The proof, as they say, is always in the pudding..and if the last few days in Nicki Minaj‘s world are anything to go by, we’d say life is pretty sweet for the Rap star.
Unveiling a new eight track EP named ‘The Re-Up’ last Monday, this week saw her reap many a reward from the project after its sales forced its supporting LP, ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ 79 spots up the Billboard 200 in the space of 7 days, placing it at #28.
So, just in case that wasn’t enough to put a smile on her face, she’s now scored a new personal best on a critical tip.

Ironically, despite only boast eight tracks, the release has scored a Metacritic score of 74/100- marking the highest score of her career with 2010′s ‘Pink Friday’ receiving 68/100 and ‘Reloaded’ nabbing 60/100.
Calculated by measuring reviews published by BBC Music, the Los Angeles Times and The Boston Phoenix to name just three, the project’s impeccably high score makes it the Rapper’s most critically acclaimed release, perhaps spearheaded by the fan favorites ‘Up In Flames‘ and the Cassie assisted ‘The Boys’.
With her third studio album set for launch next year, here’s hoping ‘The Re-Up’s success comes a lesson learned for the Rapper.
A lesson, that has seen her exceed expectations on a whole number of fronts with material that even she admits ‘is better’ than that of ‘Reloaded’.

They barely shipped any copies to the UK… Considering how hard it’s been for my sister to find a copy out there, i’m surprised it sold that much. As far as the US goes despite not being in two major stores, she still managed to push 35k which for a re-release is pretty good. Katy’s re-release did 33k with the aid of target & walmart.

She was on BET, TV, Radio promoting the hell out of this, and it failed…
As an additional collection of new songs, you would have thought her fans would buy, they didnt… It sold even less in the UK as the album didnt even re-enter the Top 40.
Even if they didn’t want to part with the money for the whole album, as they may have already had it, you would think the single sales would be high right… Well… Not according to US iTunes. The only songs to be seen are I’m Legit sitting at 200 (will dissapear by tonight) and Va Va Voom, the song her pop audience buys…
I think it is evident, that she tried to recapture her mix tape market, who no longer care for her music, and there is nothing genuine about what she does, and her pop audience are where she is stuck. She is not a hip hop artist, so should not be compared with them…
It would seem her 15 minutes of fame are slowly coming to a close…

Music Stores in the UK said that seeing as it was a RE-Release, they didn’t order much copies… and three workers told me this.
Nicki even mentioned this in interviews. It sucks she kinda did this RE-Release coz if it was an EP with just the 7 new songs, it would’ve been taken more seriously to markets.

The album hasn’t sold a lot physical copies as expecteted, Target nor Walmart carried the re-release & the stores that did only had limited copies.. I went to my local Bestbuy and attempted to get the re-up & I was told they only ordered 60 copies & have sold out of them in 2 hours.. Fye is 30 minutes aye from Bestbuy in my city, & when I went there they had 70 copies sold out of 100 Copies & the 30 copies left over had been reserved for future purchase by Reward Members.. So I turned to iTunes & had it downloaded in 3 minutes like the majority of people who wanted the album did! Then I ordered the album off of Amazon & just got it yesterday, & my local Bestbuy/ Fye have no copies at all as if 11/25/2012 & expect more 12/05/2012..

lets be real, we knew not alot of people were going to buy this rerelease, the boys did nothing to promote it she should have just stuck with va va voom for a closer on the last album and then worked on a brand new album. this one still hasnt sold 1 million, yet it was certified platinum. this era for her was just all sloppy, it started when she pushed the album back and changed the singles around.
