As reported here, tonight’s season premiere of ‘Saturday Night Live’ boasted the musical stylings of ‘Pyramids’ performer Frank Ocean.
Fresh off a stunning performance from the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, the 24-year-old singer/songwriter took to the New York audience to lend live renditions of two of his ‘Channel Orange’ hits.

that was excellent. definitely the best live vocal i’ve ever heard from him. the instrumentation was beautiful as well. i usually take pause to the falsetto on the chorus but it worked here.

weird you say that cause every critique who commented on the vma’s gave him rave reviews even Gaga said he stole the show… the most viewers watched during his performance and twitted the most during his performance … his music rose in sales by 50% after that performance .. alot of your favs cant say the same ..

He is good but not great. I agree that he is a bit overrated. However, I dont agree that he cant sing at all. Check out on youtube his rendtiion of Lauryn Hill’s Tell Him. He actually sounds good.

Pyramids was boastful with slick rick swagger and reminiscent of 90’s storytelling , while your favs sound like whiny prepubescent boys every time they sing live Frank had bass in his voice something that is missing in a LOT of modern rnb and pop male singers. Oh John Mayer killed it as well !!! He deserved a guest spot.
I believe Pyramids video should be dropping soon…it should be really philosophical and tastefully down from the screen shots I’ve seen

Stop it, Ocean’s performance on the VMAs was less than stellar! However, this SNL performance of ‘Pyramids’ WAS VERY GOOD!! 🙂 And John Mayer showed the hell out!I loved his solo piece at the end.
