That is the reason why it is important to appeal to wide variety of people. Nicki has a WORLD WIDE fan base, and that was made obvious on her world tour/ album going #1 in different countries. So Nicki making a couple of really successful Pop songs (SUPERBASS/TURN ME ON/STARSHIPS/POUND THE ALARM), brings in a global audience.
That being said – now that she has a global audience listening, she has a higher chance of selling her rap sound to them! So when people say Nicki is selling out i get that, but what i also get is the strategy behind her making those pop songs.Nicki is going to be around for a long time, only because she provides that variety.
