The 2-time Grammy winner is currently rocking at #2 on singles chart with her smash ‘Stronger’, but did she rock the ‘Star Spangled Banner’?

The girl is just BAD!!! Kelly nailed it and THEN SOME! The song, after forgotten words, oversinging, and, of course, Steven Tyler’s horrific rendition, was certainly long overdue for some redemption.

Funny, the steps you take to chide and mock christina, also show the vocal short-commings of Kelly. Number 1 her voice was pre-recorded, not live. Also, although I, as well as many others I bet, enjoyed the understated nature of it, it still was in NO way spectacular, or amazing. To the contrary is was rather stagnant, and dull throughout. Lastly, no shade, but as good a vocalist as Kelly is…if we’e going to be completely honest here….HER VOICE AIN’T WHAT IS WAS 5, 6, 7 YEARS AGO EITHER!! Not to the same extent, but she to deals with hoarness, overuse, bad technique, and not knowing her limits at times!!

SHE CAME IN AS CEASER OR A PHAROH OF SOME SORT. ONCE SHE GOT TO THE STAGE… SHE LIP SYNCED VOGE WITH NO REAL CHOREOGRAPHY. HER STAGE WAS NICE THOUGH…LOL. SHE USED BREAK DANCERS, A LINE WALKER, A MARCHING BAND (WHICH JANET HAD ALREADY DONE IN HER SUPER BOWL HALF TIME SHOW BACK 2004 MADGE… AND DID IT FAR BETTER). NICKI MINAJ IS BAD AT LIP-SYNC RAPIN’… M.I.A HAD SOME STAGE PRESENCE. BUT MADGE RELIED ON CEE-LO TO SAVE THIS PERFORMANCE. EVEN THE CHOIR COULDN’T HELP. THIS GETS THE GRADE (D-)
This was VERY good. She sounded great. My only complaint is why must EVERYONE sing it like Whitney did? The two parts people copy the most are “O’er the ramparts we watched”. Emphasis on the way Whitney sings “watched”. And, of course, “O’re the land of the free” Emphasis on the way Whitney sings “free” I’m just waiting for someone to be brave enough to do something different, or sing it the traditional way. Good job though Kelly.

A decent LIVE performance from Kelly, not a showstopper but well sung and not overdone. I could have done with a little less warbling but apart from that it was fine. Oddly enough, that snippet of Christina’s performance is the first time I’ve seen it, that really was f****** awful. She does have a tendency to showboat and oversing but that was totally ridiculous (that video was SO funny, showing all the other big artists whilst she was holding that note). Madonna could never :oP
