The annual event – designed to shine a spotlight on “every beautiful aspect of Black culture” – celebrated its second anniversary Wednesday (February 23) by assembling some of Hip Hop & R&B’s brightest to honor Black-owned businesses across the country.

From restaurants to hair salons and more, stars like Lizzo, H.E.R., Ari Lennox, Big Sean, Muni Long, Jonathan McReynolds, MoneyBagg Yo, Kierra Sheard, turned the venues into stages to show off their talents and respective hits.

AMC Networks invites the masses to journey down ’61st Street’ this April.

Emmy Award winner Courtney B. Vance headlines the two-season event – which is executive produced by Michael B. Jordan by way of his Outlier Society imprint, David Shanks, and BAFTA-winner Peter Moffat.

The series uncovers the underbelly of the infamous Chicago criminal justice system; it follows the police and prosecutor investigation of a deadly drug bust that runs the risk of unraveling the cop code of silence.

Vance leads an ensemble cast, which includes Oscar-nominee Aunjanue Ellis, Mark O’Brien, Holt McCallany, Tosin Cole, Andrene Ward-Hammond, and Bentley Green.

Today sees fans of Madea say “hellur” to a brand new installment of Tyler Perry‘s beloved franchise with the arrival of ‘A Madea Homecoming’ on Netflix. 

The eagerly anticipated movie serves as the matriarch’s first adventure on the streamer and marks the first global release for the film series.

In this flick, the drama centers on Madea’s great-grandson’s college graduation.

Festivities take a turn when shocking secrets boil to the surface. Unless the family can dissolve their differences, the melee threatens to melt the tight-knit unit forever.

That Grape Juice‘s Chet Kincaid sat down with the prolific Perry, who dished on reviving Madea, the changes with this incarnation of the franchise, and needing to smoke a blunt to get through the Beyonce-inspired “MA-Chella.”
