Is redemption on the horizon for Lil Mama?
By our estimates, it very well could be. For moments ago, it was confirmed that the pint-sized femcee has been cast as the late Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes in VH1′s hotly anticipated TLC biopic.

Blacklisted by the industry at large after stage-crashing Jay-Z‘s 2009 MTV Video Music Awards performance, the talented
femcee has struggled to garner any form of spotlight since beyond a brief judging role on ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’. The show was recently cancelled.
Could this stint as Left Eye be just what the Career Dr ordered? We say “yes” – albeit with caution.
For, In the midst of “dragging” and kicking one while they’re down, the masses all too often forget the talent that acts such as Lil Mama bring to the table. Indeed, upon blazing onto the scene, many likened the ‘Lip Gloss’ rapper to a young Left Eye – an observation we concur with.
Of course, the quality of the movie overall (irrespective of the 23 year’s performance) will dictate a number things – namely whether her career will benefit from the project. However, in the spirit of judging on one’s talent and not popular opinion, we’re hopeful that she nails it – and reaps the rewards accordingly.

Anywho, I personally believe she is a good choice to portray someone as layered and colorful as Lisa.

I think she’s a good choice, I just think people will think low of her because of her crying on Radio.
Anyways, she’s good but if they re consider than they should go with Canadian Female Rapper Reema Major, who has some strong similarities to Lisa.

I don’t think people will think low of her. That incident was horrific! She was being bullied left right and centre and her mother had recently died, so if people feel low of her they need to re-evaluate their lives.

You’re missing it. Lil Mama did something that was misguided and because of that she’s often judged and misunderstood, just like Lisa. Chilli and T-Boz are giving this girl a chance because as with Lisa, they see someone who is talented, loving and passionate and they will embrace it no matter what the rest of the world thinks.
