Christina Aguilera stunned her dedicated fans (affectionately called #Fighters) when she took to press earlier this month to announce she would be toasting the 25th anniversary of her eponymous debut album with a live remake of the nearly Diamond-selling project.

Presented by Spotify, the specialty project was released Monday (September 23).

And while updated takes on the LP’s beloved hits like ‘Genie In a Bottle,’ ‘I Turn To You,’ and ‘Come On Over’ sent listeners into a frenzy, it’s the reimagined version of ‘What a Girl Wants’ featuring current music “it girl” Sabrina Carpenter that’s really rubbing listeners the right way.

The unexpected union not only sees the two Pop divas trade verses on the classic cut while being backed by powerhouse, Gospel choir-inspired singers, but it also sees Xtina remind why she is revered as one of the greatest vocalists of her generation.

‘Try Me Again‘ hitmaker Kim Burrell didn’t take kindly to being tried again by enthusiastic churchgoers who wanted to sing along during one of her live performances.

The embattled Gospel icon, who infamously endured backlash in the past for publicly condemning the LGBTQ+ community and dissing unattractive churchgoers, also found herself unceremoniously slammed by social media commenters in January for demanding church attendees be quiet while she was leading the worship service.
