That Grape Juice A&R: Christina Aguilera’s New Album

Published: Thursday 5th Jan 2012 by David

Now that the world has finally danced its way into 2012, fans of this generation’s ‘Voice’ ,Christina Aguilera, have very little time to go until they can get a hold of her new album.

Of course, following the infamous release of 2010’s ‘Bionic’, there are many fans who are hoping this LP serves to ‘settle old scores’  with a number of the entertainer’s closest chart rivals and ever present detractors.

Now, we’re giving you the chance to let Ms. Aguilera know just what you’re thinking.

Confused?

Details below…

Listing 12 songs from any genre or period of music from any artist out there, we want you to create the ultimate Christina album, made up of cuts you feel would further cement her status as Pop’s reigning innovator.

Perhaps you feel Britney Spears’  ‘Unusual You is just the vibe she needs to secure her a #1 single or  is Belinda Carlisle ‘Circle In The Sand’  the sound she should be going for if it’s critical acclaim she desires.

It’s completely up to you.

If you’re feeling extra bossy why not tell us how you would structure the project’s promotional campaign to ensure it generates sales figures worthy of competing with the likes of  ‘Stripped′ and ‘Back To Basics’.

Who knows? Someone from RCA  may see your ideas and pass them onto her.

Get creative below!

I feel like she should take more of a modern/contemporary feel with a little bit of hip-hop, uptempo cuts. just like stripped. she was perceived as an artist over anything during that genre. she should do some songs like walk away and loving me for me. and keep that hip-hop/soul feel like on our way or back in the day. just no euro pop. maybe something like moves like jagger could work.

  2. NMT January 3, 2012

She Needs to release something fun commercial like moves like jagger a new fresh sound with a new look (Weight Loss) would be perfect .

the single should be performed at the voice premiere and again at the grammy’s an voice uk then the music video thats the promotion for the single

  3. RAPHAEL January 3, 2012

    12. Breathe Me – Sia

Looks random but I can imagine her singing them all in her own style, ” Bionic” allows you to picture her on an uptempo/midtempo song without oversinging (see monday morning). Tried to do a continuation of her style, its basically R’n’B fused with electro however pop is evidently the main theme. A couple of massive hits that would smash download sales and also some raw genuine tracks to show her vulnerability. Those that purchase the album will get a nice mixture of vulnerability and high confidence… which I think sums her up as an artist. Starts with a killer track and ends with a song that reminds her listeners that she, much like everyone else, is flawed.

  5. ChristinasCOMING January 3, 2012

Christina sounds best on more R&B midtempo jams.

I would love for her to team up with R.Kelly and reunite with Alicia Keys…there’s magic to be made there. But considering her album is almost finished, maybe we’ll get that kind of sound for it.

Christina doesn’t need to do any Euro trash music. Leave the fast food hits up to Rihanna, Gaga, Katy, and Britney.

    R. Kelly
    Teena Marie
    Etta James
    Brian McKnight

    3. Jazzy songs
    4. Sound similar to the tribute she did at the Grammy special dedicated to Nina Simone and the song I love you Poggy

  14. fierctina cuntguilera January 3, 2012

you Lady Xerox fans make me laugh, that b**** hadn’t even started puberty when Christina was slaying the charts with her vocals !

Maybe u should be more concerned of what will happen to her when Interscope get exposed for what they did to Christina back in 2008.

  15. #1QueenGaga January 3, 2012

The public has come to realize that Floptina is a b**** with a nasty attitude. No one will be buying her music anymore. She’s a has-been that’s why she’s the true definition of FLOP.

Why is TGJ suddenly all up in Fatina’s ass lately. How much is her record label paying you for this cheap publicity stunt??

  16. socialstudy1 January 3, 2012

Didnt we do the same thing for Janet, not too long ago. I want to hear her first single. I ultimately just want a Christina Aguilera album. A bit commercial, with ballads and maybe a featured artist or two.
    I loved the Bionic cd.

  17. bananabombeblog January 3, 2012

The comments from the gaga fans always make me laugh so much! I love how they’re clinging on to the 2010 christina backlash which was 2 years ago now – yes thats right, 2010 y’know when gaga was actually relevant?

  18. LAX January 3, 2012

Christina Aguilera CAN SLAY THIS YEAR IF SHE PUT WORK IN IT!!!!

  19. louise January 3, 2012

it’s difficult because more people can relate to lady gaga because the majority of people are as ugly as she is! it’s so funny to me all the insults christina recieves are mainly from lady gaga fans and lady gaga is hideous! christina may have put on weight but as soon as she loses it she’s stunning again + she’s got the talent! **** lady gaga i’m so over her and her desperate look at me music videos/outfits which are actually quite boring now! can’t wait for christina to come back i’ve really missed her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. TG January 3, 2012

She have to work with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis for the Ballads or the slow Type of R&B/Pop Songs and with BT ( aka Brian Transeau) for some Uptempo smash Hits !
She could do a Duett with Mary J Blige and she should do something with Rick Ross & Masspike Miles !

    Damn…….that would be Epic !!!!

  21. Shay January 3, 2012

She just needs to stay true to herself like she always has.

1 – Get some serious voice lessons, and keep a discipline
2- Work on those voice lessons till the nasty straining/barking is gone
3- While working on those voice lessons also get some ear training classes
to improve that intonation, pitch problems have been plaguing her performances for a while now.
4- Get rid of the oversinging, just sing normal like a human being!
5- Work on great songs with great melodies!

  25. Josh January 3, 2012

This Would be AMAZING! I would die if something like this came about! but its imperative to end it with “Satisfied Mind” by Jeff Buckley (she really should just cover that song) I could see her doing something great with all of these songs. great mix of up tempos ballads and mid tempos in my opinion. I also think ppl on this forum should focus less on negative things…

  27. Flop&Too January 3, 2012

Before I talk about her new album, I wanna talk about the reasons that made Bionic flop on charts:
    * In a way, the movie Burlesque messed up the album plans and the album promotion.
    * Producers and songwriters like Tricky Stewart, Pollow da Don, Sia & Samuel Dixon, aren’t producers that really fit on the concept of “furutistic”.
    * Christina left may good tracks as deluxe tracks or bonus tracks, such as Stronger Than Ever and Little Dreamer.
    * What really missed on the album was a super-smash-hit-song, cause honestly all the tracks of Bionic are easy to get sick of after a little time hearing the Bionic songs.
    * After the flop of NMT, the album could be saved if she had released a club banger like Vanity, Desnudate… Or she could had released Lift Me Up as single, the song talks about being at a hard time, many people would feel connected to this song and Christina vocals are pure and powerfull. But she released YLM and the album era died.

WHAT SHE NEEDS TO COME BACK TO THE TOP?

Make an album like Stripped (vunerable, positive in a way, and reflecting about the divorce, the Bionic flop…) and have at least 3 songs like her singles lof her debut album.

  28. Xadax January 3, 2012

Oh delusional monsters. Please don’t place one type of singing style in the music world. She was inspired by Etta James. Just look at Etta’s & Xtina’s – the same w/ a few good changes.

  29. Expensive Hooker January 3, 2012

1.) Moves Like Jagger – Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera
    (Christina Aguilera’s most recent #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 w/ Maroon 5;
sets the mood for the entire album; fun, pop, classic)

2.) We Found Love – Rihanna
(Christina’s 1st official single about finding love, something universal & that everyone can relate to,
Pop music will never die so stick with pop esp. for a first single, pop, dance, europop, club, amazing beat, enchanting vocals, something different yet original)

3.) Hold It Against Me – Britney Spears
(Christina has the talent for using her vocals to empower the beats under it so she should have a song that has a very strong, catchy chorus, amazing lyrics, first-pumping pop sounds, & a dustup breakdown)

4.) Say It Right – Nelly Furtado
(Pop song with urban influences; massive dance beat, angelic voice, midtempo ballad w/ R&B)

4.) Rolling In The Deep – Adele
(A power-pop ballad w/ western & R&B influence, drums, handclaps, powerful vocals, amazing lyrics, epic music video to match)

  30. Unitedasone January 4, 2012

    1. Don’t over-sing
    2. Don’t make Dance Music (thats how these comparrissons started)
    3. Avoid making music which is sexually driven
    4. Be informed about the music scene around you
    5. Keep your private life private, no one needs to know about being a parent or having a bf, its nothing new
    6. Don’t let the record label tell you what to do

  31. Lysette January 4, 2012

Whatever she sings just quit OVERsinging it. We know you got a nice voice stop with the extra. Personally I think her time is over, expired. She has gotten fat, sloppy and her bad attitude has finally caught up to her.

It’s really funny for us, Legendtina fans to see GaGa’s Lil rawrs very jealous on how the REAL Queen Xtina gets more attention without doing anything while their Mother Copy is being flop on her latest singles this past few months. 🙂 Guys, Xtina is here since GaGa was just a fetus. GaGa is overrated. ENOUGH OF HER PLEASE? 🙂

  35. shinobi January 4, 2012

melanie fiona – it kills me & walk on by
robin thicke – i need love & lost without u
adele – hometown glory, right as rain, rolling in the deep

rachael yamagata – worn be down
susie suh – seasons change & all i want
mariah carey – we belong together

    ——

Ive never been a huge fan of xtina but i always seem to be rooting for her due to the fact that she obviously has mad talent but always seems to be overshadowed by someone else. As for the direction for her upcoming album, i have a strong feeling it’ll be a continiation

  36. linker nippel January 4, 2012

    1. Walk away (Stripped)
    2. Hello ( Mercedes Commercial)
    3. Still Dirrty (Back to Basics)

A album with strong vocals and its very stripped …. i just hope christina doesent make some booblegum radio s*** like katy perry kesha or something like that
xtina need something diffrent something special with strong vocals…

  37. shinobi January 4, 2012

of bionic & a mixture from the stripped era which i have no problem with. I feel like because bionic was considered a commercial flop, she feels the need to put out another album in the same vibe to prove that this is exactly who she is and knows what she wants to do creatively. Now the list above is what i would like her to strive after her upcoming album. Modern soul/rnb/funk that has a good balance of slow and midtempos. Nonetheless i have no doubt that she is confident in her music and seems like people are anxious to hear her new single so bring it on xtina! LETS START THIS YEAR WITH A BANG!

  38. someone January 4, 2012

no more s*** and lascivious song.

  39. MRDIVABITCH January 4, 2012

Stop it with the s** songs and the victim songs and the “I’m still mad at dad” songs.

  40. bananabombeblog January 4, 2012

REALLY WANT TO SEE HER DO A SONG LIKE LANA DEL REY “BLUE JEANS” OR CHRIS ISAAK “WICKED GAMES” – SHE WOULD SUIT SOMETHING LIKE THAT SO MUCH!

  41. Misterpibb January 4, 2012

I think she needs to make some strong Rock Ballads ala Guns N Roses November Rain. I think her trying to mimick Adele or Lana Del Rey sounds cool but she’s going to be compared to them and not be innovative or starting a new trend. However if she were to channel great rock ballads then she would be the first female pop singer to tap into that feel. I think Lana Del Rey and Adele are wonderful but I also don’t think Xtina should make all of her ballads based on those soulful women. Maybe one or two of them but then a fierce November Rain to open or close the album since she has the voice for that material….

  42. RATEDXXX(tricks are for kids) January 4, 2012

i really never understood the purpose of these type of post….

who the hell wants their fav to release something somebody else has already done?

xtina..needs to come harder this time around….she has a great voice..thats all she needs to use…i dont want to see her naked ass…

she needs to do something different, hence why i dont get why people are naming songs she should be doing…

  43. mkah January 4, 2012

who ever is saying negeitive things about christina aguilera needs to stop! she litterally has the best voice anybody will hear in any generation they may be in! she also is such a wise big hearted person. she can sing about whatever she wants! if something bothers her, soething excites her, anything she wants she can sing about. No matter what, i will love christina aguilera! there is not one song that i dont like! i cannot wait for her to show everyone what shes got, because thats exactly what shes going to do!

  44. RATEDXXX(tricks are for kids) January 4, 2012

i honestly dont think xtinas time is up…….

she has a great voice, and shes still young….

what she needs to do is humble herself……

stop trying to compete with these new artists out there…

stop over-sexualizing ur self..leave that s** sell b*******, to the h*** who cant sing or entertain for s***..

she needs to humble herself..yes i said that twice..thats her main issue….

  45. Lax January 4, 2012

    @RATEDXXX(tricks are for kids)

Im So Tired OF you and the fake Lax Give it a Break

We all know Xtina time is not up from a long shot but Jazmine Sullervile Career is UP!!!! She Flop harder then ciara

  46. RATEDXXX(tricks are for kids) January 4, 2012

    what in the retarted hell??????

  47. jokerjojo January 4, 2012

idk what tracks buts she should make something like erotica(madonna) meets bedtime stories(madonna) meets 21(adele) and it would be EPIC

  48. riri January 4, 2012

xtina time is not up! She is the only artist out there that can blow current artists like Jessie J and Beyonce away with her vocal! I agree with rated x, she needs to strip back, and showcase her vocals.

She also need stop with full on make – up. Become natural, and people will be taken back by that. I wish her the best and I hope she is successful!

  49. Marvin January 4, 2012

    1. Janelle Monae -Many Moons

15.David bowie – the man that sold the world
    16.Jimi Hendrix – Purple Haze
    17. Fela Kuti- zombie
You don’t have to do it in that order but that would be a good mix of genres and easy to cross over to different cultures. I think she should put out three different tracks at once with two different videos and let her fans come up with the third concept as she is doing with the album. Then she should do a 10 city tour to promote the upcoming album with a set that includes the new songs mix with old songs but changed a little sonically. Then perform them on the voice and other shows and do a few magazine covers, TV appearances, and radio interviews previewing the tracks. Since you asked for my or the fans input!

  50. a January 4, 2012

For her next album I want pop with some hiphop/r&b flavor. Anthems and explosive club bangers that make it impossible to sit still. She needs to come HARD this time with music that sounds fresh and new.

I also definitely want some big collabs, the ultimate one would be Eminem. A song with Eminem and Xtina would KILL. I know a LOT of fans want a Christina + Eminem collab. They’re both the best at what they do, and together they would make magic. A collab with Rihanna would be amazing, they could do a club anthem. Kanye West would be great too.

  51. xrayed January 4, 2012

I would die if she could do an album full of
    1. Monday Mornings (and songs a’la Moves Like Jagger)
    2. Birds Of Prey (and songs a’la Frozen by Madonna)
    3. Full album house-ish a’la Flesh Tone by Kelis

  52. commanderofthedancefloor January 4, 2012

    N*** Rhythm
Christina needs a simple yet uniquesound to start the album. She should hook up with salaam remi for most of her ballads then for her radio and club hits she needs stargate who are amazing producers they did alot for rihanna and she needs some tracks tha are completly unexpected and to top it off she needs some type of anthem probably produced by the dream or dark child it should probably be a female empowerment song you almost cant go wrong withu that.
Oh and n*** rhythm is my pretend name for the album! Lol

  53. Beyhave January 4, 2012

    commanderofthedancefloor you are genius!
    I love your concepts.
Have you considered getting into A&Ring.

  54. LAx January 4, 2012

    @RATEDXXX(tricks are for kids)

    Have a SEAT

  55. Bread January 4, 2012

No matter how much we want her to do great.
Nowadays having an great voice only gets you but so far. B2B and Bionic weren’t good albums. You shouldn’t be on your 5th release and ppl are still talking about your 2nd studio album.
She really just needs an great team around her. Which includes management, song writers,a&r,label, fashion etc

She will do fine, not huge numbers but ok.

  56. NikKO January 5, 2012

MORE LIKE BLACKOUT FROM BRITNEY SPEARS….XTINA CALL DANJA!!!

  57. irene46 January 5, 2012

    @ mrdivabitch…

i don’t get why you’re holding christina to such a high standard. after all, she’s competing with pop singers not singers from the damn metropolitan opera. she sings as well as every single one of those females out there and a hell of a lot better than the non singers that have sold or are selling well …or hyped well (rihanna, katey perry, britney, kiesha, jlo, etc. if these females can sell why do you think christina needs a major voice overhaul to sell this genre of music. all she needs are good songs and the media to take their foot out of her ass and start giving her fair press.

    @ nikko…

she should do NOTHING like britney spears. most of her music is shallow bubble gum pop and ‘hold it against me’ is the ultimate worst! the lyrics to that song are so lame, weak and tired not a soul could do it justice. britney’s best songs ‘toxic, everytime’ and i even like ‘why don’t cha do somethin’. if christina had to sing a britney song (at gunpoint) it should be ‘toxic’.

  59. irene46 January 5, 2012

christina needs to scrape off alot of that make up because too much makes her look like a clown (i do like red lipstick, though i’m mostly alone in that). she’s pretty enough that she doesn’t need to bury her face makeup. fans want to see christina not a face full of powder and paint!!!

she badly needs to go back to her fashionista days. when she goes on tour wear glam outfits like beyonce and jlo. some of the costumes from ‘burlesque were even good. sack those cheesy, cheap, tacky, bargain basement looking costumes like she wore during the back to basic tour. you have enough money to do better.

i’d love it if she sang ‘wicked games’ on her album. that song by chris issacs is sooo beautiful and she could really work it.

  60. Robin January 5, 2012

I believe in her as an artist and will be sure she will release what she feels like to do. Although she will do it stronger this time because she is not an idiot.

Reason why i like her is because she does what she wants and create her own style, and that makes her an artists ! With in some people there eyes mistakes, but at least she is learning and still here 🙂

Sensitive songs are her best. ( Stripped ) With an Bionic flow over them.

She should release ” I am ( Stripped ) * before the new album !!! To let the world know who she is and yes she makes mistakes but she is an human as well 🙂

  61. nikko January 5, 2012

    @irene46
YOUR A HATER BLACKOUT IS IN THE TOP 10 ALBUMS OF THE DECADE…. ANYWAYS I HOPE XTINA MAKES A BIG COMEBACK…..

  62. irene46 January 5, 2012

    @ nikko…

i’m a hater?! well, if a strong overwhelming dislike for ‘hold it against me and ’till the world ends’ makes me a hater…guilty as charged!!!

i do like her songs i mentioned ( also ‘criminal’ is pretty good) but not enough to buy a single solitary one of her records.

it took two years for ‘blackout’ to go platinum.

i believe ‘bionic’ got some critical acclaim too, but it is still considered a flop by most.

  63. minajesty January 5, 2012

Im more excited for Xtinas album rather than Gaga. PLEASE DO NOT DO EUROPOP OR OVERTLY S** SONGS. it should be like beyonce 4 adele 21 something along the lines of that because her voice is too good for dance music and we all learned that from the bionic flop. its not 2009 anymore, who cares about gaga?

  64. Xadax January 5, 2012

Xtina doesn’t care esp. the ignorant & delsuional @MRDIVABITCH or @CUNTINA

  66. Jennifer January 5, 2012

I want her to have a mix between the fun pop, sincere tracks, and some latin flavor a la “desnudade”

  67. DJ Taj January 5, 2012

She needs to work with Dr. Luke (which I believe she is) for some uptempo pop songs

She needs to work with David Guetta as well as Afrojack for some dance-pop cuts

She needs to work with Ryan Tedder for a couple of epic ballads

She needs to work with The Dream for a couple of hot r&b numbers…

    Nuff said.

  68. DJ Taj January 5, 2012

Oh and she needs to work with Sia & Linda Perry & Mark Ronson for some soulful more mature tracks/ballads.

  69. Jordan January 5, 2012

I hope that her and Scott Storch are really back together making great music. Scott is someone I haven’t heard much from lately and is an extraordinary producer.

She needs to stray away from who everyone is working with now and go and work with people like him that use to have the game on lock and bring back some cool stuff from the last 15 years.

  70. linker nippel January 5, 2012

    @DJ TAJ

    OMG noooooo
she must work with scott storch, linda perry, ryan tedder and some other producers but not with david guetta, afrojack or dr luke

xtina is not a basic b**** like the others
and she will put everything in her new album and it will kill everything
she will slap the other b****** in the face
    2012 will be her year

the queen is coming to take her throne back bitchess

what’s with the new pic attached to an old post?! can we get a new christina post if you please?

  72. MRDIVABITCH January 5, 2012

    @ IRENE 46

I don’t judge Christina’s singing based on operatic standards, I judge her singing based on MUSIC standards, because she identifies herself as a vocalist, or doesn’t she? She has said many many times she is not a “singer” she is a “vocalist”.
And let me tell you, the only difference between opera and pop music is that you must sing without amplification via a classical technique. Everything from rhythmic sensibility to phrasing is applicable to all genres, no matter how different they are. That is MUSIC.

  73. MRDIVABITCH January 5, 2012

    @ XANAX

You are right, Christina doesn’t care what anybody thinks she should improve
That’s why her voice is shot *files nails*

  74. DJ Taj January 5, 2012

@LINKER NIPPEL When I say she needs to work with Guetta I mean only if he gives her a hot SOULFUL dance track like “Titanium” or “Without You”. Afrojack I can leave off the list… Maybe Avicii though. for another dance number. Dance is HOT right now…

  75. Small_Angel January 5, 2012

    @MRDIVABITCH

Christina Aguilera is the Best Vocalist out there!!!

  76. Darius January 5, 2012

Promo will be key in Christina’s new album succeeding. She, her team and label will need to work closely and collectively to ensure she’s everywhere once the single is released and months leading up to the albums release.

“The Voice” will be a viable win because fans and music lovers and critics will see her weekly and with a few performances here and there of a few new songs will help greatly. Also she needs to get out of LA. During her “Bionic” promo she hardly left California. That’s one of the reasons the album failed. She wasn’t willing to promote it right.

What I really would like to see her do is kind of what Beyonce did with ‘4 Intimate Nights’. I would love to see her perform her entire ‘Stripped’ album for a group of fans along with new songs since 2012 marks the ten year anniversary of the album . She’ll need to be on television shows, commercials…she will need to be everywhere basically. The music has to be right and the promo has to be tight. There is no room for error this time around. Christina can’t afford to make any mistakes this time. She’s need to humble herself and realize she’s no longer a threat but can be.

  77. Aims January 5, 2012

Christina needs to do her. Just her. With Back to Basics and Bionic, while they were both fantastic albums they were missing what drew all her fans in: raw emotion. Back to Basics and Bionic were both great, her voice was great, beats were great… But she focused way too much on having a cool concept. I totally get why… playing, dressing up and diving into a “costume” literally and figuratively is fun and was great/unique. But the reason a lot of Christinas fans love her is not the same reason a lot of fans love their own pop artists (ex: gaga, britney) its not about the number one hit. It’s about sitting in your room listening to her belt it out, sing her song and feeling connected. Relating to the lyrics and feeling like you are not alone. Even if you couldn’t relate to the song specifically there were pieces you could. Or it was enough just being in her shoes for a moment. Stripped was empowering. It made fans feel strong and confident.

If she does that and mixes it with a bit of mainstream melody etc. (much like stripped) she will be perfect. Because then she won’t look like just another pop singer who has her songs written and perfectly mechanically configured to be catchy. She will look like a true artist. So bring on the OVER SEXED, OVER SUNG, WEIGHT GAIN! Keep that s*** coming! Just tell people why you don’t give a F***! and fans will be in love.

  78. irene46 January 6, 2012

    @ mrdiva…

no i haven’t heard her refer to herself as a “vocalist”. i think she’s a very good singer…vocalist…whatever but she still doesn’t need to meet the standards you put in place for her to sale records. as i said lessors are selling just fine without voices that don’t come near christina’s which you claim “is shot”.

are you saying there is something wrong with her phrasing and rhythmic sensibility?

  80. irene46 January 6, 2012

    @ darius…

is she going to have time to hop all over the map doing a weekly show or is the show totally pre-recorded? it would be helpful if she showcased her album on ‘the voice’ on the regular.
    ————————————————————————————————————-
jlo used her show to give shine to her ‘love’ cd. even though the sales of the record are dismal as hell, with the help of her show and all the other media sources the perception of her making a ‘superstar comeback’ was created.

no matter how many appearances christina makes to promote her new project, if the media continues their hate campaign and give her no or just negative publicity the image of a dead career will be propagated. her (or anyone else doing this) making numerous appearances to promote herself makes her look self serving and desperate. if the media wants to keep her sales at a minimum, they will just ignore her as always and give the perception that she’s irrelevant.

this is, of course, just the opposite of what they did for jlo who has pissy record sales and hasn’t had a hit movie in…how long??

  81. irene46 January 6, 2012

i’m so sick of the bs about christina needing to humble herself it makes me wretch. she hasn’t done anything in the last few years that should make the media come for her in the fierce way they do.

most of the latest garage has been manufactured. example: making a big deal out of her gaga comments, claiming she fell asleep in a party host’s bed without permission (he denied it), starting rumors of rifts between her ‘burlesque’ cast mates (with cher denied) and one of the ama hosts trying to create the idea that there’s drama between she and adam levine on ‘the voice’ (he also denied this).

if the media is set on villifying christina, no amount of her kissing their asses will change it. what will help is huge support from her fanbase. demand her music get airplay and anything else that can be done to support her.

  82. irene46 January 6, 2012

speaking of media manufacturing the image of relevance ‘showbiz tonight’ just flashed a pic of britney spears showing off her engagement ring (same pic that was on tgj blog). big friggin’ deal!!!

  83. Ratedx(bitter bishes makes me sick) January 6, 2012

  85. irene46 January 6, 2012

    @ rated x….

tell me something x, why is it that record companies spend ginormous dollars doing heavy promos and hyping their artists as the greatest, phenomenal, iconic etc?! why is it that winning, or even being nominated for, a grammy boosts the sales of a record.

so is it that positive publicity has an affect on an artist’s sales and bad publicity doesn’t?! for some reason i feel you honestly know better. it just pleases you to put the entire blame for enemic sales on the artist (especially christina).

  86. MRDIVABITCH January 7, 2012

    @ IRENE 46

The fact she quite often oversings excessively and many of her live ad libs consist of what seems like random shakings of the larynx up and down the scale…would suggest her phrasing and rhythmic intints are quite wrong.
Go to youtube and search the term “Christina belts”, look for the 12th video down the list…and tell me that wasn’t an exaggerated MESS.

  87. irene46 January 8, 2012

    @ mrdiva…

there were quite a few articles on youtube under the catergory of “christina belts”. i choose the one ‘christina aguilera vs beyonce vs kelly clarkson (live belts). yes, i concede there were instances where she/all sounded a steaming hot mess. i’m going to give my ears a rest and check out some more.

of course, her record company would not allow the release her new cd if it sounded even as close to as bad as some of what i just heard. i’ve never heard her sound so horrid.

bey sounded ragged too. kelly came as the best of the three!

  88. Roger Bray January 29, 2012

Honestly, I have been a huge Britney fan from the very beginning. Although she has my loyalty, I do also favor Christina. She has vocals that noone can deny are unmatchable! I think her next album should showcase her remarkable voice. That being said, I also feel she should throw a few up to date pop dance tracks as well. Let’s face it, mainstream is much easier to rule with a catchy tune. Adele has done a great job at bringing back ballads, but those waters are a bit rough to master. Perhaps a few songs that fall in-between the two categories. I would love to hear a single from her that mixes Teenage Dream and S**** 4 U into one anthem. Surely that would rise to the top of the charts. Some heartbreakers would be nice, but I favor the more inspirational, upbeat hits. Her song Lift Me Up was quite nice, although Hurt is quite a classic as well! We want to hear the power and passion we heard from Christina in the beginning! To begin the showcase of her new album, I believe she should do a performance on The Voice. After all, many of her followers do tune in each week. I’m also thinking a SNL performance. They always seem to generate a fair amount of buzz. Just look at Lana Del Rae. I’m also thinking a few calloborations with Cher, Rihanna, Beyonce, Britney of course : ) and maybe even Katy Perry. Those would be very interesting and could generate much publicity. Also, since she has worked with Nicki Minaj, maybe try her predecessor Lil Wayne. I am genuinely looking forward to hearing her new material, whatever it ends up being.
