Following a statement from FIFA yesterday, it appeared Jennifer Lopez‘s team scored an own-goal yesterday by cancelling the diva’s performance at the World Cup Opening Ceremony.

After all, with new album ‘A.K.A’ due in stores next week, the global visibility alone is the kind of promotion most artists dream of.

Thankfully, it seems this is a memo Team J.Lo now understand. Because, in a sensational turn-around, they have confirmed that the stage blazer will indeed be living up to her billing and performing We Are One (Ole Ola) at the Brazilian extravaganza alongside Pitbull and Claudia Leitte.

Over the course of their illustrious career, TLC have been no stranger to controversy.

Last week saw the group’s surviving members T-Boz and Chilli engulfed in exactly that after an interview with an Australian news outlet seemingly saw them “take aim” at Rihanna.

In the segment that aired, the Grammy winning duo supposedly slam the Bajan star for her barely-there outfits.

Naturally, the model-with-a-mic charged back, which subsequently encouraged her fans to do the same.

The result? An onslaught of online abuse aimed at TLC by RiRi’s Navy.

Clearly exhausted by the foolery, T-Boz and Chilli sat down with Yahoo Down Under to clarify their comments – which they insist were cleverly edited and had nothing to with Rihanna at all.

July 9th brings with it the debut of Halle Berry‘s new CBS show ‘Extant’.

Already a critic’s favourite following the announcement of new shows for the 2015 TV season, the Steven Spielberg production looks set to hook viewers in too.

Billed as a Sci-Fi drama, the series centers on the life of Molly Wood (played by Berry).

After a 13 month stint in space, the astronaut returns…pregnant. What happens next has very real ramifications for Wood and for the whole of humanity.

It’s a ‘Think Like A Man Too’ takeover at ESSENCE Magazine this week.

As reported, the female stars of the comedy feature a-front of the July issue of the publication – which we’ve now learned they share with their male co-stars.

Kevin Hart, Romany Malco, Michael Ealy, and director Will Packer style and profile on their cover, which along with the ladies version hits newsstands tomorrow (June 6th).

Speaking on the movie, a sequel to 2012 original, Packer said:

“It was almost magical the way we picked up right where we left off. That’s on- and off screen. There was such chemistry between that cast. The fact is that this crew really is a family…”

‘Think Like A Man Too’ hits US theaters on June 20th.

In a move few saw coming, Leona Lewis has waved goodbye to Sony’s Syco Music – her label home since winning The X Factor in 2007.

More than just an internal shift, the songbird has departed the Sony Music umbrella altogether and taken flight to rival label Universal, where she has inked a lucrative deal with Island Records.
