Alicia Keys is truly on fire! Already hitting the award show and late night circuit (with indeed more stops to come) in promotion of her 5th studio album ‘Girl On Fire’ (November 27th), the songstress can now be found gracing the December & January covers of ‘Complex’ and ‘Jet’ magazines.
As expected, Keys was quizzed on claims of ‘homewrecking’ – as her relationship with husband Swizz Beatz came with much backlash after his separation from wife/singer Mashonda.

Mashonda did agree that they were having problems but they were still together as far as she was aware but of course he was telling Alicia different. Uh, because they were still just separated, not divorced. Anyone would know that wouldn’t be a good look, so why advertise it. They’d be getting the same heat and same name calling they’re getting right now. No one is going to ask for that. Whatever the reason the separation was so long is not known but people can’t put their lives on hold forever. May not have been right, but I’m sure we’ve all done a few things that haven’t been right. We move on.

Based on the post above it doesn’t sound like Alicia divulged enough info to reasonably put the issue to rest. What does she consider “apart’ or “some time”? As a married woman I think the decent thing to do is to WAIT FOR A DIVORCE TO BECOME FINAL OR at least wait until divorce papers have been filed, meaning the couple most likely has been living apart for the requisite legal period, before considering that person free to start a new romantic relationship. We also don’t know whether she is simply going by what he was telling her without knowing the wife’s side of the story or impression of the situation. Since she decided to respond to the issue she should have given a clear response.

Just watched the ex-wife’s interview on the DIVA website (guess they wanted to represent both sides of the story) and SOMEONE IS LYING– either the ex-wife, Alicia, and/or Swiss. We’ll never know and at the end of the day it’s not our business or problem but I don’t think it’s fair for Alicia to consider as haters those who are not willing to just 100% accept her version or impression of the situation when the wife has a conflicting story or version of the facts.

That’s not proof, no matter how many times you print it. I mean just because the ex said it does not make it the truth. And yes, I would believe Alicia over a jealous ex. Also if Alicia went to that baby shower, ??? so what? She has admitedly stated she has known Swizz for a long time, so why wouldn’t she go? Doesn’t mean anything at all, just that she went. She didn’t say they had been seeing each other all that time and I don’t think Alicia would lie just to save face. If you choose to believe the ex, fine. I’ll stick with believing Alicia.
