Now that the world has finally danced its way into 2012, fans of this generation’s ‘Voice’ ,Christina Aguilera, have very little time to go until they can get a hold of her new album.
Of course, following the infamous release of 2010′s ‘Bionic’, there are many fans who are hoping this LP serves to ‘settle old scores’ with a number of the entertainer’s closest chart rivals and ever present detractors.
Now, we’re giving you the chance to let Ms. Aguilera know just what you’re thinking.
Confused?
Details below…
Listing 12 songs from any genre or period of music from any artist out there, we want you to create the ultimate Christina album, made up of cuts you feel would further cement her status as Pop’s reigning innovator.
Perhaps you feel Britney Spears’ ‘Unusual You‘ is just the vibe she needs to secure her a #1 single or is Belinda Carlisle ’Circle In The Sand’ the sound she should be going for if it’s critical acclaim she desires.
It’s completely up to you.
If you’re feeling extra bossy why not tell us how you would structure the project’s promotional campaign to ensure it generates sales figures worthy of competing with the likes of ‘Stripped′ and ‘Back To Basics’.
Who knows? Someone from RCA may see your ideas and pass them onto her.
Get creative below!

I feel like she should take more of a modern/contemporary feel with a little bit of hip-hop, uptempo cuts. just like stripped. she was perceived as an artist over anything during that genre. she should do some songs like walk away and loving me for me. and keep that hip-hop/soul feel like on our way or back in the day. just no euro pop. maybe something like moves like jagger could work.

Looks random but I can imagine her singing them all in her own style, ” Bionic” allows you to picture her on an uptempo/midtempo song without oversinging (see monday morning). Tried to do a continuation of her style, its basically R’n'B fused with electro however pop is evidently the main theme. A couple of massive hits that would smash download sales and also some raw genuine tracks to show her vulnerability. Those that purchase the album will get a nice mixture of vulnerability and high confidence… which I think sums her up as an artist. Starts with a killer track and ends with a song that reminds her listeners that she, much like everyone else, is flawed.

Christina sounds best on more R&B midtempo jams.
I would love for her to team up with R.Kelly and reunite with Alicia Keys…there’s magic to be made there. But considering her album is almost finished, maybe we’ll get that kind of sound for it.
Christina doesn’t need to do any Euro trash music. Leave the fast food hits up to Rihanna, Gaga, Katy, and Britney.

2- Work on those voice lessons till the nasty straining/barking is gone
3- While working on those voice lessons also get some ear training classes
to improve that intonation, pitch problems have been plaguing her performances for a while now.
4- Get rid of the oversinging, just sing normal like a human being!

Before I talk about her new album, I wanna talk about the reasons that made Bionic flop on charts:
* In a way, the movie Burlesque messed up the album plans and the album promotion.
* Producers and songwriters like Tricky Stewart, Pollow da Don, Sia & Samuel Dixon, aren’t producers that really fit on the concept of “furutistic”.
* Christina left may good tracks as deluxe tracks or bonus tracks, such as Stronger Than Ever and Little Dreamer.
* What really missed on the album was a super-smash-hit-song, cause honestly all the tracks of Bionic are easy to get sick of after a little time hearing the Bionic songs.
* After the flop of NMT, the album could be saved if she had released a club banger like Vanity, Desnudate… Or she could had released Lift Me Up as single, the song talks about being at a hard time, many people would feel connected to this song and Christina vocals are pure and powerfull. But she released YLM and the album era died.
WHAT SHE NEEDS TO COME BACK TO THE TOP?
Make an album like Stripped (vunerable, positive in a way, and reflecting about the divorce, the Bionic flop…) and have at least 3 songs like her singles lof her debut album.

1.) Moves Like Jagger – Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera
(Christina Aguilera’s most recent #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 w/ Maroon 5;
sets the mood for the entire album; fun, pop, classic)
2.) We Found Love – Rihanna
(Christina’s 1st official single about finding love, something universal & that everyone can relate to,
Pop music will never die so stick with pop esp. for a first single, pop, dance, europop, club, amazing beat, enchanting vocals, something different yet original)
3.) Hold It Against Me – Britney Spears
(Christina has the talent for using her vocals to empower the beats under it so she should have a song that has a very strong, catchy chorus, amazing lyrics, first-pumping pop sounds, & a dustup breakdown)
4.) Say It Right – Nelly Furtado
(Pop song with urban influences; massive dance beat, angelic voice, midtempo ballad w/ R&B)
4.) Rolling In The Deep – Adele
(A power-pop ballad w/ western & R&B influence, drums, handclaps, powerful vocals, amazing lyrics, epic music video to match)

of bionic & a mixture from the stripped era which i have no problem with. I feel like because bionic was considered a commercial flop, she feels the need to put out another album in the same vibe to prove that this is exactly who she is and knows what she wants to do creatively. Now the list above is what i would like her to strive after her upcoming album. Modern soul/rnb/funk that has a good balance of slow and midtempos. Nonetheless i have no doubt that she is confident in her music and seems like people are anxious to hear her new single so bring it on xtina! LETS START THIS YEAR WITH A BANG!

I think she needs to make some strong Rock Ballads ala Guns N Roses November Rain. I think her trying to mimick Adele or Lana Del Rey sounds cool but she’s going to be compared to them and not be innovative or starting a new trend. However if she were to channel great rock ballads then she would be the first female pop singer to tap into that feel. I think Lana Del Rey and Adele are wonderful but I also don’t think Xtina should make all of her ballads based on those soulful women. Maybe one or two of them but then a fierce November Rain to open or close the album since she has the voice for that material….

You don’t have to do it in that order but that would be a good mix of genres and easy to cross over to different cultures. I think she should put out three different tracks at once with two different videos and let her fans come up with the third concept as she is doing with the album. Then she should do a 10 city tour to promote the upcoming album with a set that includes the new songs mix with old songs but changed a little sonically. Then perform them on the voice and other shows and do a few magazine covers, TV appearances, and radio interviews previewing the tracks. Since you asked for my or the fans input!

For her next album I want pop with some hiphop/r&b flavor. Anthems and explosive club bangers that make it impossible to sit still. She needs to come HARD this time with music that sounds fresh and new.
I also definitely want some big collabs, the ultimate one would be Eminem. A song with Eminem and Xtina would KILL. I know a LOT of fans want a Christina + Eminem collab. They’re both the best at what they do, and together they would make magic. A collab with Rihanna would be amazing, they could do a club anthem. Kanye West would be great too.

Christina needs a simple yet uniquesound to start the album. She should hook up with salaam remi for most of her ballads then for her radio and club hits she needs stargate who are amazing producers they did alot for rihanna and she needs some tracks tha are completly unexpected and to top it off she needs some type of anthem probably produced by the dream or dark child it should probably be a female empowerment song you almost cant go wrong withu that.
Oh and nude rhythm is my pretend name for the album! Lol

i don’t get why you’re holding christina to such a high standard. after all, she’s competing with pop singers not singers from the damn metropolitan opera. she sings as well as every single one of those females out there and a hell of a lot better than the non singers that have sold or are selling well …or hyped well (rihanna, katey perry, britney, kiesha, jlo, etc. if these females can sell why do you think christina needs a major voice overhaul to sell this genre of music. all she needs are good songs and the media to take their foot out of her ass and start giving her fair press.

she should do NOTHING like britney spears. most of her music is shallow bubble gum pop and ‘hold it against me’ is the ultimate worst! the lyrics to that song are so lame, weak and tired not a soul could do it justice. britney’s best songs ‘toxic, everytime’ and i even like ‘why don’t cha do somethin’. if christina had to sing a britney song (at gunpoint) it should be ‘toxic’.

christina needs to scrape off alot of that make up because too much makes her look like a clown (i do like red lipstick, though i’m mostly alone in that). she’s pretty enough that she doesn’t need to bury her face makeup. fans want to see christina not a face full of powder and paint!!!
she badly needs to go back to her fashionista days. when she goes on tour wear glam outfits like beyonce and jlo. some of the costumes from ‘burlesque were even good. sack those cheesy, cheap, tacky, bargain basement looking costumes like she wore during the back to basic tour. you have enough money to do better.
i’d love it if she sang ‘wicked games’ on her album. that song by chris issacs is sooo beautiful and she could really work it.

Reason why i like her is because she does what she wants and create her own style, and that makes her an artists ! With in some people there eyes mistakes, but at least she is learning and still here
Sensitive songs are her best. ( Stripped ) With an Bionic flow over them.

i’m a hater?! well, if a strong overwhelming dislike for ‘hold it against me and ’till the world ends’ makes me a hater…guilty as charged!!!
i do like her songs i mentioned ( also ‘criminal’ is pretty good) but not enough to buy a single solitary one of her records.
it took two years for ‘blackout’ to go platinum.
i believe ‘bionic’ got some critical acclaim too, but it is still considered a flop by most.

Im more excited for Xtinas album rather than Gaga. PLEASE DO NOT DO EUROPOP OR OVERTLY SEX SONGS. it should be like beyonce 4 adele 21 something along the lines of that because her voice is too good for dance music and we all learned that from the bionic flop. its not 2009 anymore, who cares about gaga?

She needs to work with Dr. Luke (which I believe she is) for some uptempo pop songs
She needs to work with David Guetta as well as Afrojack for some dance-pop cuts
She needs to work with Ryan Tedder for a couple of epic ballads
She needs to work with The Dream for a couple of hot r&b numbers…
Nuff said.

I hope that her and Scott Storch are really back together making great music. Scott is someone I haven’t heard much from lately and is an extraordinary producer.
She needs to stray away from who everyone is working with now and go and work with people like him that use to have the game on lock and bring back some cool stuff from the last 15 years.

I don’t judge Christina’s singing based on operatic standards, I judge her singing based on MUSIC standards, because she identifies herself as a vocalist, or doesn’t she? She has said many many times she is not a “singer” she is a “vocalist”.
And let me tell you, the only difference between opera and pop music is that you must sing without amplification via a classical technique. Everything from rhythmic sensibility to phrasing is applicable to all genres, no matter how different they are. That is MUSIC.

@LINKER NIPPEL When I say she needs to work with Guetta I mean only if he gives her a hot SOULFUL dance track like “Titanium” or “Without You”. Afrojack I can leave off the list… Maybe Avicii though. for another dance number. Dance is HOT right now…

Promo will be key in Christina’s new album succeeding. She, her team and label will need to work closely and collectively to ensure she’s everywhere once the single is released and months leading up to the albums release.
“The Voice” will be a viable win because fans and music lovers and critics will see her weekly and with a few performances here and there of a few new songs will help greatly. Also she needs to get out of LA. During her “Bionic” promo she hardly left California. That’s one of the reasons the album failed. She wasn’t willing to promote it right.
What I really would like to see her do is kind of what Beyonce did with ’4 Intimate Nights’. I would love to see her perform her entire ‘Stripped’ album for a group of fans along with new songs since 2012 marks the ten year anniversary of the album . She’ll need to be on television shows, commercials…she will need to be everywhere basically. The music has to be right and the promo has to be tight. There is no room for error this time around. Christina can’t afford to make any mistakes this time. She’s need to humble herself and realize she’s no longer a threat but can be.

Christina needs to do her. Just her. With Back to Basics and Bionic, while they were both fantastic albums they were missing what drew all her fans in: raw emotion. Back to Basics and Bionic were both great, her voice was great, beats were great… But she focused way too much on having a cool concept. I totally get why… playing, dressing up and diving into a “costume” literally and figuratively is fun and was great/unique. But the reason a lot of Christinas fans love her is not the same reason a lot of fans love their own pop artists (ex: gaga, britney) its not about the number one hit. It’s about sitting in your room listening to her belt it out, sing her song and feeling connected. Relating to the lyrics and feeling like you are not alone. Even if you couldn’t relate to the song specifically there were pieces you could. Or it was enough just being in her shoes for a moment. Stripped was empowering. It made fans feel strong and confident.
If she does that and mixes it with a bit of mainstream melody etc. (much like stripped) she will be perfect. Because then she won’t look like just another pop singer who has her songs written and perfectly mechanically configured to be catchy. She will look like a true artist. So bring on the OVER SEXED, OVER SUNG, WEIGHT GAIN! Keep that shit coming! Just tell people why you don’t give a FUCK! and fans will be in love.

no i haven’t heard her refer to herself as a “vocalist”. i think she’s a very good singer…vocalist…whatever but she still doesn’t need to meet the standards you put in place for her to sale records. as i said lessors are selling just fine without voices that don’t come near christina’s which you claim “is shot”.
are you saying there is something wrong with her phrasing and rhythmic sensibility?

@ darius…
is she going to have time to hop all over the map doing a weekly show or is the show totally pre-recorded? it would be helpful if she showcased her album on ‘the voice’ on the regular.
————————————————————————————————————-
jlo used her show to give shine to her ‘love’ cd. even though the sales of the record are dismal as hell, with the help of her show and all the other media sources the perception of her making a ‘superstar comeback’ was created.
no matter how many appearances christina makes to promote her new project, if the media continues their hate campaign and give her no or just negative publicity the image of a dead career will be propagated. her (or anyone else doing this) making numerous appearances to promote herself makes her look self serving and desperate. if the media wants to keep her sales at a minimum, they will just ignore her as always and give the perception that she’s irrelevant.
this is, of course, just the opposite of what they did for jlo who has pissy record sales and hasn’t had a hit movie in…how long??

i’m so sick of the bs about christina needing to humble herself it makes me wretch. she hasn’t done anything in the last few years that should make the media come for her in the fierce way they do.
most of the latest garage has been manufactured. example: making a big deal out of her gaga comments, claiming she fell asleep in a party host’s bed without permission (he denied it), starting rumors of rifts between her ‘burlesque’ cast mates (with cher denied) and one of the ama hosts trying to create the idea that there’s drama between she and adam levine on ‘the voice’ (he also denied this).
if the media is set on villifying christina, no amount of her kissing their asses will change it. what will help is huge support from her fanbase. demand her music get airplay and anything else that can be done to support her.

@ rated x….
tell me something x, why is it that record companies spend ginormous dollars doing heavy promos and hyping their artists as the greatest, phenomenal, iconic etc?! why is it that winning, or even being nominated for, a grammy boosts the sales of a record.
so is it that positive publicity has an affect on an artist’s sales and bad publicity doesn’t?! for some reason i feel you honestly know better. it just pleases you to put the entire blame for enemic sales on the artist (especially christina).

The fact she quite often oversings excessively and many of her live ad libs consist of what seems like random shakings of the larynx up and down the scale…would suggest her phrasing and rhythmic intints are quite wrong.
Go to youtube and search the term “Christina belts”, look for the 12th video down the list…and tell me that wasn’t an exaggerated MESS.

there were quite a few articles on youtube under the catergory of “christina belts”. i choose the one ‘christina aguilera vs beyonce vs kelly clarkson (live belts). yes, i concede there were instances where she/all sounded a steaming hot mess. i’m going to give my ears a rest and check out some more.
of course, her record company would not allow the release her new cd if it sounded even as close to as bad as some of what i just heard. i’ve never heard her sound so horrid.
bey sounded ragged too. kelly came as the best of the three!

Honestly, I have been a huge Britney fan from the very beginning. Although she has my loyalty, I do also favor Christina. She has vocals that noone can deny are unmatchable! I think her next album should showcase her remarkable voice. That being said, I also feel she should throw a few up to date pop dance tracks as well. Let’s face it, mainstream is much easier to rule with a catchy tune. Adele has done a great job at bringing back ballads, but those waters are a bit rough to master. Perhaps a few songs that fall in-between the two categories. I would love to hear a single from her that mixes Teenage Dream and Slave 4 U into one anthem. Surely that would rise to the top of the charts. Some heartbreakers would be nice, but I favor the more inspirational, upbeat hits. Her song Lift Me Up was quite nice, although Hurt is quite a classic as well! We want to hear the power and passion we heard from Christina in the beginning! To begin the showcase of her new album, I believe she should do a performance on The Voice. After all, many of her followers do tune in each week. I’m also thinking a SNL performance. They always seem to generate a fair amount of buzz. Just look at Lana Del Rae. I’m also thinking a few calloborations with Cher, Rihanna, Beyonce, Britney of course : ) and maybe even Katy Perry. Those would be very interesting and could generate much publicity. Also, since she has worked with Nicki Minaj, maybe try her predecessor Lil Wayne. I am genuinely looking forward to hearing her new material, whatever it ends up being.
