Stage blazer Alexandra Burke lived up to her billing this week when she tore down the house at BT London Live.

Backed by a full band, the 24 year old served up energetic renditions of smash hits such as ‘Elephant’ and ‘Hallelujah’ for  the wildy receptive Hyde Park audience.

Watch Ms. Burke “beast the stage” below…

As ever, stellar.

I’ve just given up on the uK music scene where talent like Alexandra is passed up for mediocrity like Cheryl and Tulisa…i mean the gurl can sang!!

    • THATGRAPESHIT August 4, 2012

I don’t think the UK actually like her that’s why.

      • Beangelic1000 August 4, 2012

It not about like or dislike it is about talent. Alexandra gets a great reception where-ever she goes, expecially on live performances, the only time I ever see negativity is online and it is a small minority trying to make it appear that she is not popular.

The UK public on a whole have nothing against Alexandra, however, when you hear that someone appears to be unpopular then you do tend to echo it when asked about her and the UK public are only stating what they hear not what they actually feel and therein lays the difference.

The chart don’t like black music her music was banned on radio and tv so how she meant to make it? Plus there is something very rediculous on how UK hates her when they made her

      • TheTruth August 4, 2012

“The chart don’t like black music” LOL. It’s not like Alexandra’s music is “black”, it’s standard dance pop fodder. Besides, Misha B was recently ‘A’ listed by Radio 1. Another pathetic excuse by Burke stans.

She wasn’t banned by radio and tv, her music is s***, and nothing about her stands out. She is just there.

      • Blue August 4, 2012

        F*** u

      • Beangelic1000 August 5, 2012

MishaB for the moment is A-Listed but give it time. She will find herself in the same position as Alex. I know exactly what Blue was trying to say…Obviously it went over your head.

And if you really knew your music history then you would have known that most music has its origins in black music especially dance. And by the way Alexandra started life on the Radio 1 A List so the fans are not talking rubbish the lack of airplay happened gradually.

What u talking about ur nonsense c***

  3. KANDY August 4, 2012

Honestly, why do you feel the need to incessantly shove this girl down our throats when it’s obvious we’re not interested (check her album sales) yet feel the need to bring down other artists who, in terms of sales, music, and genuine intrigue are far superior, but are consistently brought down by juvenile insults, such as Mariah Carey, Rihanna….among many others

It’s quite hilarious really, and the irony in your words is extremely worrying Sam. It make’s it increasingly hard for people to take this blog and it’s opinions seriously when they’re consistently laced with subtle insults failing to rely on FACTS instead intent on bullying and persuading it’s readership to incline to your views. Unfortunately, for you, the majority aren’t as dumb as you think. We know your game. Step it up Same, enough of your sloppy journalism. This site is becoming a caricature of itself.

      Shut ur racist ass idiots

    • Beangelic1000 August 4, 2012

Here is a fact, the album sales are not down to it being a bad album infact it is a very good album, a lot better then some of the albums in the top 10 at the moment. Failure is down to the album not getting 100% hype and that makes a huge difference to sales. Everyone knows this, only the haters use it to justify their reasons.

100% media hype and airplay is very important to sales, and everyone is right when they state that some of the artists who are getting it, their material isan’t nearly as good as Alexandra’s and had Alexandra’s album got the same type of media hype we wouldn’t be having this conversation. The 2nd album would be up there with the 1st. Once Alexandra gets that, the fans will stop complaining.

    • TheTruth August 4, 2012

Kandy speaks the truth. This blog is a joke. Sam takes every opportunity to take shots at artists he dislikes such as Rihanna, but will not even address the ‘elephant in the room’ that is Alexandra’s mega flop album ‘Heartbreak on Hold”..more like “Career on Hold”

Alexandra stans need to stop coming up with excuses. The album is poor and no one is checking for her.

      • Beangelic1000 August 5, 2012

TheTruth you are talking out of your behind.
Alexandra amassed 4 millions sales in the UK alone, so it goes to show her music sells. She has a multi-platinum album, multi-platinum single, platinum single and 3 gold singles, she takes a long break to concentrate on her 2nd album and her 1st single off the album manages to get to no 2 in the singles chart and no 1 on the dance chart and no 7 on the World chart despite lack of airplay. Let It Go didn’t fair very well and lack of ariplay didn’t help, the “nd Album got to no 18 on the Album chart, therefore, it doesn’t take a genius to work out with 100% hype behind it….it would have definately got to no 1, because, despite what you are trying to imply HOH really is a good album.

Therefore, the fans are not making an excuse the evidence is very clear why the album is a flop, it is very simply, lack of media hype and 24/7 airplay so that the majority of the UK are aware of Alexandra’s new material.
I’ve listened to what’s in the charts both singles and album and Alexandra’s material in some cases is a lot better, the only difference being the lack of hype.

  10. Kyle August 4, 2012

I live in the United States and neither one of Alexandra’s albums are available. BUT, I purchased her new album as an import on Amazon and received it in the mail last week and I think the album is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Her big voice sounds good over dance tracks. It looks like she can kill it live as well. I wish her nothing but the best! I will always be checking this site for posts on her.

    • Blue August 4, 2012

Wow ur great hopefully she makes it there coz US knows how to treat talented black women

      • CAMEL IVY CARTER (UGLYASSBABY) August 4, 2012

REALLY….DONT U MEAN TALENTED LIGHT SKINED WOMEN?

      • Blue August 4, 2012

Uh I wasn’t talking about skins I was on more activity more way of breaking through like via BET channels and more

      • Isabelle August 6, 2012

        She said it, not me.

  11. TheTruth August 4, 2012

since when is “Elephant” a smash hit?

    • Blue August 4, 2012

It was a top 5 hit so. It’s a hit

    • Beangelic1000 August 5, 2012

It got to no 2 on the singles chart, no 1 on the dance chart and no 7/8 on the World chart, so I guess that does make it a hit, and that was despite lack of airplay, therefore, it would have definately been no 1 with 24/7 airplay.
