Dance/Pop artists aren’t the only people planning to release new material in 2011. Monica revealed that she intends to drop a new album as well. The R&B singer’s 7th studio collection, ‘New Life’, will hit stores in the summer, featuring contributions from Bryan-Michael Cox and Oak among others.
‘New Life’ will be the 1st of 2 albums Monica plans to release in 2011 as she intends to put forward a Christmas album at the end of the year.

All Eyez On Me was her 3rd studio album. It was released in Japan as a full release. Just because we didn’t get it as a full release here in the US doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. All they did was remove all the leaked tracks and added some new ones for After The Storm. You fake fans disgust me!

I can’t really say I care. Monica is such a sweet person but musically I’m not checkin for her. Her songs are so boring and OLD for her. I was shocked to find out she was only in her late 20s still.
But she’s trying to strike will her popularity and relevance is at all all time high so I can’t really blame her. I just need some life from her: First Night, Boy Is Mine, So Gone, After the Storm…some t ype of LIFE! Not music my mom and grandma can play lol.
I hope Brandy comes out with some ish too, maybe they can duet and capitalize off of each other. Monica also needs to pick up a pen.
I feels so impersonal to know she just sings the songs people give her that she “likes” or her lablel “likes” there is really no connection of Monica’s songs and Monica.
Like she JUST got married and talking about wanted to sing about heartache, and breakups and relationship troubles, lol..I’m not here for it.

I’m excited for this album but I sincerely hope that Monica adds something new to the mix to fit the theme… I think people really want to hear some more upbeat stuff from her in addition to the slow jams, as well as some more stuff with pop undertones.
I fine with Monica focusing on ballads and midtempos. It was only a few years ago when she was trying to do crunk music with Dem Franchise Boyz and everybody hated it. Clearly she got the message and cut that teenybop crap out. I’m hoping for some MATURITY in 2011, I’m tired of everything on the radio sounding loud and erratic. Teeny bopper girls and queeny gay guys have controlled the musical taste for too long.
Monica is not playin…she is getting her music out there whether its number 1 or number 40. I am so mad at artists who are so afraid of not having a number 1 that they dont release any music at all!

Monica needs to just keep doing her thing because the moment she tries to do take a risk she’ll alienate her ADULT R&B fans who’ve come to expect a very urban/R&B album from her. I not sure about another album jus yet Monica, im still addicted to Still Standing. Still Standing is such a MasterPiece. Best Rnb album of 2010 for sure. Yeah Monica’s album sold around or a little over 600k. She did really good for just releasing two singles, she had a robust week selling nearly 200k her first week out. That was amazing. She could have probably came close to her went platinum with the release of two more singles. She had more hits on the her classic album. She had so much momentum that her label should have kept it going.
She and Whitney would be a great duet !!!
She should work with producers from her last album, and a few new ones, throw some midtempos in there, along with some that have pop-undertones, with her signature slow jams. She should just mix it all up. She said that she was working on a midtempo.

I think this is a good look for Monica. She is one of those artists who is known for taking very long breaks between albums (3-4 years), so I think her fans will be pleased to hear that she will release a new one this year. I will definitely get it. I think that would be awesome if she wins the Grammy for “Best R&B Album.” What an honor that would be for her!!!!
I’m checking for Monica.. She’s great! NEW LIFE will be hot… Monica is a SINGER and based on her tweets, she’s also working with MISSY to help her with her writing… This album will be very personal… Mid-tempos, and Ballads… This is a great look for her coming off of a very successful album, grammy nominations… and a marriage… what more can one ask?
