New Song: Black Eyed Peas – ‘Do It Like This’

Published: Tuesday 16th Nov 2010 by Sam

The Black Eyed Peas have clearly found a winning formula and are sticking to it. As the release date for their 6th studio album ‘The Beginning’ draws nearer, new material from the LP continues to surface – the most recent being Electro-Thumper ‘Do It Like This’.

Take a listen after the jump…

It’s safe to say the Fergie-led foursome are unapologetically channelling the sound on their last musical outing ‘The E.N.D’. Understandable, given the multi-Platinum success of the album. Yet, increasingly worrying is the “samey-ness” of the Peas’ offerings as of late.

While some, perhaps sillily, long for the socially concious Peas of yesteryear (it’s just not going to happen), I simply sought more variety in their releases (see: ‘Where Is The Love’). For, lyrically and on the production front, ‘Like This’ offers little of substance, and joins an ever-mounting pile of generic Club tracks which the group seem to be championing these days.

By no means bad, yet not at all great.

This is why Will.i.am doesnt want MJ’s album released cuz his material kinda sucks! His new s*** sounds like a electronic mess for the 12yr old Helen Keller’s out there. Besides, the dude has been accused in several lawsuits of swagger jacking unauthorized samples for hs biggest hits. What a d*****. Then he features lame no talent lip syncer Cheryl Cole. The E.N.D.

I feel like this album is going to be full of rejected songs from The E.N.D. They should have quit while they were ahead, taken some time to come with fresh music because it seems like they rushed this thinking they would have the same success as The E.N.D.

^^^ So right. It is Rushed. Coming out thus month with Zero promotion, and no video shot yet. Kinda risky, but their blending their old roots with the future. For people who keep saying, I miss their old stuff “My Humps, Dont Phunk With My Heart, , etc”. The reason your saying that is because they are doing a hip hop sound as much anymore, and they want Particularly “People of color ” to open up their minds to accept Electro. every once in a while u get a song similar to their old stuff, Like “One Tribe” from The END.

I totally agree, with what ive heard so far of “The Beginning” seems to be full of rejected songs from The E.N.D… Which is not a good thing.

I was really dissapointed with ‘The Time’ and this new offering is even worse. I’m not a hater or anything but surely B.E.P should be putting out better material than this.

This is really nothing special. I’m no hater, but these guys annoy me! I wish Fergie would just step out on her own again.

Will-I-Am is so played out. Fergie should have been smart, and went SOLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Gilberto November 16, 2010

I completly agree with STEVE. “‘The Beginning’ seems to be full of rejected songs from ‘The E.N.D'” describes these new songs.

  27. Kevbo November 17, 2010

Their last CD was fresh but this is just annoying!

  28. Migrator November 17, 2010

Although it sounds like “fast food music” at its best, I like it better than E.N.D. material. It sounds like Elephunk/M***** Business gone electro.

  29. fernandobep November 17, 2010
