‘I’m checking you out in your sweet desire…’
This week, Brit Pop wonder Rita Ora kicked off her ‘Radioactive Tour’, generating fresh steam for her debut album, ‘ORA‘.
Now, while we aren’t too keen of the show’s fashions, footage pulled from the show has us all too excited for what the coming year will see the star deliver conceptually. For, as you’ll see below, the show’s execution goes a long way in showcasing Ora’s creativity and overlooked durability as a live vocalist.

Perhaps in pulling from older sister Beyonce, Rita‘s knack for making a live version of a song better than its recorded piece is why we’d put money on her US debut being far more successful than initially hoped.
For, coupled with her rich tone, her live arrangements serve ‘sonic personality’ in abundance- the kind of personality she’ll need to showcase with stronger material to ensure US audiences pick up the LP come release day.
In short, here’s hoping whoever’s arranging her vocals and band have a heavy hand to play in crafting her new sound.

Get ready to pay up because y’all bout to be bankrupt. Vocal performance of a song does not equate SUCCESS! Goddamnit Sam! Don’t you see!? Her material isn’t strong enough! I don’t think that was a great vocal performance, pretty disappointing in fact given she is only standing there like the proverbial lemon – the girl has no stage presence at all, and her clothes, don’t get me started on her clothes. Girl needs a style transplant badly ;o)

They have only had a couple of days to rehearse. Though her tour started on JAN 28, she was out partying in NYC, Thailand and PARIS – twice. She only started rehearsing last friday.

she was amazing when i went to see her live on monday! its a shame that the album doesnt showcase her complete vocal ability, i hope she releases acapella versions of all her songs to show the masses that she is one of those rare artists that deserves all the success that is to come! people hating right now dont forget that this is Rita’s first album, look how long it took Rihanna to reach where she is now n Rihanna’s vocals only just beginning to creep up to the ”satisfactory” mark i think people need to recognise that Rita is the next big thing and give her the credit that she clearly deserves!

Rih would of blown up on album 1, if they had given 1/ 10 of the promo they gave this fat flop ugly wrinkly ass flop. LA reid played it way to safe with rih in day 1 – he should of thrown the building at her, anyway, she reigns now and that all that matter. Ugh!.. It was worse than i thought when i saw that picture.
C’mon man… who pays to see someone boxed in a cheap prop, looking like crap and still sounding pretty damn bad during ALL of the first song (assuming that she would get more worn out and tired as the show goes on)? I honestly thought she could sing. Clearly i was wrong.
This did nothing for me. No energy, stage presence, nothing relates to a real ‘show’ i would be willing to spend my money on. I thought Jay was backing her, and that she would have at least a respectful intro for the show (one which doesn’t look cheap and slapped together) by the way they to sell her as a superstar.
