With the release of two new mix tapes by R&B Prince Trey Songz scheduled for tomorrow , today saw the surfacing of a song from ‘The Anticipation 2.1‘ release named ‘Boop‘.
It follows the surfacing of his remixes to Lil Wayne‘s ‘Nightmare’s Of The Bottom‘ and The Throne‘s ‘Nixxa’s In Paris’.

On the production front, this does tick all the necessary boxes to make it a certified Contemporary R&B smash.
However, we await the day when Songz decides to touch on subject matter that doesn’t involve ‘backing it up’ and the like.
While we’re all for artists taking what works for them and running with it, there is a fine line between giving your fans what you know they really want to hear and recording songs that are identical in sound and content because you aren’t brave enough to take a risk.
Either way, ‘Boop‘ does make for enjoyable listening, even if it is predictable.

what a disappointment he’s become. He debut album was a classic in my opinion and Ready was the peak. He needs to clean up the lyrics and do what god gave him that voice to do. Ugh… disgusted!

When he said “lick lick lick lick” I just stopped listening.Is he fucking serious??When he started doing those bedroom anthems, his material was sexy, slick and classy.Yes, he was talking about sex back then too, but he keeps getting more and more graphic to the extent where it’s not enjoyable anymore, let alone sexy.It just seems desperate.He has to be clever with his lyrics, he doesn’t need to describe sex in detail…I hope that there won’t be a song where he will yodell about his favorite sex position…
