The Pussycat Dolls Perform At The 2008 MTV Movie Awards
The Pussycat Dolls performed their new single ‘When I Grow Up’ a few hours ago at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards. Check out the performance below:
Though the performance was overly on-point (IMO), the ladies will continue to have little credibility with me (as a unit) until they start switching on some of the other girls’ microphones. I mean, does Nicole even need a ’solo’ career, after all she’s living it out within the group anyway.

WORD !! cause truth be told… PCD aint fuckin with Danity Kane vocally.. them girls holdin’ it down. Each and every one of them hittin’ lead vocals like a champ. I have yet to see the PCD girls show up !!!

i think i would have enjoyed it a lot more if i hadn’t already seen the same rountine minus the stairs on jimmy kimmel the other night, maybe thay should have just waited to perform it on here, and melody didn’t seem to be feelin the performance too much. nut can you blame her

Lets be real, DK may be better singers but all the girls in PCD can perform their behinds off and they sure as hell get more promotion. Look at how much we’ve seen them and their album isn’t even finished yet. How many times have we seen DK on TV minus their show? Exactly! I saw those two performances of DK and I wasn’t impressed. The dance moves were mediocre at the least and they were lipsynching.

^It is like u said. If DK had more promotion backing them like PCD garantee u they would blow the competition away. PCD got the dancing on lock that’s no secret. But who is mostly singing all the time? Nicole. It is very easy to give a good performance when u only have to shout but one line “WHEN I GROW UP!”

I agree with what people are saying on this blog, but seriously. That song that PCD sang SUCKED. The lyrics sucked, the singing sucked. For me, voice is 90% of the performance. That’s why they are prviledged enough to be stars to make the money that they do. They better ALL know how to sing, and with better lyrics. Sure they can dance like sexy chics, but that’s not entertaining for me. They are okay entertainers, but talented? I don’t think so. Danity Kane BY FAR is much more of a talent than PCD. They also dress a lot better than them. It’s just sad that Bad Boy won’t do more to get them out there. Diddy was at the MTV movie awards, I hope he sees that DK is much better than PCD.

PCD is nothing more than a singer (nicole) and her backup dancers. the other girls never utter a word. they might let the lighskinned girl sing but only at the end of a song, if that.
Nicole couldn’t cut it as a solo artist so she willingly rejoined PCD so she could get her shine on like she usually does. i guess her head got so big from all the attention in PCD that she thought she could pull off a solo career. try again ma ma. did her cd even drop??
granted PCD can dance. danity kane can sing ass well as dance. no one likes groups where only one person sings, it gets annoying. if they didnt have perfect body’s, didnt dance well, and have major promotion they wouldn’t be a big deal.

Ok, i think i said this when the song was posted on this site. I think Nicole is singing lead for the whole song as a comeback because that’s what the fans are used to but i think the vocals will be shared on the album because most of the girls have done something outside the group. I definitely think that Melody will do some lead. Now, although i like Danity Kane i don’t think they’re all that vocally, I THINK Nicole has a much better voice than all the girls in Danity Kane and don’t really think any have solo abilities.

I would have to disagree with what was said about Nicole from PCD having a much better voice than all of the girls from Danity Kane. If you were making a comparison of let’s say Cristina Aguilera having a better voice than all of DK, then I would see the point. But this is Nicole from PCD, sorry but no, she’s not all that vocally. I think DK’s voices are good, not excellent, but with more voice lessons/guidance/work, they could be pretty up there. I’m also glad that they wouldn’t have solo abilities to go off on their own because they sound good as a group. En Vogue by far was one of the best GROUPS and the only one that I knew of that went off and did her own thing was Dawn. But as a group, they were the best.

I was more interested in the lighting and the visual effects. wow. they gon’ need to come harder than that if they tryin’ to stay up wit Danity Kane. someone explain to me how you can be OVERLY on point…no such thing…lets just get this straight…PCD is not meant to be a “let’s sing acapella and have our harmonies on point” type of group…i know most of you remember PCD started out as a burlesque dance troupe and spun-off into what you see in this performance…the group is a dance troupe at heart. they added singers and downsized the number of girls to have the idea of this group go mainstream. even though pcd and danity kane have the similarity of being a group of 5 girls, there should be no comparison in my opinion. they are both great in their own right and TOTALLY DIFFERENT.
PCD is all about the overall performance and for the most part choreography, which is why over 50% of the group are trained dancers where is danity kane has 1 trained dancer eventhough they all stand out it in that department. and as for look, PCD keeps their roots of that burlesque attitude with them. danity kane doesn’t really go for an overall theme in looks…
my point being, these groups are 2 totally different entities. there’s no comparison needed. i enjoy both at different points for their different stand out attributes.

I also respectfully disagree about Nicole having better vocals than all of DK. Aubrey has sick vocals, that girl can sang. By far the best singer out of all members of DK. Put Nicole and Aubrey in a singing challenge…Aubrey will win.

SHOCK HORROR!!!… May i make the bold statement that i actually LIKE BOTH dk & pcd. The choreography, nicole’s singing, the song, the vibe was pretty much perfect for me: i was entertained by that performance. we’ll have to wait and see if they bring it with the 2nd album tho, as ‘welcome to the dollhouse’ was perfection. am from the uk & i aint seen 1 single video or performance by dk, ever. apart from the MTB show.

PCD are performers, they dance and can sing and there’s tracks to prove that ALL girls can sing (except for kim anyway cuz we aint heard jack).
DK can’t perform AT ALL.
Did you see them performing Damaged with a lame girls aloud like routine? They were completely knacked, and their live vocals are not that impressive anyway.
