With Mariah Carey‘s ‘Merry Christmas One & All Tour’ launching in California on November 15, the diva – already notorious for dominating the holidays with her perennial hit ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ – has left few stones unturned in promotion of the North American trek as well as other yuletide ventures.

After tackling ‘TODAY,’ ‘Good Morning America,’ ‘ABC News,‘ ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ and others in support of all the seasonal efforts, the Songbird Supreme flew to ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show‘ for Wednesday’s episode (November 15) to dish even more.

When not discussing her love of Christmas, the 5-time GRAMMY winner reflected on her storied career by remembering unforgettable moments with Aretha Franklin and Prince.

From her favorite holiday songs to her favorite holiday movies and traditions, Mariah talked all things Christmas with her ‘Oh Santa’ co-star.

When not cracking the audience up with a hilarious Aretha story about her stint with the music royal on 1998’s ‘Divas Live,’ Carey talked extensively about her love of another late legend: Prince.

“I went to Paisley Park and I was there with an idea to sample ‘Nasty Girl’ by Vanity (which he wrote) when I was doing my album ‘Glitter‘ (which became a complete debacle),” she regaled. “He didn’t think that was a great idea because he really didn’t like people sampling other people’s songs.”

After the Purple One passed on Mimi’s original idea, she says she presented a melody to him to an unwritten song.

“We kind of like worked on it…I was so nervous because it was Princein the studio,” she shared before revealing the icon ultimately left it to her to finish the would-be ballad. “We didn’t finish the song and I’ll never forgive myself for that.”

The J.Hud chat hit the Web just moments before Carey’s exclusive interview with ‘Access Hollywood.’

Taking to the platform to dish on her recently announced performance at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), the diva revealed the showing had already been taped and even gave hints about what viewers can expect.

“You might be see ice skating and you could possibly see snow,” she told resident anchor Scott Evans.

Later, Mariah revealed she tapped the legendary, EMMY-winning choreographer, director, and producer Debbie Allen to curate the showing.

“This was fun because we had Miss Debbie Allen doing it and putting it together; she’s the queen of all that [like] doing performances and she’s everywhere doing everything,” she said. “We’re lucky (for me) she’s doing this. She put together an amazing team.”

We’ll find out what the two icons cooked up when the BBMAs air on BBMAs.watch on Sunday (November 19).
