New Song: Rita Ora – ‘Shape of Me (ft. Keith Urban)’

Published: Monday 29th Jan 2024 by Sam

Rita Ora has long proven to be versatile and the media multi-hyphenate showcases this again on her latest single, ‘Shape of Me.’

Housed on the star’s latest album ‘You & I,’ the refreshed version of the track sees the chart-topper team with her fellow coach on The Voice Australia, Keith Urban, for a collaborative take on the Country-kissed cut.

Announced in tandem with Ora’s mom’s 60th birthday, the songbird shared that the song has a personal significance. She wrote:

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM! We’ve been through everything together. You’ve always been such a beautiful inspiration in my life and in my music. I wanted to write a song about you for the longest time, so when Shape Of Me was written by me and the You & I writing squad for my album and released, I was finally able to share so much that I’ve been feeling about you. It really became clear how much love you’ve shown me and how much you’ve taught me over the years!! SO, what better way to say HBD then to share a new version of it with the AMAZING Keith Urban. He helped me make it that much more special as this song is also showing appreciation to all the women in your life! So surprise mum this one is for you! Happy 60th!”

Urban added:

“When I did The Voice with Rita we just clicked right away. She’s great energy to be around and she’s a bad ass singer. So, when she sent me this song and asked if I wanted to sing with her on it, I said, ‘Can I play guitar too?.’ I love how it turned out!!!”

In toasting the release and its familial anchoring, Ora shared a montage visualizer comprised of  VHS home movies.
