With the Christmas season swiftly approaching, fans expect to see more and more of their favorite singers putting their spin on Christmas classics and trying to create new ones. The latest to join the ever-growing bunch is R&B crooner Lloyd. The former The Inc. singer slides his signature croon over a very-Michael Jackson-esque (circa ‘Off The Wall’) groove while naming his ‘one request’ for Christmas.
While his latest album ‘King of Hearts’ may have not won over many record buyers heart, ‘Shes All I Want For Christmas’ could change that. Does Lloyd win with this winter track? You decide:
There are definitely parts of this song that are a little too Michael – such is indeed a double-edged sword. For where the resemblances are impressive, they at time seem forced. And, for a singer of Lloyd’s caliber, he does himself an injustice in trying to sound like anyone other than himself. Overall, the track is fair, it just seems a bit “busy” – in tempo and instrument. Lloyd’s tone and style, which often seems to resort to screaming or whining, is not always easily complimented by similarly whiny instrumentation.

This is what happens when u try to imitate MJ and you fail
See Chris Brown & Ne-Yo, cuz Lloyd just demolished his career with this horrible song.
