Mariah Carey was a number of superstars to grace the stage at the Global Citizen Festival: New York 2022. 

Residing at Central Park, the event – which ran alongside a companion spectacle in Accra, Ghana – was mounted to raise funds for the charity’s mission to end extreme poverty.

Taking vocal flight, Mimi soared with powerful renditions of the now 6x Platinum ‘We Belong Together,’ ‘Hero,’ and Latto collaboration ‘Big Energy’ (which, of course, interweaves Carey’s own classic ‘Fantasy’).

Tems has been waving the flag for the motherland since breaking through on an international scale.

The seismic spectacle took place at Black Star Square and ran parallel to a companion extravaganza in New York City.

During her dynamic set, Tems electrified with worldwide smash ‘Essence,’ ‘Crazy Tings,’ and ‘Damages.’

Next May the masses will meet ‘The Mother’ on Netflix.

Jennifer Lopez headlines the action flick in the titular role.

Directed by Niki Caro, the narrative centers on a female assassin (played by J.Lo) who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter that she gave up earlier in life while dodging dangerous entities.

Lopez stars in ‘The Mother’ alongside Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick, Lucy Paez, Paul Raci, and Gael Garcia Bernal.

Taylor Swift is no stranger to headlines – even when not actively courting them.

Such was the case this week when the Pop titan was thrust into speculation about who will be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show 2023 in Pheonix, Arizona.

With Apple Music announced as the new Halftime Show sponsor replacing Pepsi, social media and the newswire went wild with buzz about Swift being the top pick. For, the contractual conflict presented by her long-running Cola-Cola deal is no longer a factor.

Now, though, another hurdle has been cited by sources as the cause for the singer missing out on festivities.

2022 has seen Nicki Minaj back on a number of fronts.

Tonight saw the femcee play to a hometown crowd at Rolling Loud New York 2022 and make history in the process. Because the superstar became the first female rapper to headline the festival solo.

Showing up and showing out, Onika rocked the audience with hits such as ‘Super Bass,’ ‘Moment for Life,’ ‘Chun-Li,’ and ‘Feeling Myself.’

Guests during her set included Lil Uzi Vert, Fivio Foreign, Bia, and G Herbo.
