Having already headlined the Super Bowl, announced a sell-out world tour, and nabbed her 17th Grammy Award, the 31 year old has today been confirmed as the headliner for the 19th annual ESSENCE Festival.

The July 4th-7th event will see the megastar return to the New Orleans Super Dome (the site of her Super Bowl showing) for what is being billed as a must-see extravaganza.
Speaking of their major coup, Essence Communications President, Michelle Ebanks said in a statement:
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Beyoncé back to the 2013 ESSENCE Festival line-up. She is truly the ultimate ESSENCE woman. If you missed her tour de force in New Orleans, please join us this Fourth of July weekend so that you can experience it live for yourself at the ESSENCE Festival. Beyonce couldn’t be Happy….most people when they have achieved a level of success slowly quiet down, after all she is a NEW Mother, but Beyonce is bordering on narcissism. Why can’t she enjoy her success and husband? We are only 7 weeks into the year and she has sang at the President’s inauguration, performed at the super bowl, has been on the cover of GQ and her HBO special comes out this week (did I mention recent Oprah interview?)! I don’t ever remember Whitney, Mariah, or even my personal PoP Queen Madonna being so over-exposed! Those ladies had better music, better voices and ALL original!
What is the motive? It couldn’t be music….those teeny bopper anthems and cheers? Her Father was a High Level executive for Pepsi so I give Beyonce mad props for inheriting her Father’s skill in marketing…clearly she knows she is a brand. Her Father for all you Bey loving fans was responsible for her receiving those undeserved Grammys…Matthew Knowles sits on a lot of boards…
What I see is a poor attempt at fooling real music lovers and intelligent people that she is an Artist! Beyonce is the best copycat in the world…Jay Z is an Artist and I’m sure he is happy for his wife and her success…but he should really have taught her a line from his song Lost One’s ….”Mutha F**** say they made HoV well make another Hov”! We can ALL make another Beyonce she comes from so many different real Artists…like Josephine Baker, Tina Turner, Raquel Welch, Janet Jackson, Aaliyah, ….to name a few. I never hear of anyone who is considered a respected Artist wanting to work with Beyonce. Her team basically begged the President to have her sing at the 1st inauguration. I hear about all the hot young new talent requesting a seat at Ms. Queen Bey’s table. I’m sure she’s nice, but she is still the child in those early childhood home movies of herself clapping and singing, dancing… she just wants to put on a show and be the center of attention.
