D’Angelo To Perform At BET Awards 2012

Published: Thursday 21st Jun 2012 by Sam

The BET Awards 2012 has been injected with an extra dose of Soul, for it has today been announced that R&B crooner D’Angelo will be taking to the stage.

Full story below…

Marking the ‘Untitled’ singer’s first major stage performance in years, the slot sees the 38 year old join the likes of Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Usher, Cissy Houston, Maybach Music Group, and Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D Music outfit as performers on the night.

Good stuff! Here’s hoping there’s added estrogen so as for a more balanced gender sway. Any of the following would be amazing: Brandy, Ciara, Kelly Rowland, or of course Beyonce.

The BET Awards 2012 airs live from Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium. Be sure to keep it locked on That Grape Juice for your complete BET Awards fix!

would it be such a bad thing if Pink got up on that stage and did her thing?

    • Stephen June 21, 2012

Yes, it’ll be a bad thing, her genre doesn’t even fit the BET

      • virtuoso intellect June 21, 2012

oh yeah the genre thing … welp 🙁

Sam what the hell would beyonce perform for???

  8. Ernest June 21, 2012

This is great news and a wonderful way to reintroduce him self as an artist. Still waiting on the Brandy announcement as well. It’s been long over due. If Beyonce does perform I would love her to “Dance 4 U” or be apart of the Whitney Tribute.

Why is it that gays are seemingly obsessed with female acts? Had it been performing acts were all female, Sam wouldn’t be complaining about the lack of males

  10. mobwife June 21, 2012

Yes, if he sings “Untitles” (How doe sit feel) I’m gonna be weak….LOL 🙂

  11. NICK June 21, 2012

we do need a singer female, come on nahhhh…LOVE the lineup so far as long as CB dont LYP SYNC! haha

  12. JT June 21, 2012

He will be the only true artist that will hit the stage that night.

Did the lineup listed above just say Cissy Houston? Oh Gosh. I wouldnt be surprised if we hear sometime in the future that Cissy Houston is going back into the studio. Not a good look. I am excited to see Usher perform. If he has any sense he would perform “Lemme See” or “Climax” and not that pop/electro stuff on that album. I brought that album and I’m not feeling it. Only good songs are the R&b sounding ones. “Lemme See’ “Climax” “I care” “Dive” and “Lessons for lovers”. I so wanted Usher to get back to his roots and do an urban album. He had a good fit for the name of the album “Looking for myself” cause I dont know who this man is and obviously neither does he lol

    He is so boring though.

  15. Geeeees June 21, 2012
