Nelly is back. With his last effort, ‘Brass Knuckles’, packing a weak punch (with sales to match), the St. Louis native will no doubt be hoping new single ‘Tippin In The Club’ has a more favourable fate. The song, which is the lead release from the rapper’s ‘Nelly 5.0’ LP, surfaced a few moments ago.

Though Nelly faces an uphill struggle trying to re-establish himself in the industry, ”Club’ is a commendable effort. Familiar territory for him in that the song sounds crafted for a radio audience, the track also manages to re-align the 35 year old with his grittier delivery. Not bad…not bad at all….

I really don’t know what to think of the song honestly… it just doesn’t seem like Nelly! What happen to the Nelly from St. Louis? This just isn’t the Nelly ppl r familiar with. Not to say that this isn’t a good song but I don’t see it doing much for him. He had alot of good hits but this just isn’t it! & what happened to St. Lunatics & Murphey Lee? I used to luv them back in the early 2000’s.

Its a miss for me, That repeatative chorus is a NO no. A lot of his other stuff (Grills, Hot in here, Jeans) was great but this here is just generic rubbish, not to say it wont fit in with the trash thats out now.
Even his song with C-Error is way better than this & I dont even remember it.

The joint aint bad, but what crushed Nelly and the Derrty movement was the Tip Drill video and and Universal riding hard for Lil’ Wayne. The video made him one of the most hated rappers, and Universal backed off and stopped pushing as hard as they were, and started pushing Wayne. The Tip Drill vid came out in ’04, the same year as Tha Carter.
Its cool, nice beat. But I want him to release Gone with Kelly!
