new venture in music, and hopes to found an arts-based school for children.

That’s a shame. Word has it that, despite the ‘we’re still friends’ statement put out, the split is in fact very messy. I’m beginning to wonder if industry relationships can actually last the distance…

Fergie - 'Labels Or Love' As earlier reported, Pop star Fergie recorded the opening number to the much-hyped ‘Sex & The City’ movie (in theatres May 27th); the track itself, ‘Labels Or Love’, surfaced today. Sampling the popular show’s theme tune, the song will most appeal to fans of the Fergie/Black Eyed Peas sound. Pretty decent. I must say though, I’m more looking forward to Jennifer Hudson’s confirmed contribution to the soundtrack.
