For fashionistas and fashion-forward fellows, “fashion’s biggest night out” – better known as the Met Gala – is easily the most wonderful time of year.
A designer costume party that doubles as a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, the outing – which typically occurs the first Monday in May – is an annual assembly of Hollywood’s “who’s who” to show off some truly outrageous and over-the-top ensembles courtesy of top named and well-respected designers.
This year’s event was helmed by 2024 co-chairs Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth (TikTok CEO Shou Chew and creative director of Loewe Jonathan Anderson served as honorary chairs).
Hop inside to see how big names like Lil Nas X, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Doja Cat, Tyla, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Kerry Washington, and more delivered their take on the night’s theme: ‘The Garden of Time’ (inspired by a 1962 short story written by J.G. Ballard in celebration of the opening of the Costume Institute’s ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ spring exhibit).
Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been laying the lyrical smackdown on each other with back-to-back diss tracks.
One of the latest, K.Dot’s ‘Not Like Us,’ has captivated the masses – not only because of its hard-hitting production and even harder hitting jabs, but it’s surprise mention of WWE legend Shawn Michaels.
Indeed, Lamar referenced the Heartbreak Kid’s iconic finishing move ‘Sweet Chin Music’ when he rapped:
“Put the whole label on me, I’mma get ’em dropped. Sweet Chin Music and I won’t pass the aux.”
Now, HBK has responded. Find out what he had to say below…
