Billboard agree – especially with the latter – and have today announced that the Purple one will be honored at the Billboard Awards 2013.

The eclectic superstar is this year’s recipient of the Billboard Icon Award and will be presented with the prize at the industry bible’s annual extravaganza live at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand on May 19th. What’s more, the singer will also perform at the show – which last year saw Stevie Wonder receive the same tribute.

Much deserving compared to others who were honored in the past (not that they dont deserve it, BUT some were honored WAYYYY too soon). who else was able to sell a product with an unpronounceable name. he couldnt sell with Prince so he became artist formly know as prince and used a symbol… that is something many could never do.

So people do know that Beyonce was NOT presented with the ICON award at the 2011 Billboard Awards……..Neil Diamond was awarded with the “ICON AWARD”. Beyonce on the other hand was awarded with the “Billboard Millennium Award”… The Billboard “ICON” and “Millennium” awards are two completely DIFFERENT awards…… Some people should know what they’re talking about before they go throwing SHADE at someone because in it makes you look like a hater.
