Nelly Furtado Soars On AOL Sessions

Published: Monday 30th Jul 2012 by Sam

Nelly Furtado‘s new album title couldn’t be more apt. For, the one-time Pop force must indeed have ‘The Spirit Indestructible’ given that she’s pressing on with a project that’s birthed no hits.

It’s a stance we wholly support, though; as Nelly’s talent is undeniable. Case, point, her freshly released stint on AOL Sessions.

Watch Furtado fly after the jump…

Say It Right

Parking Lot

Big Hoops

Interview

While entirely too nasal in places, most instances showcased Nelly’s unique tone in all its flavoursome goodness. Are the masses hungry for that, though? The answer awaits on September 11th when ‘The Spirit Indestructible’ arrives in stores.

Surprised Promiscuous wasn’t on this post.

She needs to push this cd release back and get into the studio with Timbaland ASAP …they make a great music together.

  4. LaLaLoo July 31, 2012

she should have released parking lot instead, love it!

  5. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) July 31, 2012

‘Parking Lot’ is great. She should have released it as the second single. Maybe she could have pulled a No Doubt in terms of radio airplay. However, the fact that she performed the song means that it’s probably a strong contender for a single release 😉 Hopefull!

Btw, don’t write ‘TSI’ off just yet. ‘Spirit Indestructibe’ hasn’t been sent to radio yet and it was released on iTunes just today, so you never know. It might be a success. Don’t call her album “the project that has birthed no hits”, please.

I agree with you, but why didn’t she perform it at AOL? I’m a little worried. She even sang ‘Big Hoops’ and we all know the song is as over as it gets. Maybe ‘Parking Lot’ will be the next single instead?? 😕

its weird i dont remember her voice being so nasal. its kinda hard to listen to.

    • truth teller July 31, 2012

Yes, her voice has ALWAYS been like that but in the studio they tone the nasaly sound WAY down and then her voice becomes beautiful. Her voice is so hard to listen to live! 🙁

  8. stony July 31, 2012

HER VOICE IS HORRIBLE TOO NASAL

  9. mobwife July 31, 2012

I think she is a pretty women. However, her vocal ability is quite limited. It’s funny how often ppl & the media put down certain artists but never say anything negative about the LIMITED ABILITIES OF OTHERS! hummm, I wonder why? *cough biased bullsh** *

  10. truth teller July 31, 2012

I really think she needs to GO BACK TO THE LAB and re-work some of these songs. I don’t know what gave her the idea that she could take FIVE YEARS OFF and then come back releasing songs that would’ve sounded hot in 2006. THIS IS 2012, SWEETIE. PROMISCUOUS is playing on the OLDIES STATION now! UPDATE YOUR FRIGGIN’ AURAL AESTHETIC!
