Alexandra Burke Hits #1

Published: Sunday 12th Sep 2010 by Sam

Pop diva Alexandra Burke has rocketed to the top of the UK charts with new single ‘Start Without You’. The RedOne produced cut serves as the X-Factor winner’s third #1 on the Official UK Singles Chart.

If this isn’t a testament to the 22 year old’s immense talent, I don’t know what is. For, with the song being one of the most notable ‘hate it or love it’ tracks we’ve heard in a while, the one universal thumbs-up has always been Burke’s show-stopping performances – which have that special quality of selling whatever she’s performing.

Congratulations Alexandra!

    @J

First of all I aint a negro – I’m your landowner!! Keep working the fields munchkin. Muahaha.

Even if the b**** tried to release anything in the US, it be lucky to break the bottom 50. Good luck with the imagination. Next.

  10. Maryanne September 12, 2010

Well done Alex, soo happy, first x factor winner to get to number 1 without performing on x factor 😀 woop 3rd number 1, you go girl!!

  11. HUSHBITCH September 12, 2010

The song is shitt!!! Just goes to show how easy you can get a number 1 in the UK
Soryy Alex but NO! You aint no Beyonce as much as people like to think you are
    And never will be.

  12. SparkD September 12, 2010

Good for Alex. Can’t wait until she returns to the U.S.

  13. Richard September 12, 2010

It’s very easy to write her off and pretend she’s a UK only act, but at the end of the day, the fact that she’s sold over 630,000 albums in the UK alone is damn impressive. Especially given a lot of people on this site who are international stars struggle to sell that in the US.

I love this girl, she’s got a great personality, voice and is one hell of a performer. ‘Overcome’ is a great album!

SANGING take your ignorant, poorly educated self elsewhere no one cares what you think.I think Toyaz World is missing an idiot you would be better suited to there.
3 No 1’s in Ireland and England well done Alex.

she have got some good music out ther , i really dig bridge and another one that brings the heat. people theres room for all of them shes just a young artist working like the rest of them trying to get another hit and whats wrong with that ? dam haters never let up.

  21. Kicktheeardrum September 12, 2010

Good for her. She has a lot of talent, but this song is trash. Hoepfully she can get some bomb tracks for her new album.

    YESSS
I wasn’t feeling the single when I first heard it. However, Miss Alexandra sold it to me during her performances. Now, I love it. Congratulation Alexandra.

  23. Dev September 12, 2010

Yeah the song is terrible, and yeah so is the styling most of the time but she proved her talent show after show on the xfactor, was not the favorite but still won.

Im hoping round 2 will be better.

  24. OddOne September 12, 2010

People in 2020 will look back at the year’s #1’s and cringe. It’s been an awful year for music, let alone #1’s.

  29. English Babe* September 13, 2010

i LOVEEEEEEE Alexandra Burke, i supported her and JLS on the x factor.

Her voice is amazing and she is an amazing performer …..but to be honest i have not heard anything i would go out there to buy.

Glad that she is number 1 though, i guess i just don’t like music these days, i could wish for her to sing something more soulful but i guess thats just not what sells these days.

Good luck to her though, for all the racism seen from that show, i hope she does really well and stays relevant.

  30. Brandi September 14, 2010
