Over the years, That Grape Juice has established a distinguished voice that – whether loved or loathed – sparks discussion, debate, and on occasion drama!

Though comprised of seasoned writers who share a similar outlook on Urban Pop culture, the idiosyncrasies of the TGJ team members often lend for quite heated debates “behind the scenes” about the hottest topics.

Now, we give you a front-row seat to the show. In a format similar to ‘The View’ or ‘The Real’, TGJ editors – Sam, Rashad, Joe, and Ryan – get real in a very candid way.

A problem is exactly what the competition has on its hands thanks to the Hot 100 storm of Nicki Minaj‘s new single, ‘Do We Have a Problem?’

The Lil Baby-assisted single, the leading effort from Minaj’s yet-titled, forthcoming fifth studio album, erupted onto digital music platforms February 4 on the strength of a star-studded, cinematic music video (featuring ‘Power‘ star Joseph Sikora and others).

Not even 48 hours after its unveiling, the Papi Yerr-produced bop flew to the top of real-time Apple Music, Spotify, and iTunes sales and streaming tallies – bids that, as the updated Hot 100 reveals, were key to ensuring its placement at #2 on this week’s chart.

Four months after Chris Brown made headlines for tying Bruno Mars as the second best-selling male singer in the history of digital music (as we reported here), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirms C. Breezy has breezed past his ‘Grenade’-singing counterpart to claim the runner-up title by his lonesome.

What was thought to just be a wild weekend for Kanye West shows no sign of slowing thanks to a pair of Instagram posts that see him continue his tirade in attempt to win Kim Kardashian back.

As we reported here, the GRAMMY winner has taken aim at the media mogul’s new boyfriend – comic Pete Davidson – in a slew of slamming social media posts and even songs.  Further, he’s even distancing himself from friends who he believes are supporting the ‘SNL’ star (i.e. Kid Cudi, Bob Iger, and others).

Yet, despite the very public disses, West wants to reassure his fans he has no ‘beef’ with Kardashian – regardless of the narrative he believes is being pushed to suggest the contrary.

If critical acclaim and fan response are any indication, K. Michelle will be scooching up R&B charts next week with her latest single, ‘Scooch.’

The Lil Ronnie-produced mid-tempo has been banging its way up real-time and streaming tallies since its February 11 premiere – a feat aided by its live performance debut on the EMMY-winning talk show ‘The Real’ the same day.

While there, Michelle not only blazed the stage but also dished on the killer success of her Lifetime reality show, ‘My Killer Body,’ and why ‘I’m the Problem’ (the parent album of ‘Scooch’) will be her last foray into R&B before releasing her long-awaited and heavily teased Country album.

Did you miss the action when it first aired? No worries; we’ve got you covered.

No matter what Billboard reads at the beginning of every week, the #1 song in America will always be its cherished National Anthem.

Though a beacon of American pride, it’s become a playground for many singers – both aspiring and seasoned.

Today, From The Vault takes you back to a rather controversial rendition of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ by the one and only Christina Aguilera.

In 2010, Aguilera released her ill-fated fourth English album, ‘Bionic.’ Unlike its predecessors, it never set the charts alight and was unfairly panned by critics.

With her then-latest effort underperforming and an odd media-orchestrated “feud” with Lady Gaga (who was on top of the world at that very time), it seemed there wasn’t much goodwill for Ms. Christina at the beginning of the 2010s.

So what better way to turn things around than singing the National Anthem at the Superbowl? Indeed, no gimmick, just Christina and that voice. What could go wrong, right?

Unfortunately, the performance made headlines. But not for the best of reasons: despite serving a solid vocal, Xtina seemed to have forgotten a few words of the famed anthem.

The blowback was monumental for the star, but she was able to redeem herself a few weeks later when she tackled yet another classic, ‘Ain’t No Way’ by the legendary Aretha Franklin at the GRAMMY Awards. By the time ‘The Voice’ launched its very first season with her as a part of the coaching panel, all was forgotten.

Clearly, that performance was not giving Whitney, but thankfully it wasn’t giving Fergie either.

Here’s to many more memorable renditions of the US National Anthem, good, bad, and in between.

Moments ago, Grammy Award-nominated country music artist Mickey Guyton rocked Super Bowl 56 with a stirring rendition of the U.S. national anthem.

Joining a hallowed list of vocalists who have performed the historic number to open a Super Bowl (i.e. Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, P!nk, Faith Hill, Cher, and others), Guyton took to the Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium ahead of the Bengals vs. Rams game Sunday (February 13) with a triumphant take on ‘The Star Spangled Banner.’

Undoubtedly one that will have people talking for years to come, look inside to see how Mickey fared:
