I really liked the video. It wasn’t worth all that damn pushing, though. I actually loved it mostly cuz it kept me interested in what was gonna happen next! But the best part was the dance section with both BEY and GAGA at the end! They should have done more of that throughout the video but it was good! So kudos to GAGA and BEY!

First, I have to say that the Bad Romance video is so much better than this. I do not know what GaGa was talking about. I watched it twice and the first time I was underwhelmed by it because I was expecting more after all that hype. The second time I watched it, I enjoyed it. It is a good video and is certainly a whole lot better than most of the videos artists are churning out these days. I loved the humor and the choreography was great.
However, it was not epic as it was made out to be. Beyonce just did not fit into this concept for me. Her acting was terrible as usual and her role was not convincing. The plot was good but posioning the boyfriend is starting to become repetitive. I also don’t see the connection between the song and video. It would have made more sense if they had gone out to a club after she got out of prison (of course it would have been an outlandish, unusual, out of the ordinary type place you wouldn’t call a club) and murder someone there in a different manner.
I’m sure I’ll enjoy it more once I am able to throw my expectations out the window but hopefully this story does not continue with the next video as it says.

The video was cool and all, but I don’t think it lived up to the hype…”Bad Romance” and even “Paparazzi” was 100% better. I think they kind of shot themselves in the foot with the hype for this video. The song is still stalled at #11 on the Hot 100 and hasn’t really made big waves worldwide at all. As much as I hate Rihanna, I think her video for “Rude Boy” was 100% better and far more interesting. LG and Bey are terrible acots in this video and it seems really contrived and too much. Way too much hype! I’ll give this video a solid B. Nothing groundbreaking but it’s OK. BTW, Gaga looked exactly like Madonna (1990 Justify Me Love) in this video with her penciled eyebrows.

The outfits, choreography, over all vision was sub-par for Jonas Akerlund (who had his best work with Madonna). I was expecting 3D, halograms, crazy sepcial effects, avatar-like CGI…This is the 21st centtury for god’s sake! The video was boring. Not worth the wait. now I see why it got pushed back. “Bad Romance” and “Poker Face” are Gaga’s best videos, and she took a step down with this one. It’s not best video of the decade, not even close. I think that title has been taken by Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” and “Disturbia”.

I found the video interesting, but I just didn’t get it half way. Towards the middle, things start to get too wacky and just don’t make sense, but maybe that was what they were going for. It was an entertaining video, but not worth waiting 2 1/2 extra weeks.

Sammy boy….did you seriously compare this video to Thriller??? And did you really say that “This is hands-down one of the best music videos of the last 10 years – if not ‘the’ best” I am just gonna chalk this up to you really being impressed by the video, and not that you actually believe this!
Credit given where credit is due – Lady Gaga and Beyonce understand the value of a good video, and I have rarely (if ever) been dissapointed by either artists’ videos. The video was super entertaining, but clearly based off of the “Kill Bill” serious (which was obvious from the dialogue to the P_ssy Wagon). I would say that this was definitely one of the best videos of the year (but it is only March, who are we kidding?), but I would not say that this rivals Thriller (not even on its best day), and I would say that it was the best of the last 10 years.
All in all, the video was hot, and Lady Gaga and Beyonce definitely brought the heat. Thriller (lmao), come on Sam let’s be serious!

The concept was decent and the cinematography was really good, but I think all together it was a bit overwhelming. A lot of it could’ve been edited out. Also is it me, or there is a dead-on Tarentino influence. Not just the fact of the ‘Pussy Wagon’ (from Kill Bill), but even in the dialogue and style you could see it.
Overall I thought it was good, but I think Pokerface, Paparazzi and Bad Romance were better.

The thing with THIS video is that it wasn’t meant to be a piece where there was incredible dancing and coordinated moves through out it like the lyrics and the beat of the song suggests. Since the video is so long, it took a while to cut it down to where everything coordinated to where it got broken down from a mini episode into a legitimate music video. Then it was cut even further from its theatrical version to fit the limits of a countdown’s music video standard of around 4 minutes. That’s why it was being pushed back for so long. Don’t get it twisted.
Even gaga herself said that she felt ‘sorry for the Bad Romance’ video because this one surpassed it in terms of how much she was able to do. People only say that the Bad Romance and Pokerface videos are better because there’s less talking, more movement and more cuts in between the scenes. The focus of this video was meant to be more of art than filling up a music video standard of just ‘dancing around’ to a song’s lyrics.
Its understandable that some people aren’t going to get it or like it because its far what they expected it to be. They also pushed it back because I also have a theory that they were waiting until her single Telephone climbed up the charts a bit further because it was stuck on the Billboard-100 chart at “16″ for longer than 3 weeks and started ascending the more they released promo photos from the music video. So it got to the point where they released so many to the point where once it peaked at “11″, they figured that releasing the video as it rimmed the top 10 mark might push it half way through that count.
It doesn’t really matter how many haters Gaga gets because of this video because at the end of the day like every ‘stan’ for an artist knows…Haters are really lovers with a bit of spice on them. They still watch her videos, comment where she debuts and cling onto her to get their 2 cents in when it just helps promote how amazingly popular she really is. That goes for everyone.

Ok. I”m a Lady Gaga and Beyonce fan, but I don’t think this was epic at all. I’ve seen it once don’t really need to see it again. The beginning part was cool in the jail but the whole thing tjust didn’t go to me. I can understand the comparison to Michael Jackson because of how long it was and the “storyline” in between the song. but nothing went together to me. It was like 5 different videos in one. Maybe it’s just me, but i didn’t get the story, didn’t really get how the video related to the song. Could have been better. Maybe i need to watch it again.

I think they cut the song up too much to accomodate the story in the video but once they edit the video to fit the 4 min. format of the song it will feel like it flows better ( I think and if she lets them). But if they point was to show that Gaga is THAT BITCH… mission accomplished! She looked so good in the video, her body was on point and I loved her dancing. She definitely was the star of the video. The look of the video was very arresting, I just wish they hadn’t chopped the song up so much. Just look what this chick has done in less than 2 years, from Just Dance to world premiering her 9 minute video. It’s fascinating.. and the product placement, who else has companies doing this in their videos… that’s how much faith they have in GaGa the brand.

I have to admit that when I firstsaw the video, I took a long while to contemplate whether it was better than Bad Romance, not whether it was good. This was such because at first watch, it boasted great cinematography, editing, choreography etc. This fact was similar for the Bad Romance video too. But what differs the Telephone music video from its predecessor is that it’s a 9-minute long mini-movie, with extended parts including dialogue throughout the video. I doubted the video when I first watched possibly because I tought there was too much going on and that some aspects are not clearly relevant to the song itself. However, I believe my first impression of the video was affected and therefore shaped by the brief (and sometimes superficial) remarks I read prior to watching the video.
I watched it again and I realized that the video, just like the song, is a magnificent piece of work. For those who don’t watch it closely and don’t think through why certain aspects were included in the video would probably be turned off by what is seemed ‘random’, ‘extreme’ or ‘pointless’. To me, it is considered a piece of art, which is never something that is direct or in-your-face kind of obvious. Lady GaGa and her team would not take centuries to edit it if they had not wanted it to be of great quality or mean something. What does it mean? It’s up to your judegement. Now with that being said, I’m sure there are those who think that I, along with other detailed reviewers of the video, do not have a life and that I’m reading too much into a mere video by an overrated (I do not think she’s overrated, by the way) artist. But that’s not the case. I acknowledge effort and quality, and where that’s seen, I think that it’s not wrong to voice our opinions, even if it takes the form of lenghty, wordy reviews.
So in case you didn’t get it already, I like the video. I think it is indeed one of the best videos of our time. Michael Jackson’s Thriller is undoubtedly on a level of its own and Lady GaGa’s Telephone is no exception. I have no qualms with those who say that it may rival Thriller, this is in NO WAY saying it is better than Thriller, it just means that both videos are realy, really good. But this review isn’t about Thriller, I digress… Telephone is funny, somewhat witty and creative nonetheless. Some question the acting though, especially that of Beyonce’s. I am a huge fan of hers and so this may seem a little biased. I thought at first that her potrayal of Honey B was really awful and not up to expectations, but when I watched it again, I realized that she did make me giggle a bit. As subpar as some might think it was, it did not adversely affect the whole video but instead adds on to the general strangeness of the video. That aside, GaGa was consistent with her role as a silent maniac and was fully devoted to the character she played. Speaking of which, another major (I guess) issue that’s surrounded the video is the level of sex, nudity and accompanying innuendo in the video. I think this aspect is just about every individual’s comfort with such things. You may find the yellow tape that was “potruding out of her vagina” or the censored (I stress CENSORED) crotch as bad as pornography and not artistic at all, but that is how you view it and there’s nothing wrong with that. I, on the other hand, think that those scenes as well as the one where her face was sucked the hell out of by another woman inmate are necessary in getting across the message of who she is. She is open and she is bisexual and these facts are as much a part of her as the Telephone video is.
I really do not mind if there was a continuation, but neither am I closed to the option of just an entirely new concept. As both a Beyonce and Lady GaGa fan, I enjoy the video thoroughly, though I am still peeved by the long wait and late release. To me, the hype was worth it and it truly is a pop event that has stirred much discussion amongst people far and wide across the world. Only GaGa is capable of such a feat and I agree that she is really on top of everybody else’s game in the industry right now. Take from that what you may, if you disagree, I respect that and if you agree, join the club, I say!

Grace Jones + M.I.A.= Rude Boy. It hardly qualifies as a great video, due to it’s lack of originality.

You hit the nail on the head!!!! I don’t understand why people constantly say Rihanna slayed and her videos are Epic, yet this video is horrible, boring, and a waste of time. Really? Now I don’t think it lived up to its hype, but this video is the most creative and visually stunning videos in a long time! No other artist is currently doing videos like this! Period! I don’t think anyone could name 5 to 10 videos that are better than this one in the last few years, that includes visuals, acting, cinematic interest, great dancing and choreography, etc, etc.
Now, before someone jumps down my throat, I did say that I don’t think it lived up to all that hype! But this was a great video!

That was INSANITY! I was just rocketed from earth for those few minutes! ASTONISHING EPIC MUSIC VIDEO! LADY GAGA & BEYONCE ARE THE BEST! While watching that video it reminded me of a few artist, the 1st being Madonna/Michael Jackson. I thought that Britney Spears at one point was going to take the crown from Madonna & Janet as pop queen, but now obviously Beyonce and Lady Gaga are head of Britney. It’s so amazing that this is only Lady Gaga’s FIRST album! Just pure hotness! I loved every bit of it! By itself it would have been amazing and awesome, but with the additon of megastar Beyonce, this video is truly epic and super incredible.

And the fact that I’m not a fan of Rihanna, I give her props where it’s due because I’ve said that I liked Rated R and it’s her best album. The concept isnt exactly hard to understand:
Well the gist of the video is she is in prison, I am assuming from where “Paparazzi” ends. Her lover (Beyonce) bails her out and they plot to kill her boyfriend (Tyrese). Gaga suggests they kill everyone (“Once you kill the cow you have to make a burger”) but asks Beyonce if she is sure. She says yes (“Broken mirror….blah,blah,blah”), so they poison everybody and runs off to be together and “never come back”. & the concept of the Song is being to busy to give a certain someone any satisfaction.
See Gaga killed her boyfriend in “Paparazzi” and Gaga helps her “HoneyBee” kill hers so they can be together forever.
*Personally I thought the video was Great, Nice Concept, Cool Visuals, The Fashion, Conceptually it may be Gaga’s Best video r& its also the best song on Monster, It would be nothing without Bey.*
