From Whitney Houston and Patti LaBelle to Diana Ross, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, and more, Mariah Carey – one of the most legendary singers to ever grace a mic – has had her fair share of unforgettable moments on stage and in the studio with some equally iconic vocalists.
To the surprise of her fans (affectionately called #Lambs), she also managed to score recording time with the two biggest names in Pop music history despite said recordings never seeing the light of day: Prince and Michael Jackson.
While Carey admitted her song with the Purple One was never finished, she recently dished openly with Andy Cohen on BRAVO’s ‘Watch What Happens Live (WWHL)‘ (October 1) about her duet with the King of Pop being locked, loaded, and ready to go.
Hear why she said music lovers have yet to hear their musical union.
Only a handful of artists can boast having gained Mariah Carey‘s approval for tributes over the years (see: Yolanda Adams, Karen Clark-Sheard, Joe, Patti LaBelle, Tori Kelly, Kelly Rowland, etc.), but – even with the thumbs up delivered to their respective performances – the Songbird Supreme has made supremely clear that she’s not the biggest fan of people doing her songs.
As JT learned, BIA wasn’t the only femcee Cardi B reignited beef with thanks to the release of her long-awaited sophomore album ‘Am I the Drama‘ on Friday (September 19).
In fact, Cardi (born Belcalis Almanzar) not only took aim at the City Girls star but also her famous rapper boyfriend Lil Uzi Vert via the LP’s track ‘Magnet.’
“She just mad she got a n***a she be sharin’ bags with / My n***a cheat, but I don’t stick no dildos in his ass, b***h / You look a hot mess, easily impressed-ass b*tch / You never gave looks, you started getting dressed-ass b***h,” Almanzar rapped in the song over Pooh Beatz production.
After tweeting and deleting a clap back referring to Cardi as a “guitar body” with a “PH balance that will fry whole fish,” JT returned to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday (September 23) with another stinging response – this time taking aim at Almanzar’s boyfriend and baby father Stefon Diggs.
