Christina Aguilera’s Next ‘Lotus’ Single Confirmed

After ample debate and speculation, Christina Aguilera‘s team have finally confirmed which song from her ‘Lotus’ LP will be awarded the single treatment.

Without further adeiu…

As per RCA, the follow-up to ‘Your Body’  is…

Just A Fool (ft. Blake Shelton)

Yes, yes, and yes!

Having hit #13 on iTunes without any form of push, it was overtly clear what Aguilera’s fans and more importantly the general public wanted as the LP’s next offering.

‘Your Body’ may have peaked at a respectable #34 on the Hot 100 (without a single performance to back it, we must add), but with the industry being what it is and Aguilera needing a hit at all-costs, this was not just the right decision but (honestly) the only decision. A decision we’re glad Team Xtina made, as -having done “this” for almost 6 years – we’ve seen many an obvious single choice ignored, ultimately leading to the premature death of many a promising project.

Here’s hoping the Claude Kelly penned cut helps give ‘Lotus’ legs so as to strut towards the upper echelon of the album tally – even if it’s a slow, yet eventual rise.

Your thoughts?

Smart choice team Xtina. This is and “let there be love” are the best song on the album. This should help the album sell. RCA seriously sucks…..I mean Brandy and Xtina should not be getting these weak numbers…..C’mon team Xtina, shove your way through to make this album happen. I don’t even see it on itunes at the moment.

ppl must forgot about 3 albums in the past few yrs, the ductess, fame and doo-wops. fame sold less that 20k in its first week of release and look at it now. the right single will push this album with the right promo.
great single choice, blake is a huge country success since the show, and it’s winter so slow songs work well here, or at least in the past they did better in winter/late fall compared to summer/ warm months. world move is a spring release, let there be love summer/spring, and if the album does well, red hot kinda love released with blank pagefor end of 2013 and sing for me for the grammy awardswith current single. this ONLY will be possible if she starts to promote the right way. go to wendy, ellen, the view, the chew, jay leno, jimmy, cohan, carson, more radio interview, s*** go on 106 and park again. BUT talk about the album and new music, not just the voice

    Remey says:

This puzzles me all the time. You have an artist with so much potential, but it all goes away because of terrible PR.

How do you expect LOTUS to make as big of a commercial hit when there is absolutely NO PROMO! The Voice is not promo. True promo takes your music to all channels of distribution. It’s as if XTINA’s team woke up one morning and said, O s***! We forgot the promo behind this LP.”

Promo can turn something great into something magical! You see the difference it did between Rihanna’s Loud vs Talk That Talk. Both were good albums, but Loud was considered better because of it’s clear PR. When an era is all over the place, unclear, or not present, fans get confused and lose interest….which means your music better be good (hence why TTT still prevailed).

Did I miss the post on her 1st week CD sells figure? 0_o

Anywho, this next song ft Blake “disgusting ADULTERER who left his pretty wife for an UGLY cheap H**” Sheldon, should go over big. He is very popular in the world of Country music. And let’s be honest, Country like Pop & Hip Hop are the most supported genres. She is doing well to find a “country niche” like Kelly Clarkson!

    Singles order should be:

    1.) Your Bidy
    2.) Just A Fool
    3.) Let there Be Love
    4.)Light Up The Sky
5.)Empty Words or Make the World Move

Granted, there needs to be success from the second single and the album to even warrant a third single, but if success does come I think this is a smart plan to keep the ball rolling.

Christina’s cd is all over the place. We were promised a STRIPPED type cd and we got a back 2 basics flop like cd mixed with some bionic ballads. Christina aguilera is all over the place. She does these live performances and sounds so soulful but her cd’s LACK SOUL. Who is she? Just make a soulful cd it works for you….stop making these part Celine dion part UK bullcrap mid-tempo’s.

This girl is so arrogant to think she can just make junk and the public will buy it. Make a soulful CD christina….a smokey bluesy cd. damn. is that so hard.

IMO she MUST have chosen “Best Of Me”, best ballad on this album…

Choosing Your Fat Body as a debut single was a dead wrong choice that screwed up her album sales anyway, but she still could choose more than one ballad… Next single choices imo should be: Army Of Me, Best Of Me and Cease Fire…

Christina is so great and it’s sad how the media only concentrates on her weight over the awsome music and postive messages she spreads. The world needs to quit hating on such a great artist and concentrate on slamming the auto tuned bimbos I hear on the radio. Christinas “Your Body” was repeatedly voted the hottest song on AT top40 week after week and yet it only peaked at #22. CRAZY!!!She is gorgeous and wonderful!!
