Katy Perry hit the stage on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ yesterday. Alongside the Staten Island’s PS 22 Chorus at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre, the Pop star performed a rendition of her global hit ‘Firework’ for Oprah’s Ultimate After-Oscar Party.

She must truly have one of the worst voices in pop ever.No black singer could ever and I mean ever have a career and sing so poorly.Rihanna has even upped her vocals lately but Katy Perrys singing is getting worse.

I LOVE this Woman! I Love her Music, her Songwriting, her Look and even her VOICE!!!
However: I feel this song may be too BIG for her Voice and that is why she is usually Hit or Miss with the Live Vocals.
But in her defense half of the other Pop/R&B Singers that are popular today also would never even be able to attempt this song i.e. Kesha, Rihanna, Ciara, Jennifer Lopez, Brittany Spears, Keri Hilson, Selena Gomez, Willow Smith etc…

@bebetternotbitter i think keri hilson and willow smith can handle it. But with willow the pitch would be higher. And keri can sing more then what people credit for she aint no jennifer hudson but she got a little pipes.
I dont think katy perry’s voice is that bad its not great but its average at hardly best.

Well thankfully the kids drowned her out during the bad parts. Buy I must say, that although some criticisms regarding her vocals ate very valid, sometimes people just like to hate on her for no reason (I am NOT saying this particular instance counts, though). Like for instance, she gave a shockingly wonderful performance at the Grammys, yet people still found a way to criticize her singing in that performance. She’s far from being a great vocalist, to put it mildly, but she’s not the worst we’ve ever heard, either. I mean she still technically possesses more vocal ability and overall talent than some artists that a LOT of people on this blog (Sam & Trent included) unabashedly stan for. So I find it highly ironic that this girl gets more heat for lacking talent than anyone else when she’s no worse than artists that are coddled and ass-kissed by comparison.

Well I don’t think she sounded THAT bad mainly becuz the kids drowned her out at certain points. She’s smart, she knows she can’t handle the song live so she brings In 50 backup singers who happen to be kids which makes it super cute and makes ppl look more at the kids and say “awwww”. Imagine if she had a bunch of toddlers singing, no one would pay her ANY ATTENTION. with that said, im tired of stars recording songs they KNOW they can’t sing live and most likely struggled singing in the studio. Let’s be real, we love Rihannaa “California King Bed” and “Complicated” but do we really think she can sing it live and it sound phenomenal? No shade but these stars should be thanking their studio ppl when they accept awards. AND STOP LIPSYNCING and WAVING through HBO specials….THANK U GAGA FOR THAT COMMENT!! Lol

I think that is the epitome of stupidity for @African( Senegal ) to assume that (1) someone must be a hater to believed that vocal performance was terrible and (2) that you must be gay to feel that way as well…. Some people just refuse to think before talking…SMH
I thought she wasn’t that bad. Not her best, but I know she’s had some good performances in the past. I enjoy watching her performances because she seems like she’s at least trying and is always herself and makes things fun or personal. She’s an entertainer and puts on a good show. And she’s far from the worst vocalist/singer we have nowadays. 🙂
