With the release of Michael Jackson‘s first posthumous LP ‘Michael’ a mere 24 hours away, the surfacing of these never-before-seen promotional shots of the King of Pop is coincidental to say the least.
Snapped by photographer Arno Bani between 1999 and 2000, the images were to be used for the packaging of Jackson’s 2001 opus ‘Invincible’. However, word has it the label were more favourable of another shoot, hence this one was canned.

I love MJ music and I always will, but those pictures are not doing him any justice.
Tapestry my azz, this is why they did not use them when he was alive, they where making money off of him, and they still making money off of him but they don’t care about his image any more, when he was alive it was all about image.

MJ himself never liked the photos and did not want them released. The man responsible for the photos told that MJ was not pleased. MJ mentioned that the photos were over made up, photoshopped and made him look too effiminate. He did not like these photos at all. Once again, in light of his passing, you have cretins making a name and, of course, money off of MJs name.
Trust and believe MJ did not approve of these photos and he let ithe photgrapher of know of his displeasure.

On my part there goes one of the most beautiful human beings to grace this earth, and the greatest entertainer, musician and artist at that, of all time. The first person everyones favourite superstar is likely to mention as there main inspiration for getting into music. The last pic with the multi-coloured buttons is amazing. So original and extraordinary. No-one would have really come up with that “Shinobi” look except him and it definitely would’ve suited the “Invincible” album cover. It would probably served as the most interesting album cover he had ever done after “Dangerous” and would’ve generated a lot of interest by the cover alone, unlike the mediocre, lack-lustre one chosen.
