That Grape Juice has exclusively received word that Michelle Williams has parted ways with Mathew Knowles and Music World Entertainment! Check out Michelle’s official statement below:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 12, 2010STATEMENT REGARDING GRAMMY-AWARD WINNING SINGER MICHELLE WILLIAMS DISSOLVING HER MANAGEMENT ARRANGEMENT WITH MATHEW KNOWLES AND MUSIC WORLD ENTERTAINMENT
“After much prayer and consideration I have decided to part ways from my management team, Mathew Knowles and Music World Entertainment. From my time in Destiny’s Child to my solo career, I am grateful for everything Mathew and his team has done for me. We’ve shared great success together. However, as I move in a new direction in my career, I felt it was time. I wish Mathew Knowles and the Music World Entertainment family all the best.”ABOUT MICHELLE WILLIAMS
This winter, Grammy Award-winning recording artist and actress Michelle Williams returns to Broadway as Roxie Hart in the Tony Award-winning hit musical CHICAGO for a seven-week limited engagement, Monday, February 8, 2010 through Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.).
Michelle Williams first took on Roxie Hart last year to critical acclaim in London’s Cambridge Theatre, marking the first time an African American woman has played the role of Roxie Hart on London’s West End. Her limited engagement proved so successful that it was extended an additional three weeks by popular demand.
She made her Broadway stage debut in 2003, replacing R&B icon Toni Braxton in the title role of Disney’s Aida. In April 2007, she joined the national touring company of the hit musical The Color Purple, performing extended runs in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Phoenix with members of the original Broadway cast.Michelle Williams also maintains her stake as a minority owner of the WNBA team, Chicago Sky.

WOW! BOUT’ TIME! LOL..
BUT SERIOUSLY, If you guys watch “The Skorpion Show”, they talk alot about Michelle Williams and how successful she would be even the more, if she left MattK.
Michelle williams if a subscriber & good friend of the hosts of the Skorpion Show….
…If what they said on the show wasn’t true, or atleast close to being true, do you think Michelle would have even have responded to the things they said? But she did, she actually called his show, tweets’ the hosts on a regular, and have become good friends with them.
Just seems to me like all the things she wanted to say about her experience with MattK, Destiny’s Child & Music World, she couldn’t say, and the skorpion show said it for her!!

Bout time!!!
Thank God she made the right move. Ever since Kelly left I was waiting on her to follow suit. She had an amazing album that got little to no attention. I would say Solange follow suit girl, even though it is your dad, cause your album deserved higher than a no. 9! Haha!! that’ll never happen!

O Joe yea some people will still blame cause some would have lost interest completely and not be interested in their new projects and the whole time with Matthew could’ve ruined them with potential fans and such.
Look I say whatever happens Matthew has played a big role in their career and it hasn’t always been a good one but now since they have both parted ways people also need to part ways with Matthew and just give them another try and see what’s cracking. I mean Kelly’s done real well with When Love Takes Over afterall she did write those lyrics!!

What I don’t get why People Think that Beyonce’s Dad is the reason Kelly and Michelle don’t have career’s like Beyonce. People are the ones that buy Music. Kelly and Michelle will never be a Big has Beyonce you people need to understand it and move on Kelly DOesn’t have it also Michelle doesn’t have. Watch Videos of Kell and Michelle solo yess they could sing But they don’t own the stage like Beyonce does. No way in for Hell will they ever be as Big as Beyonce. But I wish then both the best! But if you people think for one sec that Kelly or Michelle are going to be bigger than Beyonce you are just being foolish .

This aint about whether kelly or michelle can be bigger than beyonce – the simple answer is NO! They can’t! Beyonce has been groomed for solo stardom as soon as DC broke out… Destinys Child was merely a platform for Beyonces career as a singer and actress.. The fact is beyonce was a priority artist and kelly and michelle were aware of this and knew that they would receive less exposure for their solo work until ‘beyonce the star’ was certified… After flop projects and the success of single ladies kelly finally realised that Beyonce is as big right now as she’ll ever be so she decided to make her career a priority for herself instead of waiting on music world to decide when they were read… Michelle simply followed suit.

Oh happy day…When Jesus walked…He took Michelle away (from Matthew).
FINALLY it happened!! I always thought she’d do it before Kelly, but at least it’s happened. She has to start her career from the bottom, almost like a newbie, but this is just the beginning. Her last album, Unexpected, was 9.5/10 for me, and it sucks that millions won’t ever hear it.

even stevie wonder could of seen this one coming
@barbie im a fan of beyonce and as much as I love her it’s obvious her dad is what caused the dc break uos and the reason why michelle and kelly moved on. I don’t think they care so much about sales but it was obvious that they weren’t gettin as much support and promo as beyonce was and I don’t blame beyonce but if you’re mom was the stylist of the group and you’re dad was the manager then obviously, you would get more attention then anyone else in the group, which is what caused the breakups. My problem is when people blame Beyonce for the breakups b/c it wasn’t her fault. Even la toya and latavia said it when they left. they said it was the management i.e. matthew knowles.

It’s funny how Bey stans came on here flooding this shit. Nobody’s going to blame a damn thing, regardless if their albums flop or nothing. They’ll do better WITHOUT his management. & they’ll be where they should be. Beyonce is not all that. Her vocals ARE on point, but that was with on stop vocal training since she was little. I’m not sure if Kelly & Michelle received that same treatment. Kelly is a better dancer, and natural performer (watch any of DC performances like “Lose My Breath”) she slays Beyonce so flawless with her moves & flawless grace. All Kelly has to do is work on consistent great vocals & she’s set. Michelle has her own distinctive voice & she has range, and just has to get it together more, and dance a little better. With the right team, they’ll be a max potential. That’s all people want for them; super-successful or not.

Yes Michelle Williams has finally left the Mathew Knowles camp. We are so happy for her. I pray that this time her star finally begins to shine after it his been eclipsed for so long. Even if she doesn’t take the music world by storm, there is always acting. The keys to her future success is finding the right team that will support her %100

I’m MORE than happy for Michelle! I was listening to her CD with a co-worker today and was just saying that if she were to make a similar move as Kelly did to seek out new management, she would get the support she needs to have a better career overall. So to see this story just before bed is more than ironic but I’m more than happy for her!
I really can’t wait to hear what comes next from her! Great move…..great move!

About damn time. Michelle God gave you talent and you will succeed as long as you trust in him. I hope you have major success with your next project. I suggest you do an album of belting ballads so Beyonce and Kelly can’t compete. You made the right decision and did it in a classy way so the best of luck to you and ignore the Beyonce stans who always have negative things to say about you and Kelly.

Well done Michelle.
Big deal if they are not going to be is big as Beyonce. Kelly despite flopping under Matthew’s management and firing him has had a huge hit in WLTO and there will be more on the way. Kelly wont be as big as Beyonce but with the correct management she may/will have been doing better and bigger than she is already.. the potential is there.
It is a fact that Matthew sabotaged Kelly’s deal and made Solange have it instead.
Michelle will also be fine. She was on a successful critically acclaimed show ‘Chicago’ in london and has rejoined. She also was on a successful and critically acclaimed broadway show ‘the color purple’.
Compared to a lot of the ‘artists’ in the game both Kelly and Michelle have it. They have talent and thats an advantage over the load of bullshit thats in the charts these days.

Also I think some of yall need to get a grip and grow up. Its almost petty as if you’ll are creaming yourselves for them to fail. They have taken control so that doesn’t equal flop or failure. If they flop they flop.. but at least they can say they ‘failed’ off their own back instead of being controlled and ‘flopping’.
No one is blaming Beyonce. Believe it or not, the world doesn’t revolve around her. All 3 of the ladies have their own lives/careers to think about and what is right for them.

i SO disagree with half the comments on here…kelly and michelle DO have it we just never got to see it because when they were in Beyonce and the Child’s….oh excuse me, i’m sorry….Destiny’s CHILD!, they were forced to the background and had to let Beyonce have all the shine…she going to do solo interviews with celebs on the red carpet at the Golden Globes and MTV Movie awards while they watching at home from the couch and also solo movies on the side (the big flop Carmen), Matthew was preparing us for Beyonce because he and she knew that one day DC would “take a break” so she could go solo and see if people liked her and the music she was dishing, (which they did) and then finally take the music market by storm. I mean really do you REALLY think Beyonce wanted to go back to Destiny’s Child? She was just playing it safe because other groups prove, sometimes going solo ain’t the best so at least she knew that if she went solo and said DC was “taking a break” she could go back and it wouldn’t look as much as a failure. After she saw the success of Dangerously in Love you know damn well in her head she was thinking damn when will this DC mess be over already so i can jump ship and work on me? So don’t blame Kelly and Michelle for being boring or uninteresting because if Matthew would have at least given them the same amount of exposure like he did Beyonce when they was in the group then maybe people would actually wanna get to know Kelly and Michelle like they already knew Beyonce when she came out. And i admit when Kelly and Michelle was in DC with Bey i was thinking why the HELL are they even onstage?! ALL my attention was on Beyonce. Kelly and Michelle is like Mary Wilson of the Supremes trying to go solo, you’d think why? We really dont know you or what your about just the fact that you sing in the Supremes…just would be uninteresting to some.

ok @Ladylust this goes back to my question…..When kelly releases her album this year and it doesn’t perform well, will people continue to blame Beyonce and Mathew or will people blame her fans for not buying it? Kelly is a World Wide act but nobody likes to give Mathew or Beyonce credit for that….Why? So i guess that makes two questions lol

Why should Beyonce or Matthew get credit for Kelly being a WW act anymore than she should for B being a star? Fair enough she was a part of DC but she wasn’t a passenger she actually contributed to to the success of the group as did Michelle.. she has worked hard. She may not be as energetic a performer as Beyonce but she in no means a bad one.
Furthermore, management is more than pushing units, but getting out there and doing work. There is no reason why a competent actress like Kelly can’t be in another film etc etc.

@Chelsie I agree with you…Kelly was the bomb in Freddy Vs. Jason lol… And the reason why i say nobody gives mathew the credit for kelly an WW is because when she released Ms. Kelly under his management her album sold over 1.5 million copies WW…but yet mathew doesnt even get a thank you for that….

I am eternally optimistic for Michelle’s next project. ‘Unexpected’, if it had been marketed correctly should have had a LOT more exposure. There is no denying the marketing of the album was handled poorly. (Weak video for WBTD, ‘The Greatest’ being released when if was one of the weaker songs on the album IMO.) But hopefully she’ll have more of a say this time around!
And can people learn to seperate their stories? Their is no mention of Kelly or Beyonce, can Michelle have her own shine in her feature?
