New Song: Girls Aloud – ‘Beautiful ‘Cause You Love Me’

Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle and their fellow Girls Aloud bandmates today unwrapped a new song from their upcoming greatest hits compilation, ‘Ten’.

Christened ‘Beautiful ‘Cause You Love Me’, the cut has the strange honor of not only being confirmed as the album’s second single, it also has premiered ahead of the release of the LP’s first offerring ‘Something New’ (due November 18th). ‘Ten’, itself, arrives on November 26th, with ‘Beautiful’ having a listed “impact date” of December 17th. Keeping up?

Take a listen to the Jim Eliot-produced  / Maiday-penned track after the jump….

A syrupy ballad with traces of grated cheese, ‘Beautiful’ reminds us why we love ‘Something New’ so much.

As vocalists go, Girls Aloud boast no notable voices besides the sublime Nadine; which is fine, as they’ve made their name serving up solid uptempos – an arena they should continue to play in for the foreseeable. This is a fact we’re sure they’re well aware of; which makes us think this is more a case of serving up the almost “required ballad” heading in to the UK’s Holiday season – a window which often favours songs of the slower persuasion.

Not keen on this, too slow and whiny, I don’t like most ballads. Something New is a great song, this is just average and a bit generic ;o)

I’m not to up to speed on this group. I take it they are popular on the other side of the pond due to Cheryl. I didn’t even know they’d been around long enough for a greatest hits and I’m an avid music lover.can a stan please give a little rundown on Girls Aloud

Actually… Cheryl is hot due to the group and xFactor. GA has been around since 2002. They were put together by the same show that put together Eden’s Crush (Nicole’s first group) Popstars. They’ve been together since then and they are a big deal in the UK. They really don’t venture outside of the UK which is why their name is not as known by those outside of the UK like Cheryl because Cheryl tried to venture out…

It’s Nicola sinning lead on that chorus. She sounds amazing!!

Nadine doesn’t feature on this song. It’s Nicola singing the chorus (as pointed out) i guess they’re trying to use her to replace Nadine but she doesn’t really cut it

This year the singles were once again hard to distinguish and separate the top from the bottom. Unfortunately, though Khaled and Banks both had strong singles, they don’t make the top 5 but deserve an acknowledgment, especially Banks who came out of nowhere with Beamer Benz or Bentley. Number 5: “Hello Good Morning” – I’m still not gonna buy Last Train to Paris because the beats have been hot on all songs leaked or released but the auto tune portions from Puff are the absolute worst. On this song, the verses by Nicki Minaj and the infectious beat are what made it a success. Number 4: “Money to Blow” honestly, the thing everyone remembers is wayne saying “we gon’ be alright cause we got Drake on every hook” and its proving true. The best thing to grace Baby’s latest wack ass album, Money to Blow had a slick beat and alright lyrics from Drake while preserving the Cash Money swagger. Number 3: “Pretty Boy Swag” Once again, Soulja takes an annoying song, trite concept, and somehow makes it into a hit. The beat was passable for me but the actual song structure and lyrics were the worst. At the end of the day, it was a mega-hit. number 2: “BMF” Rick Ross had a mega-hit on his hands with the lead single from Teflon Don. The song was bumped on the radio, and in every whip and big truck driving down the street this summer. Everyone was feeling like Big Meech and Larry Hoover. number 1: “Empire State of Mind” Jay-z and Alicia Keys performed at the World Series and every award show with yet another Ode to the rotten Apple. Thsi song had everyone in every city pretending they were from one of the boroughs. I only wish everyone could have local pride like this. This single bubbles all through the winter and into the summer.
