kanye west revel Must See: Kanye West Shocks With Edgy Revel Outfits

No stranger to the outlandish, Kanye West made quite the fashion statement last night during a sell-out show at the Revel resort in New Jersey.

The G.O.O.D Music general donned dazzling head attire – including a Maison Martin Margiel crystal couture mask – as he thrilled with a hit-filled set at Ovation Hall.

While we doubt this will silence the “hookus pokus” rumours, we can’t but give kudos to Kanye. For, in an era where artists stay embracing the “basic”, he continues to embrace the left-field – ultimately serving up a more compelling product.

Wow, I didn’t know he had that taste in fashion!

And death @ that delusional fuck above me saying BEYONCE is NOT an ICON.

I mean, what kind of artist achieves what BEYONCE has achieved since 1997 and is not an ICON???

And would the “LEGEND” award she was honored with at the 2008 World Music Awards lie?

DOn’t get mad because people are able to see through the bullshit! The only delusional thing in sight are the way you stans act when someone calls your bullshit fav out for being the GREAT PRETENDER that she is. What the fuck is ICONIC about beyonce? what the uh oh dance?? no let me guess the way she sashays her ass across the stage like Vegas stripper?? Yeah i will give her one thing she does work hard when it comes to her live shows meaning she has lot’s of energy, but does that make her ICONIC??? Fuck no…Name one song that beyonce has song that screams i’m a legend? Why do people always equate money as mean success?? that’s why people hate artist these days, because of delusional stans who get beside themselves…..rest bitch

      • I am not a “crazed stan”, and I hate that word too fucking much. I am just a fan. There’re still shitloads of songs, videos, live performances, commercials and movies by her that I’m yet to check out. Like, more than 40% of them.

        Yes, she is an icon.

If she’s not, then answer the very simple fucking question :

WHO ( from TODAY’s ALIVE singers, NOT artists from 1928 ) can PERFORM LIVE better than BEYONCE?

Oh, and I know it’s HARD for you to understand but . . . SHE DANCES, doesn’t shake her ass.

Dancing: is moving your body FROM HEAD TO TOE to the rhythm of a song, and BEYONCE does just that. She DANCES, and even has “Best Choreography” noms and wins to prove that.

What makes her so special as a performer is that she’s got the full package.

Whitney Huston, Mariah Carey and other legends sure beat her at singing, but do they beat her at dancing?

And I’m NOT trying to say they needed to learn how to dance, but do they?

Ciara, Janet and Usher (maybe) are better dancers, but do they beat her at singing?

No, she beats all of them combined. Watch her “Beautiful Ones/Sex on Fire” performance at 2011 Glastonbury, which drove Caleb (of Kings of Leon) to masturbate to his own song.

Again : she is the full package, and that’s something you can’t find any of these artists mentioned above.

BTW, she might not have a song that screams “I Am Legend”, but has a bunch of songs that scream “I Am An Icon”.

I guess “HALO”, “Single Ladies”, “If I Were a Boy”, “Crazy in Love”, “Baby Boy” are all ICONIC songs, along with the classics she recorded as the leader of Destiny’s Child and sang 95% of, “Say My Name”, “Bills Bills Bills”, “Survivor”, “Independent Women” and “Lose My Breath”.

So you gotta admit it, BITCH deserves the massive amounts of numbers she moved around the world since 1997 , all the iconic awards she has won and tens of records she broke.

And don’t you ever get to thinking she never struggled for her success. She worked hard, VERY HARD, DAY AND NIGHT, put her SOUL into her work, to get where she is now.

I don’t see what more than that does an artist have to achieve to be labeled “AN ICON”.

Pour it up is already billboard bubbling under at number 10 and we all know rihanna songs do better on pop radio than beyonce, plus, her songs stay in the charts for months. So that will fuck up beyonce. Rih is now the bigger black star between the two, and TTT outsold 4, it now on course to be certified 4 million. and 4 had not a single hit. So rh has prevented beyonce from doing what she really wants and that is dominating the charts. She scraped 2 million with her last album and that mainly came from the USA. She had no number 1 and beyonce has always said she wants hit records. Now, for the first time in her career, she is going head to head with premier black rival. She never had that in 06, 03 and 08. Now she does. Let see how her single do against Pour it up and right now. Stay for the WW market.

She will lose. Where is her single and where is the buzz?

The buzz for pour it up and right now was so strong they had to send it ti radio asap. stay buzz was so strong in the uk, it is charting top 5 before it official release date next year.

There no buzz for beyonce single, even with pepsi and sb, if there. was, she would be forced to send her song to radio asap. Fans were begging for an urban single from rih, that why she is forced to send pour it up to radio now. No one cares about beyonce single, hence why there is no buzz.

Ohh Yesssss I’ve just woke up only to find out that @honeychildplease is pressed as fuck!!!!!!!!!!!

If BEYONCE isn’t an icon :

    - WHY would she be KNOWN AS the top performer of this genration?

    - WHY would she be awarded a “LEGEND” at the WORLD FUCKING MUSIC AWARDS in 2008?

    - WHY would Billboard name her “The Undisputable Queen of Pop” in 2010?

    - WHY would she win 16 Grammys, 28 ASCAPs, and close to 200 other awards?

    - WHY would she sell 65 million albums since her debut as the LEADER of Destiny’s Child back in 1997?

    ????????????????????????????????

UNTIL you answer me, you can take a damn SEAT.

    • Beyonce isn’t an icon and awards, commercial success, etc isn’t what makes you an icon.

“WHY would she be KNOWN AS the top performer of this genration?” With “performers” like Rihanna, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, etc that isn’t much. It isn’t like it was in the 90s when there were people like Janet, Michael, Prince, Madonna, Freddie, etc…..who were all amazing performers competing against one another. Beyonce is a great performer but her peers (with the exception of Gaga and a few others) suck as so it really isn’t much. Another view point is that Rihanna is the single’s queen of the generation but she isn’t an icon or a legend.

“WHY would she be awarded a “LEGEND” at the WORLD FUCKING MUSIC AWARDS in 2008?”

That’s what makes you a legend? Its very much an AWARD not an actual certification of a legend. There is no way to name someone a legend only their timeless music, impact, innovation, and barrier testing, as well as longevity is what makes them a legend. You don’t hand-pick legends and award them, the stuff I mentioned above is what makes them legends.

“WHY would Billboard name her ‘The Undisputable Queen of Pop’ in 2010?”

WHERE!!? WHEN?!?! HOW?!? The “undisputed Queen of POP” is Madonna and if that was disputable (which it isn’t), it would be Janet Jackson. That is a huge stretch, leap, reach, and more. What has she done? Who has she impacted in the sense that its transcended time and other obstacles? How was she innovative or creative?

“WHY would she win 16 Grammys, 28 ASCAPs, and close to 200 other awards?”

Awards aren’t what make a legend. Not you posting the unfortunate things called Grammys. LEGENDS like Bob Marley, Queen, Madonna, Prince, Bjork, Sade, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Diana, Tina Turner, Elvis Presley, etc all have less than 16 Grammys….

Its like the Navi saying that Rihanna has 12 #s so she’s a legend?! Another reach.

“WHY would she sell 65 million albums since her debut as the LEADER of Destiny’s Child back in 1997?”

Commercial success =/= legacy or iconic artists. Look at Aretha’s, Prince’s, Patti’s, etc album sales…….they’re still legends. Leading a band doesn’t make you legendary either….like what?

None of the things you offered is what makes a legend. How about you look at timeless music, innovation, impact, influence, artistry, etc for legacy instead of commercial success and awards.

I never said she was a “LEGEND”, or tried to put her on the level of real legends with longer careers. I was just saying she is an icon.

And after she accompalished EVERYTHING an “icon” has to accompalish, you can’t run in here and tell me she’s NOT one, without giving any details  .

So if she had no impact on music as you say, WHY WOULD she win these numbers of Grammys and other awards?

And tell me where did I say Grammys/awards = leacy.

Leave this bitch alone, she has just proved Bey as an icon without her knowing. Just look at the number of artists from the last century to try and drag our queen.

“I never said she was a “LEGEND”, or tried to put her on the level of real legends with longer careers. I was just saying she is an icon.”

If you read my comment, which it shows that you didn’t, you’d know that I said “legend OR icon”. Here is what I said to be specific “Beyonce isn’t an icon and awards, commercial success, etc isn’t what makes you an icon.”

And after she accompalished EVERYTHING an “icon” has to accompalish, you can’t run in here and tell me she’s NOT one, without giving any details

Already stated that she isn’t a legend OR an icon.

ICON: A musical icon is someone who is considered a symbol or representative of a particular genre or style. For example: The Rolling Stones are considered musical icons because of their contribution to rock music and their longevity. Other examples of an icon would be The Beatles and Elvis Presley because of their representation of their respective genre’s and music as a whole. I did provide an information on what makes an icon which is their “timeless music, representation of their genre, innovation, impact, influence, artistry, etc for legacy instead of commercial success and awards.”

“Beyonce not being one of the best performers of all time is an #OPINION, not fact.”

She isn’t one of the best performers of all time though. You REALLY set yourself up this time. She is nowhere near Janet Jackson, Prince, Freddie, Elvis, Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, and so forth. She is one of the best performers of her generation, but like I said, that isn’t saying much in the world of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and such.

“Oh, and being the top 129cent digital 5MB audio files seller sure doesn’t make Rihanna an icon, you idiot . Specially when her ALBUMS (the real sales) were outsold by everyboody and their momma.

What kind of Rihanna Navy teas…” I was giving you an example of what the Navi says and that’s what you’re sounding like

“Write an e-mail to Billboard, not me.

I’m not the one who called her the Queen of Pop.”

It doesn’t matter what they call her, they also tried to call Justin Bieber the King of Pop and there was another mag. calling Bruno Mars the “NEW KING OF POP”. They are wrong and it will remain that Madonna and Michael and the Queen and King of pop.

“So if she had no impact on music as you say, WHY WOULD she win these numbers of Grammys and other awards?

And tell me where did I say Grammys/awards = leacy.”

She made no impact on music and the Grammys aren’t a representation on impact rather than POPULARITY. Show me where her impact on music and pop, R&B, etc genre’s are then. And yes, you directly brought Grammys as a way of justifying why she’s iconic.

I don’t dislike Beyonce but lets keep it honest and real. Provide me with receipts on WHY she’s an icon/legend etc.

        @Madame Adele

Except I didn’t disprove what I said, if you read it you would know the difference. ;)

        1-

How does an icon has to represent a fucking MUSIC GENRE to be remembered as one???

So what genre do Whitney Huston, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion represent???? Aren’t they LEGENDS????

Anyway, to answer your question, BEYONCE represents the 90′s R&B. That alone makes her an ICON (by your own standards)

        2-

Those “LEGENDS” you posted the names of, are either vocalists OR dancers.

I am talking about performing as : singing AND. AND. AND. dancing at the same time.

CAN any of these (but MJ) do both?????

        3-

No, I didn’t use her 16 Grammys to justify why she’s iconic, while that

        4-

I didn’t say I “AGREE” with Billboard on naming BEYONCE the Queen of Pop specially that she is R&B, I know who the real Queen of Pop is, and I’m aware of that magazines throw the “QUEEN/KING OF POP” titles around real too much.

I was just pointing to that BILLBOARD magazine gave her that title.

      • Are you serious right now?

A musical icon is a representation of a genre or a type of music or an involvement/evolution. Like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is an icon for the Civil Rights movement.

“So what genre do Whitney Huston, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion represent???? Aren’t they LEGENDS????”

Mariah, Celine, and Whitney are legends and icons because they represent the “big-voiced diva” movement of the 90s and a transcending genre blend of R&B inspired vocalists (Mariah); gospel influenced pop blend (Whitney), and a traditional adult contemporary pop (Celine). All these ladies are ICONS and representatives of what a vocalist is, and a big voiced pop diva. When someone says this person had such a powerful voice, you think Whitney; when a person says this person has an insane range, you think Mariah and so forth. They are a representation of that genre and style and moment in music history.

“Anyway, to answer your question, BEYONCE represents the 90′s R&B. That alone makes her an ICON (by your own standards)”

Wait WHAT?! Not even. The icons for R&B in the 90s were Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, R.Kelly, etc. Beyonce has done NOTHING for R&B to be considered its icon. I mean she emerged in the late 1997s and forth, how can she represent a whole genre when she was a part of it for only 3 years of the whole decade and was in a GROUP?

“Those “LEGENDS” you posted the names of, are either vocalists OR dancers.

Yes, Freddie could as well as Prince, Tina Turner, Madonna, etc. She sets no type of standard for performance the way Tina Turner, MJ, Prince, etc did. She’s great at it but she brings NOTHING new to the table.

“I didn’t say I “AGREE” with Billboard on naming BEYONCE the Queen of Pop specially that she is R&B, I know who the real Queen of Pop is, and I’m aware of that magazines throw the “QUEEN/KING OF POP” titles around real too much.

It doesn’t matter what Billboard said about who’s the Queen of Pop when they’ve are magazine. Rolling stone ranked Christina Aguilera as a higher vocalist than Mariah Carey Celine, Patti, etc…..are they right? No.

      • Um….. Yes, I was just saying “She is ONE OF THE best performers (singing AND dancing)”, I didn’t say she “INVITED this shit”, “she’s the GOD of this shit”, or “After her the world will be over”.

And please, I didn’t say “SHE RULED” the 90′s R&B. I meant to say, she’s the one keeping the old R&B genre alive to this date.

She is ONE of the best entertainer of today along with Gaga and such, however she ISN’T one of the best entertainers of all time, there is a difference. Her singing is good but nothing spectacular and the same goes with dancing. She is highly praised today because of how very little people can do all that she does on stage but you cannot place her amongst the BEST of the BEST on the ALL time list.

“And please, I didn’t say ‘SHE RULED’ the 90′s R&B. I meant to say, she’s the one keeping the old R&B genre alive to this date.”

No she isn’t, she didn’t keep anything alive. R&B is dying out much like Disco died out and much like the Urban/Hip-Hop influence pop died out.

If it makes you feel any better though, Beyonce is defiantly a talented lady (more talented than her peers) who has a lot of potential and I feel that if she REALLY pushed herself in terms of her dancing, MUSIC, ARTISTRY, etc then she will have a place but I highly doubt she will invest in her full potential.
